The only attack that's a gamble with 4K is the homing magic beam, which can be dodged by staying close to the King's back...but not always.
The rest can be 100% dodged. Slashes can be dodged by rolling against them, the big overhead chop can be stepped to your right, and the grab can be dodged by rolling left towards the King as he starts the animation.
Anyhow, just felt like sharing my most recent PvP experience. I was replaying a Faith build, so I'm level 15 with some Chain Armor, Leather Gauntlets, Caduceus Kite Shield and Leather Boots on, and an Astora's Straight Sword (maxed, because I went and farmed lizards). I decide to do some jolly co-op, and I get summoned in Berg. Soon as I come in, there was this geared up ganker in full Darkwraith gear standing there. "Here we go", I'm thinking.
As soon as I come in, dude tries to backstab me after the summon. I roll and dodge the attempt. Me and the host are standing there and he tries to come at me with the Darksword R2. Unluckily for him, this was what I was expecting. I parry his R2 and riposte him for like 60% of his HP. Dude was in panic mode now because some seemingly low geared noob just riposted his ass. He backs off and goes for another ganker special: Firestorm. I charge down the steps and in two deft slashes, kill him mid cast. In the end he didn't land a single hit on me or the host. I then taunt him, as I do all twinked out asshole griefers, and bow to my host. We then proceed to Taurus Demon and kill him without incident. Feels good man.
I'm still laughing thinking how mad that guy was that he got killed by an Astora's Straight Sword. XD
