I watched the movie, I'll wait until the extended cut to talk more about it. The first act just flowed like shit, like it was hacked to pieces.

Now I'm not saying the extended cut is gonna make it a great movie but it'll make it a hell lot more watchable. The other stuff flowed better for me.

It's a mess, a
beautiful
mess.

Not going to lie, it did make me excited for the shared universe, for some reason, I just really like these characters and seeing them interact with each other in live action just made me giddy. So ready for Wondy's solo movie.

Lol. I remember when you were so mad because of early reactions. I told you! Stop worrying about shit when you're interested in something and watch it for yourself!

Jealous of the Glory that is Johnny Depp
Also Gal and Amy slept together.

Snyder is going to lean towards your ear and whisper.

"You want a good movie, but you need the bad spectacle."
I honestly feel like the dude has a good movie on him, like he is very close to it, but then fails miserably for some reason. I don't get it.

Nope just funny stories. Conan called out Bruce for sleeping with Superman's mom.

Also Gal and Amy slept together.

Don't forget Eisenberg implying Affleck was lacking in the manhood area. Affleck came back with "Henry likes it." On Bruce sleeping with Ma Kent, Diane Lane said "Momma's been naughty." That actually happened.

In my dream scenario the next round of movies to be anounced will be this:

Solo Batflek movie(hints of potential trilogy)- base movie off older, veteran Batman stories. Perhaps introduce Huntress (it'd be interesting to see Batman discovering he has a daughter and exploring that relationship), Nightwing, Oracle, Red Hood, etc. I imagine while Red Hood will be the main adversary for Batman in the movie, the Joker and Harley Quinn will likely play a role. Given hints of her portrayal in SS, I could see them give her a slight redemption arc and obtain anti-hero/tragic villian status. In the new 52 comics she also has a relationship with Poison Ivy.

MoS 2- more focused on Clark Kent's life as well as his relationship with Lois. Have their be a lot of banter and fun moments between Lois and Clark. The plot is that Lex Luthor is running for presidency. His campaign runs on a fear of Superheroes/vigilantes. His campaign is reminiscent of Trump's. Perry assigns Lois and Clark to covering the campaign. In their investigations they discover that he is working with Milton Fine on a top secret project and is harvesting kryptonite. Milton Fine is working on creating Bizarro funded by LexCorp. Milton Fine is actually Brainiac but is using Milton Fine as a cover. Brainiac sets a trap at the FoS sending Clark to the Phantom Zone. Martian Manhunter reveals himself to Lois telling her who he is, mentions he used to apart of the Justice Society of America and informs her of Clark's danger. He teams up with Batman and WW to enter the PZ and get Clark out of there. Lois stays behind and continues her work and covering for Clark's absence. Cat Grant is partnered with Lois, due to Clark's absence, who is a pro-Lex supporter at the DP to offer a contrasting opinion to Lois. Bizarro is complete and quickly acts as an imposter Superman. Bizarro also has a particular interest in Lois as well. Movie covers how Lois deals with developments in the real world and the other team in the PZ working on saving Clark. They eventually all make it out of the PZ. Superman vs. Bizarro, Superman wins. Superman vs. Brainiac, Superman destroys Brainiac except Brainiac infected Lex Luthor. So a tiny part of Brainiac lives in Lex Luthor that will eventually gain full control. Lex Luthor wins presidency of the US.

Suicide Squad V. Justice League: Checkmate- The goverment organization, Checkmate, under authorization of President Luthor has taken a strict view against superheroes/vigilantes/Supervillians. They have decided to utilize the Suicide Squad to capture all known individuals who fit that description and force them to work for the goverment on special task missions. The first ones targeted are an older underground superhero group that existed decades ago known as the Justice Society of America having superheroes such as Doctor Fate, Hawkman, Hourman, Atom, Martian Manhunter, Wild Cat, etc. as well as a few younger apprentices such as Stargirl, Cyclone, etc. As SS begins to carry out the mission, locating the members of the JSA. The JSA reaches out to the JLA for help. The JSA and JLA don't see eye to eye on some things and they do fight. However they team up to face SS as well as defeating all of the different chess players in Checkmate. Towards the end of the film some or all members of SS turn against the government/Checkmate/Luthor. Perhaps split the film with pt. 1 continuing SS' story and targeting JSA members. While also establishing the hierarchy at Checkmate. Then spend the other part of the film on establishing the characters from JSA and the conflict between SS and them. End the film with the JSA reaching out to the JLA. Have pt. 2 deal with the JLA vs. SS.

Conan clips are great, cast seems to have fun.

''We slept together''

Hnnng.....

You guys laugh, but WB is so reactionary and obsessed with what Marvel is doing.....

JL2 ending: whole team dancing while Batman is singing to defeat Darkseid. You watch. It will be glorious. And you'll like it. But it will be dark. So it's a sad dance. And a sad song. Probably My Immortal or something like that.

Well, to be fair, Batman's voice has saved the day before.

As far as dream DC films:

I'd love Suicide Squad like 3 to be based on Villains United, the Squad vs the Crime Syndicate would be amazing.

I don't know what WB's plan with the JSA is. They had some teases on LoT but they weren't the big time JSA members like Jay, Alan, Fate and Spectre.

A JSA movie I think would be their version of a light hearted justice league, set it in WW2 and have it with more jokes. Then after the first first movie, have them reappear in current day, adding Stargirl and Mr. Terrific.

I really love everything of what I'm seeing of Wonder Woman but I am worried, that they are going back to film Suicide Squad in order to add more humor, if this is true.

And Batman v Superman has made $530 million worldwide so far right? My guess before release was $800 million. How much do we expect it to reach at this point? Or will we have a more clear picture of its legs by next weekend?

Reshoots happen all the time during post production. Sometimes in the editing room, they're not a 100% satisfied with the flow of the movie or the acting performances or whatever. It's highly unlikely it's a kneejerk reaction of BvS. I wouldn't worry about the humour personally. David Ayer gets black comedy.

The Wonder Woman images are great!

Also it seems like the reshoots might well be for just one or two characters. Other actors are filming other things right now it seems. To change the tone of a film it requires more then a few reshoots I believe. You'd have to go back into full production I be someone once said as those are significant changes that will be being made to the story.

$900+ should be pretty certain at this point. It should be around $700m after this weekend. I believe it will pass a billion due to the lack of competition until it's 4th week. By that point it will have made its money already.

Yeah, reshoots are very common, I just worried it was a reaction to BvS, which it is hopefully not. :)

Not sure what this means but the entire weekend, screenings in BvS are empty. Not sure if that's normally the case but Star Wars was sold out for almost 3 weeks here. It was also Christmas break.

So Eh Maybe has a scoop on potential JL arc

https://youtu.be/JPbxV1tSrps

Seems like, and think some folks got this from the set photos that it will deal with some conflict with Atlantis

I don't think that's a scoop... Terrio himself said he's researching the trench and stuff.

EDIT: Apparently it's tracking to drop by 65-67%... this thing might barely cross 1B kicking and screaming... but it might not.

Think I'm done following the box office numbers for this. It will fall where it falls going forward. Doesn't change my enjoyment of the film or how many times I saw it and will likely see it again. I can only hope they don't have another negative reception like the did with this one. Time to worry about other things I don't have control over I guess.

There was a time before. A time above. There were perfect RT ratings. Boxoffice hope absolute. But things fall. And what falls is fallen.

Box Office Mojo is predicting $58.1 M

maybe we'll go back to dick measuring contests.

based Goyer knew what critics wanted all along.

Wonder how he feels about all this. I'm guessing he still did some part of the story, but he must be tired of angry nerds blaming him for everything.

Wonder how the entire production feels. I get the feeling there is great movie but it got butchered to meet a running time constraint. I suppose we'll see with the extended edition.

Well, this is out of nowhere. My mom must have overheard my praise for the film and surprised me today with this:

It's a commemorative coin. I'm not sure if they do this in the States but I think they have a deal with DC in Canada because they also did something similar with the 75th anniversary of Superman and Batman.

It's kinda awesome.

Everything but Batman must've still be Goyer...

I think it's a bit cringey what the SS marketing team is doing now on twitter.

So the marketing campaign for Suicide Squad is going to lean heavily on Joker I bet... #JokerWasHere

I don't think it will reach a billion, I'm thinking around $700 million. I truly truly hope I'm wrong though.

700M and there's some heads that will roll I bet.

3rd viewing tonight! Very excited to see it again, probably one more showing after that before it leaves theaters.

3rd viewing this weekend. It really felt like a DC Animated movie come to life. They really don't hold back from the ballsy decisions.

This is looking like it has no chance to beat Deadpool domestically the way it's been dropping. Looking like a near 70% drop this weekend.

Who would have guessed just a few months back?

I don't care how big Deadpool ended up being, if BvS doesn't beat an R-rated comic book movie based on a B-tier superhero domestically that's a huge disappointment.

Unfathomable.

While I wouldn't relegate Deadpool to "b-tier movie that's just rated R" because it did break records as well, this is all on WB. If this movie had MOS type word of mouth, this thing is clearing 1B. These are AAA-list characters that WB just took a swing and hit a line drive. (don't watch baseball but that sounds right lol)

The better analogy is WB took a porn hack and fouled off the pitch.

I'm okay with that, speaking as a guy who likes BvS and wasn't crazy about Deadpool. The whole production behind Deadpool is fascinating and awesome.

For all the "trailer ruined BvS"... Deadpool shot it's wad with it's trailer far worse. Gave away about 80% of the joke material along with the thin plot. Also, I felt Force Awakens was easier to piece together than BvS from the trailers.

War had incredibly poor worldbuilding. Like, how WW suddenly became America's ambassador made no sense. Batman and GL just find Clark in an abandoned warehouse. Shazam shows up for no real reason. Hopefully JL1 won't fall into the same trap.
