I actually think there's a lot less overlap than people think. It without question started out as "Roman taking Bryan's spot" but I think between Royal Rumble and WrestleMania it transformed into fans (not just Bryan fans) realizing Roman just wasn't entertaining as a solo guy yet, because Roman got a lot more exposure during this time frame. If it was really Bryan die-hards I think the booing would have let up after Roman didn't win the belt at Mania, which it hasn't. Also, nobody booed Rollins when he won the belt even though he was, in a way, also taking what Bryan fans would dub a "Brian moment".
They made a huge mistake with Roman- he wasn't ready, and he hadn't had a solo heel run. Every single big name WWE guy in recent memory has done the majority of their ascent to the top level as a heel, then turned face later. The reverse is almost completely nonexistent.

Roman needed another year running solo to sharpen his craft before becoming the next face of the company. Roman is a guy I absolutely want to like, but he's just not ready. Another year + an IC title run and he'd be so much better off. Unfortunately I think Vince's impatience has kind of ruined Roman's immediate future.

I came to terms with his retirement last year before the Rumble so I'm not in any way impacted by this news.
D.Brine needs to hang it up. Let Brie dote on him at home.
Hopefully he can shave off that awful facial hair now that he no longer needs to sell his gimmick full-time for merchandise/marketing reasons.

Don't worry, our 2nd favorite underdog is waiting somewhere in Florida... or Mexico.

Successful pro wrestlers retiring in their 30's is unheard of. Edge thought two more years until his doctor told him no.
Rick Rude did (36) and he had a really bad back. Mr. Perfect and Shawn Michaels took lengthy time off due to injuries. And were probably heavy on pain pills. Ted Dibiase retired due to his neck, as well. It depends on the severity. They are definitely more cautious today than they were twenty years ago.

Edge noted he was nearly ready to retire in 2011, as he wanted to put over Christian that year for the title. A shame it didn't happen; instead they fed Christian to a guy who's always in the main event.

What's really left for him to do down there? He's ready, and their main roster is bleeding.

He has a mini-feud with Rhyno right now, and then he's feuding with Owens for the belt again. Assuming Zayn beats Owens this time he's probably going to have an actual run with the NXT title for a bit before dropping it to someone else and getting promoted.

Would the reaction be that bad? All people wanted from Reigns was a string of good, meaningful, singles matches with no run ins before he is crowned king. How many WWE champions have never held the IC or US belt before their first reign?
Hulk Hogan, Bruno Sammartino, Mick Foley, Big Show, Kane, Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, Batista, Ric Flair, Yoko, Sid, Alberto Del Rio, Seth Rollins.

and the list goes on

Hopefully DB gives #TheRub to a few guys on the roster. Zig Zag aka Zigglypuff aka Ziggler.

Give him the YES chant Just make it a "ZIG" "ZAG" back and forth between the crowd, they will love it, maggle.

Rude was training for a comeback when he died (at 40). Both he and Perfect had big Lloyd's of London insurance policies that gave them an incentive to enjoy the "time off".

Michaels obviously came back after the time off on a limited schedule. Vince really liked DiBiase and put him to work as a commentator/manager after he retired, then he got the big check to jump to WCW and be part of the NWO. I'm sure he was making some pretty decent money even without wrestling during that period, and also he was already over 40 when he hung it up.

Left fist Zig, right fist Zag. I can see the potential for marketable gloves.

Rude, even in limited condition, would have been phenomenal for either big company. Killer mic guy.

And Mr. Perfect's 2002 brief run until he was let go on that infamous plane ride.

There's a lot of overlap between Bryan "diehards" and Roman Reigns hate. Lemme put it to you like this.

There was actually talk of starting a "You don't deserve it!" Chant at Wrestlemania of Reigns won a match unrelated to Bryan. That's how deep the rabbit hole goes - convinced Reigns "took his spot."

No lie

Daniel Bryan is into alternative medical care? Good luck buddy.

Not alternative as in "home remedies" or something:

Bryan: I saw a naturopath who works with Carson Palmer, a quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals who was having a horrible shoulder problem. He could barely even pick up a football. Then, all of a sudden, he was able to play.
That's because he saw this guy in Denver who does something called "Muscle Activation Technique." And so I went and saw that guy, and for the first time in months, after just one visit, I had strength in my arm.

I really think Seth curbstomping Danny onto a pile of cinderblocks is whats best for business. Let's take this tragedy and create wrestling's next great super heel.

WWE policies must've gotten way stricter, because when you think about Cor Engol and SCSA he's getting protected like a newborn in comparison.

WWE has been shedding established stars the last few years. Daniel Bryan isn't "their" guy, but he's a former Wrestlemania main eventer and a reliable draw. They really don't have anyone set up that can take his spot of "king of the midcard" for at least a year or two.

Funnily enough Angry Joe tweets about seeing D.Bry(Most likely) (These tweets were 13 hours ago or so)

Im on the same plane to Poland with the Big Show, Dolph Ziggler, and a big guy with a long beard? Wonder where they are going.
Tired to say hi to the little guy following behind big show. Dude just stared straight at me then looked away. They arent in a good mood lol

Anyone else have a big beard and is little in the WWE? I assume it can only be D.Bry
