It's much harder to solo w/ analog. Makes playing in a group more fun, because it's actually kind of tactical... but solo, better have some explosives to deal with mobs, or you're fucked.

Hell, just dealing with more than two is a challenge.

It was like this for a while. I'm about level 10 now and I've gotten fairly good so it's not an issue anymore. Game is just boring with digital fighting.

Some advice... since I just did this (

) if you go the wrong way, you'll be blocked by an impassable wooden fence. If you're at the lighthouse, you need to travel NW to get there... going NE from the LH along the coast and they throw up a barrier. FOr like no reason. I was so pissed. But I did find a crate with my first orange weapon pickup that made the trip worth it. But that was luck.

My main issue with it is that I lose camera control while aiming... makes CQB too clunky imo. But I like it with other people playing.

PC? That kind of messed up with the default FOV since being able to see only one enemy left me pretty defenseless. Once I turned it up it became easier.

Is anyone else having a problem with using a controller, in that if they toggle controllers on, they can't use the keyboard to type messages to other players in co-op?

If so - that's kind of silly, and kind of annoying.

Still. Loving the game.

Working as intended. :/

That's some BS. Hopefully they patch it.

I love this game! So addicting and fun, not to mention tge analog controls make killing zombies super satisfying.

But does anyone have tips for fighting 3 or more of the fast infected type zombies? I can't ever seem to get them on the ground.

Jump kick.

Er, anyone having a problem with only being able to join Chapter 1 games in co-op on PC? For a split second I'll see Chapter 2 games pop up (I'm on Chapter 2), then disappear and have a list full of Chapter 1. I don't get the nearby player prompt anymore either. It may have started happening after I did the FOV fix that was posted on Reddit.

So I've got my PS3 copy in shrinkwrap, begging to be opened. Kinda hesitant though, what with all complaints about bugs and what not. I'm aware of the patch issues, and the dangers of playing both before and after downloading it, so do any UK gaffers here playing on the PS3 know if we've got the patch yet? I'd rather download it as soon as possible and get that out of the way so I don't have to worry about my saves later on.

The patch apparently fixed the save game issue. It messes up trophy progress though but if you haven't started the game it shouldn't be a problem

There's an annoying bug where the cursor will jump to a random item when selling things, I haven't signed into XBL yet but hopefully they will sort this problem.

So um... is there any way to look behind (rear view) while driving?

Turns out I spoke too soon. Booted it up this morning, and lost most of my progress from last night. Guess it only breaks when you turn the console off or quit the game entirely to the XMB (even after quitting via the menu).

Great!

Wow. I really hope that doesn't happen to me, I don't feel like doing these sidequests AGAIN.

This game in Act 2 is what Resident Evil 5 should have been if we look at that game from that first trailer, especially if they had to shoehorn co-op into it.

Act II was my favorite part, massive difficulty ramp up, amazing environments, gun play. It was all just sooooooo good.

where do you get D3DOverrider from? i googled it and it takes me to rivatuner. i download rivatuner and i don't see anything about it. it shows the "target adapter" which has my graphics card and monitor but there's nothing about D3D or vsync or anything like that. what am i missing?

In the Rivatuner start menu folder, there should be a d3doverrider shortcut.

oh sweet, i found it. so vsync and triple buff are on, as long as D3D is open i can just start playing a game and it will have those effects on?

Agreed. Makes selling lots of stuff extremely annoying...

Has anyone beaten the game entirely solo? I've no interest in co-op, but still want to be able to complete the game without teeth-gnashing frustration.

Also - any 360 patch yet?

For some reason this game ignore's D3Doverrider triple buffering and vsync now. I'm trying everything to make it work. It won't lock to 60fps and there's tearing and 70-100 frame rates making it jittery.

edit: Fixed. In Nvidia control panel I had Vsync: Force off.

I'm about 60% through solo on 360. So far it's not that frustrating. I tend to go like two hours without dying, then go through a spurt of like 8 deaths in a row.

This game is great. There's nothing like hearing "crunch" when you break a zombie's arm with a hammer. So satisfying.

Also, fuck those Ram zombies. Seriously.

Even this did not work as expected. I obtained a quest item at the lighthouse, but didn't bring it back to the guy at the lifeguard station yet. When I reloaded just now, I'm at the lifeguard station that item isn't in my inventory. It didn't save when I got to the ligthouse and quit.

This game is not good if you plan on / can only play it in short bursts.

what sucks the most is you're very low on health and there's a chaser LOL. i was being chased back to the HQ. i was too way too. all i saw was the front and a scream coming behind me. i was like. stop turn around and kick it and try to kill it. or miss and die because i ran too much and had no more stamina lol. good stuff. won't do that again though.

OK, apparently this program has fixes for the following:

Remove stuttering / jerkiness caused by repeated keystrokes… without using Filter Keys

Fixes sluggish mouse in menus

Disable / enable SSAO shader for increased performance on some configurations (NVIDIA only)

Disable / enable motion blur, as some people just don’t like it

NEW in v1.1: Disable / enable bloom and weapon refraction
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm yet to try it but I saw the post above about the mouse movement and I remembered reading about this. I can't promise anything ala VAC issues obviously though.

Awesome, I'll have to try this when I get home. Thanks for posting

I chose to play as Xian, after about 10 hours playing I'm kind of regretting that choice, sick of those huge zombie thugs killing me in two or three hits.

I gotta say, I was a bit bored for the first few quests, but once I got into the swing of things, I'm finding the game to be quite addictive. I have a few complaints, but it's certainly a lot of fun to play. Changing the FOV to 82.5 definitely improves the experience a good deal, too.

I know this might sound obvious, but are you swiping them and then quickly dodging backwards? Because its pretty easy to get by without them getting a hit on you if you just fight them like that.

My friend plays as Sam B and I play as Xian... I do better against thugs than he does. I get in there and chop off limbs using analog really easy. Sometimes if I'm lucky I get their arm right when they're swinging at me.

They butter give us a manual save.

I thought that was an obvious feature games have. Heck, Dead Rising 2 and GTA have better save systems.

I can't believe people think/thought this was going to be a triple-A game. Is it enjoyable? Yeah I guess, but it's not a well made game at all. Tons of bad design decisions, cut corners, glitches, and useless and dumb stuff. I said to my co-op buddy while we were playing it today "This is the worst good game ever made." That's how I feel about it.
Well said.

This game is very tempting. Is there a lot of mission variety? On the Giant Bomb QL they said it is kind of MMO like. Does that mean a lot of "kill 5 zombies" and "collect 5 zombie teeth"?

So far, no real variety. All fetch quests, just excuses to walk places and kill zombies

There's definitely some of that.

If a friend asked me whether or not to pick the game up, I would say wait for a patch or two. No more pre order bonuses so there's no real rush (unless if you want a new game now).

If you want it, get the 360 version. If that's not possible, the PC is the second best choice.

There's a bunch of "go here to this specific location and get this and bring it back to this person" or just general "if you find these supplies give them to me" quests, along with some escort missions. Not really "kill this many zombies", though there are 'boss types' but I don't know if they're attached to quests, I haven't gotten that far. I think perhaps they just get in the way of where you need to go.

It's not those style quests as much as go pick this thing up for my husband/wife, move these suitcases to form the rest of a HELP sign, go get gas cans so you can burn this pile of zombies. Mostly fetch quest stuff not 'kill dudes' as far as I have been given so far.

Couple of hours behind me, and so far at least I can say the quests are much more interesting than in Borderlands, for example.
