I'll use the first three sent for me and my friends.
Quick question though: If I already have an account, will I still be able to get the 5$ off?
Sure, just log in with the referal link to be safe. Worked for me.JCV said:Thanks for the referral links (all 5 of them actually ahaha)!

Huh.Twinduct said:LOL, people are quick
Nope you can't if you already have an account.

Huh.
Hm, I had not bought anything yet, maybe thats why? I am reading the rules currently, and it really sounds like you have to make an account with that link. Hm.Twinduct said:Really? I already had an account and it wouldn't do the whole $5 referral thing?

Yeah exactly. I then went to the shop and bought it, and it worked for both of us. It did not give me any message or some other notice regarding the referral, the credit money was just there then.Twinduct said:Don't think I bought anything before I was referred. But I did have an account. When using the link it just defaulted it to my account page (even if I log out and log back in via link)

It will if you can run it higher than 720p at 60FPS with vsync enabled, if not then go with console if that is your preferred gaming.Raider82 said:So is the PC version the version to get? Or is everyone just getting in on the PC because it's like half the price of the console versions?

if not, does it run well on a low end pc? if so there is more chance of a good performance in 3D...
I used to think 3D was a gimmick till I played new vegas in 3D.

If it is like a good old Fabio Frizzi, Blix and Vincent T score than.....brandonh83 said:shit, really? does it remind you of stuff like Lucio Fulci's Zombi? I was on the fence about this one, I have Resistance 3 paid off but that could easily be moved over to this one. if it had that kind of music and atmosphere it will be a no-brainer for me.
btw: you zombie folks who haven't seen Fulci's Zombi, do so. it features a zombie shark and one of the greatest eyeball deaths ever filmed.

all you have to do is pause and press Y (360 version). Might be confusing at first since it isn't a menu option, just says it in the lower left corner of the pause screen.

The GT review pretty much says you should play it co-op. You don't have to, but you really, really should.eshwaaz said:I hope the game is still worthwhile as a single player experience as I have no interest in co-op. The idea of an action/RPG that takes place on a sprawling island resort is very appealing to me, but co-op focused games, like Borderlands and FEAR 3, can be boring and tedious when played alone.

My playthrough for Dead Islands review was on the PC version, and it was a buggy, strange affair. Im not sure if it was my review build or if the retail version will be the same way, but Im forced to warn players away from it. Visual bugs infected the entire experience: my copy would never render fire or steam escaping from vents, or even the gross Boomer-like spit of certain zombie types. I had to use my imagination and lighting clues to guess where fire was so I could avoid getting burned, and despite my character yelling Damn! whenever I blew something up, I never got to see an explosion. Cutscenes, too, occasionally suffered some really weird visual issues. Audio also would sometimes cut in and out, and I caught more than one NPC switching voice actors from encounter to encounter. However, I played a fairly complete preview build of the first hour on Xbox 360 with no similar problems so I cant be sure if its just me, or if the PC version really does have so many problems.

The guy who wrote that review is a poster on the Dead Island forums, btw. Personally, I'm staying away until a patch is released, or until there are more opinions on the PC version.
