What is Dead by Daylight?

Dead by Daylight is an indie horror game developed and published by Behaviour Interactive. Dead by Daylight is both an action and survival horror multiplayer game in which one crazed, unstoppable Killer hunts down four Survivors through a terrifying nightmarish world in a deadly game of Cat & Mouse.

• As a Survivor, go in alone or team up with friends to face an unknown threat. Use Items at hand, unlocked abilities and environmental objects to outwit the Monster and escape from its killing grounds.​
• Set in procedurally generated Maps, you'll never know what to expect, what you're facing and how to get away. You will have to make desperate choices under stressful circumstances. Every decision impacts your chances of survival.​

  Which platforms are included in cross-play?
  You will be able to play between Steam, Microsoft Store, Xbox One, Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch. The Dead by Daylight Mobile game is not included in cross-play. Stadia will also join other platforms at launch
  
  If other platforms have content I cannot access on my platform, what will happen when I play with these players?
  You will play against these players as you would any other, you will see the content as they play it. The only restriction is that you will not be able to access the content if it isn’t available on your platform.
  
  
  What happens if one platform gets an update late?

I like this game, I have 60 hours on it. However recently its been taking a long time to get into matches. Also the game lags in the menus but its fine once the match begins.

Really even after crossplay? I have been finding matches super quick. The only time I have had long queues are at night. What time zone are you in?

Yeah, even after crossplay, I also feel like I'm waiting a real long time for matches. Not every time, but I've waited as long as 5 minutes for a group to matched up with.

Those new graphics look amazing but the base game still runs like dog shit for killers even on a Scorpio. Why would I want even better graphics, lol.

Pretty decent killer perks. Survivor not so much. I guess the healing one is ok.

I’ve been stuck on this challenge for the tome to stun a killer three times in a match for days now. I always either get some killer that super respects pallets or a killer that negates pallets like Nurse or Huntress.

I’ve been loving Bubba since the update.

PSA if anyone plays Dead by Daylight on their switch. There is a glitch that when it is docked the graphics will look super blurry like its in handheld mode. Just undock and redock your switch while Dead by Daylight is open and it will be fixed.

Blight is fun but not a great killer. Compound 21 or whatever the add on is that lets you see auras any time you slam, that shit is busted lol.

Unsurprisingly, on my Xbone X, the game runs like doodoo ever since the update. Especially Blight, have to restart the game constantly to keep it playable. Otherwise the frame drops are just ridiculous.

Well I'm sure the suit is coming next, or now they might both drop in the same patch. As the Old Lady cosmetic was removed from the dev build of the upcoming mid-chapter patch. It's being delayed for whatever reason.

The NOES characters are the only ones not playable on the Switch. The issue with the NOES license is that the Wes Craven estate used a US law to reclaim the American copyright for the script of the first film. So now NOES has two owners: the Craven Estate and Warner Btothers.

It should be noted the reclamation happened in mid 2019 and the NOES chapter has not been removed from the game. Unlike MK 9 which had to be removed because of the Freddy license change.

Not only has the NOES content stayed after the license transfer, it’s gotten major changes with Freddy’s rework, the first Badham rework, his wall breaking animation, and the second Badham changes.

So it’s clear all 3 parties (Cravens, WB, BHVR) have come to a temporary agreement to keep Freddy in DBD.

Now when they agree to a more permanent agreement that includes the Switch, Stadia, and Windows Store platforms is anyone’s guess.

To provide an update on this, Matthieu MCote in a dev stream on licensing, announced the NOES content will become playable on all remaining platforms soon.

Oh and the new killer is 99% an OG. A Spanish fog whisperer accidentally implied that yesterday. He also claimed it would be their "biggest chapter yet." Whatever that means.

Though if you watch the teaser it does seem to imply the next killer walks on all four. So this might be our first killer to do so, and our second monster killer after the Demogorgon.

New killer is The Twins, some Master Blaster type shit. I’m watching people play the PTB right now. You have this little Gollum like thing you can unleash and he can pounce on survivors but gets no Bloodlust. You can also leave him somewhere on the map and get notifications when a survivor is near.

No idea on the perks or survivor.

I adored this game when I was in the 10-20 bracket. Everyone was nice, people had fun, I often got messages from people telling me how good I was as a killer/survivor and that they enjoyed the game so much etc. we goofed around with the killers and just had fun. Then I hit the 1-5 bracket after a few days of playing and that turned into a polar opposite. Nobody was cooperating, everyone was treating each other horribly, taunting, t-bagging one another constantly. I got at least one hate message practically every game, telling me how shit I play, that I chase only them that I suck and should kill myself etc. I have never seen such a terribly toxic community in my life, this is like meeting the most insane Polish players in League but in every game.
