Dead Space 3 demo available for 360 and PS3

I hope this level is very different in the full game. I mean, the pacing didn't make any sense at all and the way the environments are connected felt weird as well.

Also don't really like how fast Issac is moving while aiming :/ Makes everything a little too fast paced.

As someone who really enjoyed the first two Dead Space games, a great number of things felt wrong about the DS3 demo. The pacing, some of the mechanics, even combat itself. While fighting against human enemies just plain didn't feel fun, the way necromorphs behave feels off as well. I just felt like things were rushing me. The feeling of horror and suspense wasn't there.

That said, its just a demo and I still have high hopes for the game. The story of Dead Space is particularly interesting to me.

I liked it. The controls felt the same for me (including my predisposition to try and fail shooting from the hip), and it looks solid. There was a small framerate problem around the first big encounter but otherwise it ran fine, and it looks great. I spent plenty of time crafting different combinations, so I definitely like that addition. Fighting humans didn't bother me, but the semi-cover mechinic is clunky at best. I loved the The Thing vibes I got from the environment, so good.

Overall it felt like Dead Space. I still want to try the coop in it, but I'll definitely pick this up.

Dead Space seems to have a weird history of rather bad demos.

If I remember correctly was DS1's demo just the reactor room where you had to fight wave after wave of enemies.
Not in the slightest representative of the final product

DS1's demo was also literally called "Dismemberment Demo" and that's exactly what it was.

Don't have a 360, hoping the demo is good. Despite all the kinect etc functionality I hope this plays at least as good as DS2 with traditional controller. Demo impressing you all so far?

It's Dead Space through and through with a few questionable game play elements added to the mix, this is no Resident evil 5/6 that's for sure. If you liked the first two, more so the second game, then Dead Space 3 is is an easy buy imo.

Wow really impressed with this given the negative feedback on here..

Looks great. Plays great. New features freshen it up a bit. Nice new location. Still creepy.

I honestly don't get the hate. Day one for me!

From the footage I've seen I really hope there are more indoors sections. It looks and plays very much like a Dead Space game, but I'll admit I'll be a little disappointed if the majority of the game is in these bright outdoor sections.

Then again, It's just a demo. Will wait for some impressions/reviews closer to release.

Just finished up the demo. Pretty much what you'd expect from a Dead Space game so I found myself enjoying it a bit. There wasn't much of it in the demo but I really don't like having shooting enemies and behind cover shooting in a DS game. Just feels so out of place. I'll be keeping my eye on what the full game offers. Hopefully it's still much like the first two games.

i'm beginning to think DS1 was a fluke for Visceral. Will be interested to see if this actually lives up to the original.

So embarrassed to have to ask this.....

How do I get out of this first room in the game? All I have is the bench and a panel that makes more monsters appear.

Ugh. Nevermind. I accidentally selected the weapon mod room.

I'm sad. I registered for the thing and didn't get it. Said as much on Twitter and Dead Space's twitter feed was all "you should follow us," so I did, and it's amusing, but doing so has not allowed me to play Dead Space any sooner.

Oh well, I'm not able to buy any games for the forseeable future anyways. :|

Alright so to those who liked DS1 and DS2, how is it?

I liked both DS1 and 2 and liked this demo. It feels exactly like I'd expect — more Dead Space, though this time there are a couple human target thrown in the mix too and the demo mostly takes place outdoors. I didn't have any issues with the controls and didn't even notice the supposedly terrible cover system. There are maybe 2 areas in the demo where I might've used that but didn't.

There were a couple good scares in the demo; they made me jump but my wife totally saw them coming (according to her). I didn't mess with the bench stuff very much but it seems streamlined and it'll be fun to experiment and tinker.

While playing alone in the middle of the night, a lot of small things like distant screams, cloths in the wind, jump scares etc were highly effective for me. Very hectic fights that pump up the adrenaline and I still get the "oh shit oh shit oh shit I don't want to die" feeling in most close encounters. Having essentially unlimited ammo in the demo didn't make it any less intense for me at least.

This wasn't scary. There were jump scares, but there was no atmospheric horror. Too many big creepy bad guys . The Giant Spider made this feel like Lost Planet, and not in a good way. Guns felt okay. I like the idea behind the weapon bench now. Cover was shitty.

so if you do not play co-op you don't have to have an A.I. partner like the resident evil 5's and 6's right? Sorry if answered. All I want to do is ride solo like past games

Demo seemed pretty good for me, though I don't really get the cover system. Seems like you just crouch and still are pretty exposed? I barely fought humans anyway considering other enemies went after them, so I didn't get much of a feel for it.

Otherwise, I haven't seen much on the game but the visuals are fantastic. Some great looking scenery and I love the lighting effect when you flip the camera around just right to get a glare from Issac's helmet.

I immediately noticed an oddity at the start, aiming during the snowstorm makes you walk really quickly. Didn't seem intentional.

Does the demo support both co op and solo

if so, which would you guys in general say is the right way to go ? I mean, a game like this .. co op SOUNDS like it'll just ruin the experience.

doesn't sound like a glowing appraisal. i guess it's impossible to recapture that initial freshness.

Well, considering I fucking love the Dead Space series (save Ignition, that was not enjoyable), and this demo plays like the series I love, I think it's kind of glowing.

Game plays well. I'm not worried.

Played last night, and I think the controls are the same honestly, it feels exactly like the others DS games, classic aiming is there, graphics are very nice and the art as always is top notch, but I don't think I liked very much that the section in this demo was all brigth and maybe in plain daylight, in my opinion it should have been in the night with a moon at the distance not a sun, is not that big of a deal but it would add to that Dead Space atmosphere I love.

I might not remembering right but why it takes too much to down an enemy? DS2 was not like this as far as I remember, in here I felt like I needed an entire clip to kill an enemy, maybe is a design decision because they just keep coming, they are vicious.

I pretty much loved the vistas and my jaw dropped at the last part of the demo, got DS1 ending flashbacks, scale is off the charts again.

I will buy it for sure but I sure hope the game has 90% night gameplay and 10% daylight gameplay, it just don't feels right all iluminated IMO.

Loved DS1 & 2. didn't care much for the demo though. The vistas were nice, but the demo lacked the atmosphere that i loved from DS. Not sure that the combat is strong enough to fight humans. Giant spider was lame.

Grenades, cover and shooting other humans...

I'm gonna go ahead and pass on this.

If i wanted to play call of duty i would play call of duty.
