Yeeeeeeeees.

Wonder what the time frame will be now. DareDevil season 2 first, then Luke Cage, then Punisher before Iron Fist? Maybe they will do 3 shows a year now since they're huge hits? I hope it will be 3 a year honestly.

So which Ennis story do we straight up adapt here.

Do we do Welcome Back Frank?
Do we do Barracuda?
What about Down Is Up is Black is White?

Fuck Ennis.

Let's do the Yo-Yo Master

YESSSSS!!!!!

Punisher Angel please!

Fuck that, as much as I love Ennis' Punisher I think Aaron's Punisher MAX would be a perfect fit for Netflix continuity.

Nah buddy. He wasn't. He's a sad sack in black. That ain't Frank.

He gets a lot of leeway because he made a fanfilm with Joker's theme in the background. Doesn't carry much weight with me. He's not a good Frank in that, either.

I like Tom Jane. He's a bad Punisher. You have to be willing to settle to claim him as anything but. And I understand people settling considering your alternatives are Dolph Lundgren and Ray Stevenson (although I think Stevenson did it better, personally). But Jane's a bad Frank Castle, and 2004 Punisher was a bad movie, and Dirty Laundry is a bad fan film.

Bobby Roberts is right.

Reminder that Bernthal thinks it's great rather than horrifying that a judge/jury/executioner vigilante character is a role model to much of the military and law enforcement

I don't think JJ S2 is coming. We'll see.

I don't see a single reason why it wouldn't. It was better received and, from what Netflix have said, more viewed than Daredevil. Both Krysten Ritter and the showrunner are eager to do more. Plus they would get shit on if they renew DD and not the female led show.

Not before Jigsaw
Ah yes, the world's best gangster:
"How'd you get your nickname?"
"Frank Castle threw me through a window and I got cut up real bad. A lotta scars an stitches."
"I'm sure a gangster like you has money and/or connections. Surely you could get plastic surgery and fix it up. Have a whole new face."
"NAH. I need it. It's a reminder. And my only claim to fame! Now it's time to go kill Daredevil and Black Widow at the same time. Surely this will be my most successful venture."
Yeah Punisher is not a deep well, comics proved that. How many eps can you have of a guy shooting drug dealers, then going back to a rat's nest and crying as he clean some guns.
Hey now, that's just mean.
It's great what a superhero show can be when it isn't beholden to the shackles of traditional television. No commercial brakes to adhere to, no recaps in the form of clunky expositional dialogue at the beginning of each episode, and each episode can be as long as it needs to. Daredevil was what I hoped Arrow would be. Now, we're getting a Punisher series, great.
If Punisher is a superhero to you, then we need to have a talk.
But Daken would have to be a thing again.
Well, if that rumored X-Force movie happens, we can have Logan drown him later on the big screen!

Why not? Would be a shame if it didn't happen. Plus, they did sort of set up the second season.

I am not a huge fan of the direction they were hinting at for JJ's second season
with regard to that secret government program that made Nuke
. Now that the Purple Man origin has been dealt with, they should focus more on the private eye stuff in Jessica Jones.

One reason would be scheduling. I think they want Iron Fist out asap so they can start on Defenders. If that's the case they will need all the leads free to shoot that once it goes ahead. So that might mean Punisher replacing Daredevil S3, and no S2 for JJ, LC and IF until Defenders is done.

From the TVLine piece:

“Viewers watching the show will be rooting for this guy with a gun but we’re also going to force people to second-guess themselves,” previewed exec producer Doug Petrie in a recent interview with EW.com. “Taking lethal justice into your own hands in America in 2015 is tricky s–t.”

I always thought he was great. A different kind of crazy than the Frank we will be getting with Jon Bernthal (who am exited for as well.) Bernthal comes of like a unhinged shellshocked psychopath who can go off at a moments notice. But what I liked about Jane, was his broken, cold, emotionless, and dead-eyed portrayal that we got in that movie. It felt a little bit more grounded at the time. You could tell his character was dead inside. It was understated and I liked that.

If Punisher is a superhero to you, then we need to have a talk.
I mean yes, in the semantic sense. Of course. But I was referring to this as a Marvel ™ production.

Ah. I see. Do you think we'd see more seasons of DD after Defenders airs, then? And do you expect the character of JJ to be prominently featured in the Luke Cage series?

Man. Really? When did he say that? Bizarre to think this is his line of thinking after acting in Show Me a Hero....

I agree that they can't have the Nuke stuff be all there is like Killgrave was. I'd guess they'll have that be the thru line for the season and do shorter arcs inbetween.

I dunno. It depends on what happens going forward I guess. I could be wrong and they could announce JJ S2 tomorrow. But I think Netflix will probably look to renew anything which helps their lineup so whatever the case we will see JJ again. Just a matter of when.

JJ is not in Luke Cage tho. That might take place before JJ S1 even happens if it is all origin story.

I dont' know that I even want big overarching stories for Jessica Jones season 2. Part of the problem with season one was they dragged out that story, and the story was so dour - granted, it's not a light story, but the characterizations of almost everyon in the show were so one-note as opposed to the graphic novel, where emotions other than sadness and anger were allowed to bubble up.

Season 2 needs to be more like, of all the fucking things, the Rockford Files. You can still have serious, gut-punch moments, but Jessica is a wiseass, and there are way more opportunities for comedy in her stories than Season One provided.

I left out Slavers because I thought it might be a little too hardcore for producers to try tackling.

Also, part of the reason Ennis' Punisher run works the way it does is due to the black comedy and strong satirical elements on display. You can't play those stories 100% straight faced. They've gotta have that heightened "reality" in play.

Barracuda is awful. Welcome Back Frank is what we need, with lots of war flashbacks. I'm guessing Vietnam is too dated given the actor's age, so it will be OEF or OIF.
