Hes not wrong. Pokemon fans and Zelda fans are generally blind and highly ignorant of these issues. If Sony or MS made a game that looked like this, people would lose their shit.
OP completely made up the title quoteIs...that the tweet the actual title is referring to? Because that is not someone calling the game bland.
It doesn't work like that. Maybe if they can make a game that can do what this game can do in terms of systemic events, level of interaction, sense of detail, seamless vertical connection from the highest sky island to the lowest point of the undergrounds, we'll see what scores they get. Because i don't know if this game deserves every bit of praise it gets but at least it seems way more impressive to me than anything Microsoft put out, especially when you can hold it in your hands.Next gen Sony and Microsoft will release purposely underpowered hardware to lower expectations and therefore reaping 10/10s where scores were previously dinged for graphics.
"Jaffe ex-sony staff, GOW creator, GOW = PS first party IP !!!!???????..........................Playstation X Sony bad!!!" - fanboy on twitterThe headline sounds like a PR nightmare for Sony
"David Jaffe believes that people have a double standard for certain video games, depending on the console they are released on..."

Man I'm having so much trouble deciding what "side of history" davidjaffe is on?! Is he "part of the problem" or "part of the solution"? Can you be both?Jaffe needs attention.
He's also made jokes about black people just recently. We should stop posting his incendiary diatribes.
- It's Jaffe... no surprise here.
- He is not lying considering the visuals... then again, what did anyone expect? it's on the Switch.
- It's Jaffe, so one would think that being he is/was a developer he should be firmly away of what shoud be capable visually considering the hardware.
- Have I mentioned its Jaffe?
I honestly wouldn't be able to make a better looking game on the Switch hardware lol.
So that leaves the question. What can the developers do to make the game look better besides delaying it to the next console?
Windwaker on GameCube and the hd version on the wii u looked better."depending on the console they're released on"
Well, yeah. I don't think it's realistic to expect a Switch to have PS5 or even PS4 visuals. BOTW already maxed out its capabilities back in 2016. Pokemon rightfully got shat on because the Switch proved it could do more. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and BOTW is as good as the Switch can do.
"David Jaffe believes that people have a double standard for certain video games, depending on the console they are released on..."
Dunno about TOTK (I'm still fiddling with reshade), but BOTW looks so much better just after simple and very moderate colour bump.Where do people get those ugly screens? This and BotW are like a Studio Ghibli movie. It looks fantastic in both portable and docked.
I mean theres a screenshot circulating of Link standing on the exact same location as in BOTW and it's literally 0.01 changes after 5 years and game gets 10/10. Im not saying TOTK is a bad game but AAAAANY other franchise would be slammed for looking the same and having same locations 5 years later.
That was a joke post...It doesn't work like that. All of this seems completely off topic to me. Except for the framerate and dynamic resolution that are technical flaws. The debates surrounding this game in particular shouldn't be about that in my opinion.
I know your post was a joke but i wasn't sure if it was sarcastic or not. Because yes some people actually think that media will dismiss any criticism about technical aspects because of the hardware the game is released on and that in that sense (perhaps not only in that sense though) there is a "double standard" like some people on this thread said. That was a joke post...
Do you really think anyone with a half-functioning brain would think what I wrote!?
There's a solution to this but we don't talk about it.
I does work though. It worked with BoTW, everybody praised the artstyle at the time.To all those saying "It's on the Switch", or "the hardware is shit"... that's complete horseshit and you know it!
I agree totally with SlimySnake , Windwaker on the WiiU with its fully cell-shaded graphics looks way better. They could have and should have gone with fully cell-shaded graphics.
The current visuals, together with BOTW, are horribly muddy and low quality. It's not a hardware limitation at all, but rather technical artistic choices that clearly don't work.
I'm firmly in the "indifferent" category someone brought up some posts above us. In my opinion, reviewers actually for once are doing it right when valuing mechanics, overall gameplay fun and art direction over sheer graphics. And I don't even own a Switch (yet). The Order 1886 wasn't a better game because the graphics were incredible.I know your post was a joke but i wasn't sure if it was sarcastic or not. Being port of a Wii U game? Doubt. Nintendo just didn't care to change/improve the visuals.BOTW already maxed out its capabilities back in 2016.
Alright Luke Plunkett, cool it.nintendo is immune to criticism because they are japanese. We all know it, he knows it. He juts cant say it.
