You're supposed to launch the updated Dark Souls once with GFWL before going into the beta branch.
Has anyone an idea if there is some kind of model swapper or armor swapper to look exactly like her?

I had forgotten my least favourite part of Dark Souls 1 PVP: Invading the same gankers over and over again in the forest ;_; I'm not good enough to deal with it.
Anyone know how I can get my controller to work with Dark Souls?
Should disable some HID ports as I have other controllers connected to my computer as well?
The debug menu is amazing. I just changed control over to an enemy hollow and killed my main character. LOL

Once again PC gaming proves to be broken bullshit.
Ugh. Thinking of just giving up on the game really. You'll want to unplug or disable other controllers, mainly dinput controllers. It's pretty annoying.
I too like to write off entire platforms based on running into bugs with a single piece of software.

I just don't know how.It only takes a second to temporarily disable a controller. Give the game a chance, maybe you'll like it.
Okay I'll try removing the Bluetooth dongle when I get home in a few hours.Try disabling/removing a bluetooth dongle if you have one running, that's what got my 360 controller working with Dark Souls
My brother is super into the Souls' series, so I've watched him play quite a bit, but it always struck me as kinda janky, so for whatever reason I just avoided it. I won a raffle for DS here on GAF and tried it a bit with DSFix, but I figured the GFWL thing would be removed eventually, so I put it off again.
So I played the game for the first time really today, putting in a couple of hours. At first it was all "you died you died you died" which I didn't mind -it made me keen to play more cautiously. Then after a bit the combat began to click, and now I'm seeing why these games are such classics.
Just watching someone play doesn't really give a good impression at all. I really do feel a lot of tension entering a new section. Exploring out, getting further away from bonfires, trying to judge if you should down an estus or keep going, not knowing what's around the corner or what a new enemy will do. And those mist doors. Is it just a door, or is it a boss? Watching someone play it all seems quite leisurely, but when you're in it, you really do feel tension. A lot of it has to do with there not being any "scrub" enemies, almost anything can kill you if you're not ready for it.
The level design is very good too, the map seems so fantastical, and the routes all cross over and above and below each other, it doesn't seem that complicated at first blush but then you start seeing the connections and you being to really appreciate what the designers did.
Anyhow, this is a really tight game. Looking forward to spending more time with it.
I argued about doing the same thing, then I imported everything anyway... And now I'm regretting it because, for how silly it may sound, I feel a lot less motivation to play the game again, since all the old characters are still there and most of the achievements (the ones I bothered with, that don't require collecting items across multiple playthroughs) are already unlocked. So, instead of transferring my Achievements I thought this was a perfect reason to replay and take all of them again. I was right, I'm just about to go to Anor Londo and I'm loving every second of the game.
What laptop do you have and how well is well?In other news this actually runs well on my laptop now! So I guess I can do some replays when I'm away from home now.
I am.Are any of you running the game at 60fps?
What laptop do you have and how well is well?
I hope it averages 60 fps at 1050p on mine.
Hmm, mine is crashing when I unlock the fps. Why is that?I am.

I'm on a GTX 780 and i5 processor.
Yeah I'm using DSfix22.Probably a stupid question since this is your first playthrough, but just in case, are you using the most recent version of DSfix? It's required to unlock the framerate in the Steamworks version.
Because I followed the proper instructions and updated the DSfix, I guess.Hmm, mine is crashing when I unlock the fps. Why is that?
I just don't know how.

Happened to me.when i launch the game it says 'you are not signed in'
help?
I guess I fucked up - Steam imported my achievements, but not my save data. Ah well.Happened to me.
I was not opted into the steam beta.
I also did not have the gfwl saves on my PC
I needed to:
Quit the game
Uninstall both games for windows programs from my PC
Download the GFW Marketplace from Xbox.com
Enable compatibility mode with win 8 on the installer
Run the installer as an admin
Start up the marketplace
Rerun the GFWL version of the game
Sign into my GFWL account
Update the GFWL in game client
Force quit the GFWL processes from the task manager
Re run the game and download my profile data from GFWL (saves and achievements)
Verify that saves were detected by the game menus
Quit the game
Force stop GFWL processes again from the task manager
Right click the game from within steam, go to the properties and opt into the beta for the game
Download the beta
Start up the game
Watch as the achievements poured in
Verified that the steamworks version of the game also had my saves
That was it...
Need a little help guys. I'm using DSFix and DSMousefix and it seems to be working okay but when I move the mouse the movement is really jerky. The FPS drops. And I forgot how to disable seeing the mouse cursor on the screen.
I unlocked the Framerate but locked it to 30FPS. If I lock it the FPS is even worse.
What's all this about a debug menu and playable enemies?
Debug menu? Where?
Sounds like it's clicking with you in all the right ways, welcome to one of the best games of last gen in my opinion. My brother is super into the Souls' series, so I've watched him play quite a bit, but it always struck me as kinda janky, so for whatever reason I just avoided it.
