Can you explain the backbuffer Durante? Is that what I want to change to my native monitor res? It's at 1284x720 or something right now. Otherwise I set it to 2560x1440 on the upscaling.
all we need now is a framerate unlocker.
Is an FPS fix even possible?
Hey, I'm having the "set everything to high!" on Catalyst issue. Rendering at 3840x2400 (yes, overkill) and filteringOverride 2, I'm getting 70% GPU usage, which is fine. There's some stuttering, but it's probably loading from the HDD or whatever.
However, sometimes, it just drops to 15 FPS (and GPU usage goes to 40%) and stays that way, for no reason.
Now, people have said "put everything on max on catalyst lawl" but I don't quite liked doing that because that setting would be applied to all my games and I hate the blur that AA introduces in the mix.
Which .EXE I should make a profile for? DATA.exe ou DARK SOULS.exe?
Also, does anybody know which specific setting fixes the issue?
It's constant 15 fps, my monitor is unfortunately DVI only, no HDMI.
Anyone have a solution to the 15 fps lock when using DSFix? Running on an I7-3610QM with a 680m. Could have sworn I had it at 30 fps yesterday. I just got home from work; testing the new versions and can't get it over 15.
If you go into the PC Settings screen, does it show your monitor's refresh rate as 60Hz?

If there's ever a 60 FPS solution, it'll be a lot more involved than that. People have already unlocked the framerate, but the game's speed scales to it.
So what's the difference in between the AF modes? Not sure what downsampling implies with regards to AF.
Ya I just confirmed downsampling is working for me.
mod removed: 10% gpu usage (wow take off the mod and run around a bit, makes you really appreciate Durante).
Mod set to render at 1080p: 18% usage
Mod set to render at 1440p: 35% usage
Scales linearly like Durante said initially, just not used to Downsampling like this so wanted to verify that it was working correctly.
What do you use to see your GPU usage as you play?
Mod still works great but unfortunately, regardless of res, it still has the odd slowdown to 15 and seldom hitch below 30. It's inconsistent and I want that fixed more than anything now that the res is good enough.
I can go to lower than native res and it still does that slowdown too so my rig is not some inferior garbage heap as much as the games programming is utter garbage.
Upping the res to 2440p made my GPU usage go to 54%. No more. Frustratingly terrible. Horrendously optimized or utter incompetence on From's part.

MSI Afterburner is what I use.
Ok, I have a quick question:
My monitor is 16:10 so my ideal resolution is 1920x1200. However the game obviously runs in 16:9 as I get letterbox even when I set it to this mode.
I'm a bit confused as to how I should configure all the resolution settings in the mod and in game.
Should it look like this:
Internal Rendering:
2560 x 1440
presentWidth 2560
presentHeight 1440
Then in game:
1920 x 1080
Or should I just go ahead and tell it to render in game at 1920x1200?
Also when I selected "forceFullscreen" the game crashes everytime whether or not I have the ingame menu set to "full screen." However, if I don't turn on Fullscreen in the .ini I can set it to fullscreen in game just fine. Suggestions?
Unless there has been an update past V3 that i have not noticed you will notice there is a Big section in the Cfg for Durante's fix that says those setting are not to be used yet....
Yeah I have been looking around on various forums seems alot of people having the drops to 15PS issues regardless of hardware.
For those who claim they are running it a 30fps without any drops at all I would like to know your set ups.
Anyone on an E8500 3.16 ghz running this? Just curious how well it runs. Because that's what I have.
Wait, what setttings should not be used? I read the readme and I only changed the things it suggested changing.
###############################################################
# The settings below are not yet ready to use! #
###############################################################
# You can only set either forceFullscreen or forceWindowed (or neither)
# 0 = off, 1 = on
forceWindowed 0
forceFullscreen 0
# The following settings are only functional if either forceFullscreen or forceWindowed is enabled
# The display width/height
presentWidth 3840
presentHeight 2160
# turn on/off Vsync
enableVsync 0
# adjust display refresh rate in fullscreen mode - this is NOT linked to FPS!
fullscreenHz 60
In the actual Dsfix.Cfg file were you should be changing the settings for the fix, you will notice....
Ah, gotcha. I somehow misread that.
I'll change them back. Although I guess technically they are already turned off since "forced Window" wasn't turned on (as when I turn it on it crashes).
But I guess I should still be using 1080P 16bit in game even though I have a 16:10 monitor?

Well you can use 32bit if you think your compy can handle it.
I think it should be?
It's a i7 920 with CrossFire Radeon 6870s.
Although it seems to be having a bit of a frame rate dip now and then as is. Maybe I need to adjust some settings in AMD Catalyst or re-install Radeon Pro (which I uninstalled and used D3D Overrider instead to fix Darksiders 2 V-sync problems).
Hmm should 30fps lock be on by default? Because I swear it bumps way over that at times. It's a bit distracting actually.
How do I enable the steady 30fps lock?

I just don't know how to make this mod work. My monitor res is 1360 x 768. When I start the game, all i can see is a black screen and grey square. Any ideas?
stop making me want to buy this game immediately![]()
Low resolution assets.
Riiiiight.
FPS fix is more important IMO. Hope it is possible, Alice Madness Returns is an example of a PC game that FPS fix was successful.
Alice was fixed by simply changing 1 line in an ini file that looked exactly the same as every other UE3 title's ini file. This is slightly more complicated than that it would seem.
That is seriously gross. I mean, cool, but ew.Low resolution assets.
