With what evidence? How do you quantify bold predictions? Besides, passing along information is better served without conjecture.

Most of the OP is conjecture - but these things usually come out of nowhere, but the death of Aguayo Jr is a big issue and the timing of this is pretty significant.

There is no chance WWE wants to risk Bryan dying in the ring from a routine move, and he has had significant miles put on his body due to his wrestling style long before WWE even came calling.

I like the guy, but I think it's probably his best interest to sit out for a while. He honestly rushed his return, and even that was delayed by almost six months due to poor therapy and results. I just want him to be healthy and alive.

This is all speculation. And if he is hurt, you don't think he's gonna take another break and have a proper surgery and recovery? He's just gonna call it a career cause of what you read on the Internet?

I have reasonable doubt that it's just too much on the poor little guy. I don't think a second surgery, if this is even what is wrong, will fix the underlying issues he's facing.

Wrestling is tough on the body, and some are better equipped to deal with it.

Vince...

dream...

Nobody can tell when you're in gimmick outside of WrassleGAF, so stop now, because you're only making us look worse...

Note on this claim
He refused traditional medical treatment with his injury and seeked out alternative procedures to help him, and some of us worry this may be part of the root of the issue.

He did not refuse traditional medical treatment. He was scheduled to have a second surgery last summer some time, wanting to have it as soon as possible, and the doctors told him to not have it, and see if his issues improved. They didn't, and he ended up seeking out the doctor that fixed his problems in November.

His last injury put him out of commission for almost a year and he never fully recovered, the guys turning 34 next month, and if I remember right has a fairly long list of injuries stemming back to his pre-WWE days. The guy's body is beat up. If any of his neck related stuff from last year is acting up again, his career is absolutely in jeopardy.

Living up to that name.

His career looks like it's aged him quite a bit. I can already see what he'll look like when he's older.

And then a few more years...

It says his career is likely finished. Which makes it seem like there's official word that he's going to retire.

There's not official word yet - just official action. I think there's a precedent set lately that has a lot of wrestlers questioning if their beat up bodies may give out at any time. Aguayo Jr died at 29 - and hadn't had a much more insane than usual wrestling schedule. Some people are better equipped to deal with it.

If a mod wants to change the "likely" to something a little more ambiguous, that's fine. I don't know why people would get so upset over that choice of words though.

Becomes World Champion; gets injured

Becomes IC Champion; is still injured.

Poor bastard can't catch a break.

Then again, he's married to a Bella so it ain't all bad.

I hope he takes a year+ off and just fixes everything, then figures out if he can come back. Agree that he really needs to look at his style.

If Sami Zayn wasn't being called up on 5/4 already, I bet he sure is now.

It's just when I read the title my heart dropped thinking that he was done. Because it always sucks when the good ones have to retire early, like Edge.

I'll edit the OP. Would you say he refused traditional...therapy? I remember him wanting to get his own doctor instead of the usual specialist.

my understanding is that he did do traditional surgery, which apparently went okay, then traditional physical therapy, which he did not respond well to. he mentioned his next surgery would be a "hail mary surgery", and I guess he didn't want to go through a second one with a slim chance of it working, so he went alternative.

He definitely should have gone with a safer Bret Hart style when he got back, instead he stuck with the kind-of hybrid Benoit/Michaels style. I'm not sure it made a difference though

This is all really sad

But needs to retire. He's been champion, he's main evented WM30, he's been on the top of the mountain, that's more then 99.9% of wrestlers can say they did, he's done more then most HOFers. It's not worth losing you arms or being paralyzed

It's also worth pointing out that workers getting pulled from tours because they're banged up is uncommon, but not particularly rare.

And also that Sunny is clearly trolling the shit out of everybody

HE;s talked about being ok with a more mid-card role, putting guys over for the main event. It's not what I wanted to see but he's a great guy to do that. I was hoping to see him in that role.

I'll get some clarification on the steps and edit it into the OP as soon as I'm confident in them. Thanks.

There, the OP has been updated with the whole "refused traditional medical treatment" part. You Bryan banana riders are so touchy.

His wrestling/in-ring part of his life might be close to over, but his life isn't. He can still do so much for them.

This is very true. He will always have a home at WWE.

They are most likely giving him time to rest up for the ER ppv and the ramp up to SS.
They have plenty of talent for the tour, and foriegn tours have always been seen as secondary.
Maybe he is that banged up, if so it does suck and you people better be damned glad that he did not get the Brock match.

He's a good guy. Not a junkie. Vince won't cut off ties with someone like him. Even if he is a vegan!

Him retiring is going to be the saddest thing ever. Guy's a beast, or so he was in Ring of Honor (ROH). I want to see him back there doing what he does best, and none of this NO! YES! NO! bullshit.

You know.... it's a damn miracle that hbk came back and went another 10 years with his back fused, still put in hbk style matches, and was able to retire and live a good life.

unfortunately it comes at a cost. We'll probably never see Bryan vs Nakamura, and that makes me sad. I'd love it. I know I'd love it.
