K-mart is offering $20 VG credit after purchasing DR2. For whatever reason NYC is excluded.GeoramA said:

Dead Rising 2 is a game made for people that liked what Dead Rising 1 was, not a sequel to what people wanted Dead Rising 1 to be.
I wasn't a fan of the rogue-like structure of the first game either. I can tell you (from having played Case Zero) that the addition of two more game save slots makes DR2 -much- less annoying in this regard than the first game.
Back up to $59.95. That was short-lived.GeoramA said:

Maybe i'll just play through the game in coop, i'm sure that'll help somewhat.
Ah I wasn't aware there are more save slots. Nice.
I am also waiting on my Amazon delivery. With Halo Reach, the package got here right at 3pm. Hopefully DR2 comes a bit earlier, but I have been this patient thus far, I can wait a few more hours. Was really tempted to download that Steam version last night when I saw that it was unlocked for everyone. No double dipping just yet though, I'll wait for the inevitable steam sale to get the PC version.Risible said:Amazon Release Day Delivery out for delivery! So excited, been reading this thread all week hating euro-GAF.
Dead Rising 2 can be a frustrating game, but it also has a deep sense of the fun and the absurd. Don't get stuck laughing at what you see on the screen, however, as the tone can whiplash back into social commentary very quickly. The last fourth of the game picks up the pace immensely, and the player has to quickly deal with hard decisions, surprises, and revelations. By the end, you'll be a little less sure about who the bad guys were in all this.
There are also the rednecks firing down on both zombies and survivors at one point in the game, making that section of Fortune City much more dangerous to cross. Where did they learn these skills? Why, protecting our nation's borders from those foreigners, of course. One complains that it's no fun anymore, since he's used to more people running from him as he fires at them. Machete would not approve.
The game includes co-op, but our review code did not have that feature active. There is likewise an online game called "Terror is Reality" that allows you to earn money to spend in-game. We'll be sure to post our impressions on those aspects of the game once we have the full version in our possession.
There are going to be many gamers who can't get past the timed nature of the gameplaythat aspect combined with the lack of any quick-save mechanic is often a frustration when playing the campaign, but the good drastically outweighs the bad, and it was brave of Capcom to stick to its guns on the game's design and feel. This is a unique title, and if you're willing to play a certain way, you'll be richly rewarded.

The fact Case West is not stand alone COULD mean it will use the entire Fortune City, weapons, assets, and not an original, smaller area and limited selection of items like Case Zero.
And this is good news to me.
What little we saw of the environment in the Case West teaser doesn't look like Fortune City to me. In fact: (ending spoiler)eso76 said:wait.

well, i don't think anyone wanted the survivor AI to remain terrible, but lots of people didn't want any 'escort missions'.eso76 said:True to an extent, but they did make the game more accessible. It's easier, saving all survivors on your first go doesn't seem completely impossible as it did (was?) in DR1, survivors themselves won't die as easily...And most important, there's nothing like the damn respawning CONVICTS JEEP in the middle of the map.
Sven said:In spite of prior statements, whether it requires DR2's disc or standalone is an issue we're speaking with MS about.
In short, there are different views on the matter and it is not clear which way it's going to go yet. This is going to sound self serving but as a warning, and to be safe, I would strongly advise you to hang on to your DR2 disc until that determination is made.

Work around for 360 wireless.
New edit:
Works great. Just be sure to enable the controller in PC settings.
Air Zombie Meat said:Finished the game on 360 and just getting started on pc version. Love this game. It does seem easier than DR1 but thats fine with me.
Got a couple of questions:
I see theres an acheivement for taming Snowflake the tiger. Anyone know how to do this? Tried throwing meat at it but that seemed to do nothing. Also anyone know where a drink mixer is? Didn't manage to find one the first time through.

They put my zombie poster in the game! Kind of a surprise to see this...
Risible said:I was surprised at how small your poster was in the deluxe Zombrex edition of the game .
I seriously bought that version just for your poster and was surprised to find it as a pack-in in the game case. It's smaller than the manual even. Still very cool, but I was hoping it would be a fold-out and bigger. Ah well.
Still going to frame it though .
