But all I get is every now and then 'Found an opponent but didn't meet your search criteria'... I don't wanna set opponent strength too high because I know I'm not very good...

I just play whoever. I'm only of moderate skill at best and I get steamrolled all the time. Doesn't bother me. I pick up a trick or two every once in a while and if you get slapped around enough times you start to learn move patterns for different characters which can improve your holding.
Kokoro is my weakness. I just can't figure out how to deal with a good Kokoro.

Just dive in lobbies, really the best way to go IMO. Can always spectate first to see how they are if it's in action.

This has happened to me numerous times as well. Thanks for the quick tip, I discovered that same solution power-cycling my modem, but your method is obviously faster.
Also, I never get matched up, constant "searching for opponents" but like 1 match per hour. Is there a fix for that? I have NAT 2, but fights are usually pretty smooth when I get one. Maybe it has something to do with my pitiful ranking? I'm still just an lowlie LR rank.

When in doubt mash guard to block during stun. Low holds evade highs and regular throws and are likely to recover faster, putting you at advantage. Mid punch hold is the most common hold, so if you have to guess a hold that would be the best.
I mainly have a hard time stunning people because they attack so quickly, so I have to resort to fast high punches when they're in my face but those are easy to hold. My other problem is simply my move amnesia. I forget my combos but that will probably get better over time.

Setting connection to "any" in ranked matches solved a lot of the infinte searching player problem. Around 80 % of the matches i found that way worked just fine.
The 20% lag fest matches are a fair price to pay compared to not finding players at all. At least for me it is.

It's pretty stupid actually. What point would it even have? Why not have characters completely topless at this point? Would certainly look more tasteful than this horrible design only a straight hormonally charged man would have come up with, and only a porn star would wear. My poor Christy :-(

This is exactly what this game doesn't need, but is too late, that boat shipped after the Alpha demo.
Do they actually have any normal clothes for DLC? Seems to be all crazy skimpy bikinis and cosplay outfits (maid, schoolgirl, Santa etc). What happened to the nice dresses they had in the original games? Or one piece swimsuits (I bet they have Japanese school swimsuits though..)

I find it kind of annoying that 80% of the time the AI in arcade is wearing a bikini, only so much you can put up with before it feels cheap and silly.

I am hoping for copies in different colors to be released as DLC you can buy

Only this afaik, they're only acknowledging issues at the moment, I'm guessing they're not goin to make a patch date announcement until they've got something ready.
Edit: I read something that implies buying paradise movies for some characters unlocks exclusive costumes to those movies, can anyone confirm that they can also be used in the actual game?

More than half the people in the DOAX3 thread were cheering it on. I don't see any reason for them to consider changing their stance. Whatever. While it would be nice to see a change in attitude to the franchise, i'm not gonna complain about digital tits, it is what it is at this point.
They've focused on boob physics alot but at least they haven't taken their attention away from the actual gameplay aspects. Personally I think DoA5 plays better than all previous iterations. Considering that, does it even matter that they focus on sexualizing the characters based on fan demand? I say let them do what they want so long as they don't divert their attention away from the gamelpay mechanics.

So I was looking up the costumes on the DoA wiki to figure out which characters I was going to plow through Tag Arcade mode with...and apparently a lot of the costumes you are supposed to unlock (Bikinis, Christmas outfits) were already unlocked from the beginning for me.
Did I just get mad lucky or the Wiki's wrong haha?

Unless the wiki hasn't updated and is referring to 5U and not LR.
PS3 version? Hold L1 or R1 when choosing costume. L2/R2 works for some like Kasumi (changes ribbon colour).
Hold d-pad left/right for glasses.
PS4 version? Hairstyle option comes up when you select character/costume.
