At least with Batman, he wears powered armor when he goes toe to toe with Superman, so I can somewhat suspend my disbelief. Kind of like how Iron Man's suit can absorb blows.

The Flash just wears spandex. I'm sorry, but that doesn't mean he should visibly be seen hurt. If he does have the power to change the properties of his molecules, then have Superman's punches hit air since I assume he can make himself gaseous.

The Flash can do all things through Speedforce which strengthens him. Amen.

so like viagra. gotcha.

Yeah the pills are ridiculous. If Superman actually tagged a normal Barry with enough force to kill a human, it would kill him. Deathstroke shot impulse's kneecap and injured it enough to be replaced, I'm pretty sure Wally or Barry can't take a punch like that without vibrating their molecules to completely avoid it. Plenty of times Grodd has screwed up both too. The Flash's feats are wildly inconsistent with his actual combat performance between books. I think he's a bit too overrated in fan's minds and I don't think DC's editorial would write Superman losing to Wally or Barry very often, if at all.

The closest you're going to get is the Flash's vs Superboy Prime, and they couldn't figure out anyway to stop him so they put him into the speed force, which he still escaped from. This was after Wally knew how to steal kinetic speed and all that. So yeah, feats are meaningless.

Flash can't use superpills, his metabolism would erase its effects anyways

He should time travel to prevent Regime Superman's bad day

Seems like he'll have the full power of the Speedforce

"Rick, why are you billing us $1000s of dollars in Flash action figures, statues and bobble heads??"

"It's for research, I promise"

Which is crazy cause Hamill is on fire in Arkham.

The Injustice and watch dogs threads are embarrassing. We just had 5 months of SFV coverage of why pandering to the FGC is bad, and now Injustice 2 sucks going for the mainstream market.

So weird.

The gear system sounds like a mess for online fights. It's an alright idea for the single player though I guess. But there better be a classic vs. mode.

Anyways flash rebirth was great. Wonder Woman rebirth wasn't instantly grabbing me like that did but I see potential in it.

I would imagine some sort of armor-less mode would exist otherwise you create an issue with skins for DLC later on. Unless you can choose whether or not to "show" your physical upgrades and the DLC just auto-hides them while keeping the stats.

Wonder Woman Rebirth required being intimately aware of what a mess Wonder Woman continuity is and being as frustrated with it as Rucka clearly is. Without that, it was just okay.

Injustice 2's gear system doesn't sound appealing at all. That said, everyone go vote for Blue Beetle.

I really liked WW Rebirth for that reason

Made me excited with the hope that Rucka is looking to put a definitive stamp on the character. Very excited for his Year One arc.

Yea, I caught on to that almost immediately. I was like, "Oh, they are finally going to clean this up." As I said in the Rebirth thread I half-expected her BvS continuity to be mingled in considering how close her new suit looks to Gal's.

DC Editorial would have to get behind him for that. If they just let the next writer say "Fuck all that" like they've let Wonder Woman writers do for decades, it will be all for naught.

If the Wonder Woman movie hits big, I think that'll be where they start with making definitive decisions on the character and what elements are necessary.

Liking everything except the thin Batman suit.

There's gotta be something to that scene, because in those set photos, the stunt double looked like he had on the same swole suit from BvS

I like brick shithouse Bats, but I do think it was a bit crazy in some scenes. This might have been too slimming, but I like it.

burly Batman looked great at times but in stills he looked kinda chunky. like his picture on the BluRay cover is hilarious.

i'd be down for the suit to slim down tbh. that display they have at the dc exhibit is perfect.

The neck is just too thick. I'd like to see it with the cape draped over his shoulders, rather than folded back. Or go the easier route and make the head-helmet and neck separate pieces. Cowl looks incredible in the knightmare when you have the coat collar obscuring his thick neck.

Other alternation I'd make is uncovering the bottom of the nose. No clue how much is there for function or design, but it'd help with certain shots to break up the blackness.

To be fair there's an episode from the flash this season where Cisco makes a suit that indeed can withstand super strong punches. Or rather, one punch. I forgot what it was

It was one punch.

That's what I said..

But I mean, that was Barry without powers, and a quick fix by Cisco. My point was that it's possible in "comics land" to create a suit that can withstand strong punches without instantly dying. Just trying to give that guy another reason other than "because speed force" =P

We're now trying to apply comic book logic to a fighting videogame made by NetherRealm Studios. This thread's going places.

Saw this cool fan made poster in style of Manhunter. Would love to see Affleck do a proper Batman detective type thriller.

Fincher would crush it if he were given the chance.

I've always wondered what a Michael Mann batman would look like too lol. The batman and robin/batmobile scenes would be lit.

Isn't WW's (the movie) origin story going to be based off the Azzarello N52 run though? I don't want that. Especially with the whole amazons seducing sailors then killing them schtick.

George Perez' origin story >>>

Well we all want that. But DC is hellbent on abandoning the made of clay origin and the hype surrounding Azz's run means it'll be a big influence on future projects.

Nah, I think I'm gonna vote Swamp Thing.

Have you not heard of the first Injustice game?

There's been some speculation that it's a brawler. Wouldn't be the first genre shift with a sequel.

You mean like an arena fighter? Eesh, that'll be a tough sell for me. I'm not a fan of those.
When I hear brawler, I think of beat'em ups like the recent TMNT game. Arena fighters, something like Smash Bros. Loot and upgrade systems sound like they'd be more fitting for those genres, but NetherRealm would be crazy to try either of those.

Don't screw it up, just give us another fighter.

I'm thinking more along the lines of Power Stone.

A DC beat em up in the style of MK Shaolin Monks would be dope. Back during the PS2 days, when X-Men Legends and Marvel Ultimate Alliance were kicking ass, I was excited for that Justice League game but it wasn't nearly as good as those.

Shaolin Monks was such a cool game. I'm surprised we never got s sequel to that or any other games in that vein. It might not be able to work for Justice League, but you can easily imagine a Suicide Squad game in that style. The co-op would sell itself.

Not to get too comic book Nerd, but basically the Speed Force itself absorbs the bulk of hits that happen against the Flash, it's not to the level of Supes, but he can take super strong punches in the comics and be ok.
