Does this have a physical release? Or digital only?
puhuhuhuhuhu
How does this series compare to Zero Escape? I heard this series gets progressively worse as it goes on which makes me skeptical about jumping in.

I've never played these before but after seeing some gameplay footage and trailers, they have got me interested, I just need to decide if I get them on PS4 or Vita now.
I've just tried the Cyber Danganronpa VR demo on PSVR and really enjoyed that, would love to see a full VR game, it's pretty awesome and the idea works very well in VR.
Closer to something like Phoenix Wright imo. Wouldn't say the games get weaker as they go along either (aside from Ultra Despair Girls, which is a completely different type of thing). They're fun, intentionally ridiculous rides that manage to do a pretty good of tying together.
Although the anime that ended the Dangan 1 and 2 plots was godawful (luckily '3' / the latest game is back to the standard set by the original two).
Danganronpa 2 is undoubtedly far better than Danganronpa 1. The comments you've heard about are probably talking about Ultra Despair Girls, a BTA spin-off (releasing on PS4 this summer btw) and the anime Danganronpa 3 (which I personally liked, but it's mostly fanservice).
I like Danganronpa better than Zero Escape, but it's more similar to Ace Attorney.
By phoenix wright do you guys mean in terms of gameplay or tone? I'm fine with gameplay being closer to PW but I'd prefer a tone closer to ZE.
First time I knew about it was late last week when I saw it for pre-order in a shop.Sneak release... forgot it was even coming.
What changes have been made from the Vita versions?

Although a PS4 version is neat, I suggest you play it on Vita if you have the option. It's a visual novel for the most part and playing it with the screen very close, like reading a book, made the experience even better imo.
You could also remote play btw
Once I actually find a list/description, I'll add it to the OP, lol.
There has been nothing outlines online!

No reactions yet and only 70 posts; not a good sign but expected with this crazy release schedule.
I have it but I won't be touching it for a while thanks to Zelda and Horizon.

I reviewed the game earlier this week, the port is great, it's just that I had already played the games on my Vita.
Yep, I picked it up earlier this week as well, but I've still got Horizon, Zelda, and Nier to go through. Thankfully I managed to finish Yakuza 0 last week.I have it but I won't be touching it for a while thanks to Zelda and Horizon.
Cannot believeis the first to die. It was pretty obvious she would be the first one, but I was hoping for a plot-twist.the pop singer, Sataya or whatever her name is,
Whoever invented the character Monokuma is a fucking genius. I don't remember such weird villain in other stories.
I've been playing the first Danganronpa in the last two days for the first time in my life.

Damm, the Opening cutscene is bizarre as hell.

Second to last case in 2 is some of the finer moments in all of my gaming so yeah, I disagree with anyone saying it gets worse. How does this series compare to Zero Escape? I heard this series gets progressively worse as it goes on which makes me skeptical about jumping in.
i only played the first one on vita but i will never understand how much it is beloved on neogaf. the murder mysteries are so easy that you know the solution after 30 seconds but you still have to do hours of pointless interogations and then do stupid minigames in the trial. the premise is that this is a school of geniuses yet they are all dumber than a box of rocks. thought the ending was stupid too.
i like some corny visual novel writing (i love 999 and VLR) but this was too much for me.
badly if you liked the escape part of Zero Escape.
TV tropes is a no go too. I found out about this franchise just a few weeks ago from clicking the site's random media button. I'm interested in playing them now but man am I spoiled. For first time players: don't read wikia. There are massive spoilers in the opening sentences of the character pages.

Does no one care for these games or has everyone already played them? I wanted to hear opinions from people to the series like me.

Oh wow... After playing through the games with japanese voices way back I just now heard howsounds in english... Sooo fuckin bad....Junko
Is guess she's supposed to sound bored? At least I hope that's the idea, or the VA just didn't give a shit lol. But either way, bad.
So... I just finished the prologue section. Noticed that I'm given the option to present gifts every time that I spend free time with someone during those respective segments and I'm a bit fearful of missing out on character development. How do I go about acquiring more coins for the store or should I just go along with the ride by skipping out on them?
Well it didn't work out, it sounds awful. She's supposed to sound bored because she's excelled at everything so she's bored with the world and only causing despair gives her any life.
So DR3 is split up into a future side and a despair side. The future side is focused on (DR2 spoilers)On another note, I would like to ask fans about the Danganronpa 3 anime which I heard bookends the current story arc in the Reload compilation. It's a little disappointing to hear that a conclusion comes in the form of an animated series instead of a proper gaming installment, but what concerns my interest the most stems from the near unanimous panning that I've heard across the Net. Unless spoilers are inevitably, how exactly does it drop the ball compared to the preceding games and should I be cautious of the upcoming V3 in regard to storytelling quality? Much appreciated in advance and apologies for the rambling impressions.
