still don't like him as the Punisher, but if he's gonna stick around I hope at least for some ultraviolence and a proper Nicky Cavella storyline adaptation

Could give 2 fucks about Punisher but more Marvel is never wrong.
Pretty much. Punisher isn't a character I care to celebrate.

I mean I'm glad he's in Daredevil, but as an antagonist. Berenthal will be AMAZING in the role. I just don't like celebrating Punisher as a hero.

You aren't wrong, but man Tom Jane had a good voice for the role at least. The PS2 game he did work with was a riot.

Yeah I can't argue that. lol Actually that whole game was fucking awesome and one of the best comic book video games released. So many memorable set pieces like sitting up in the casket with a M60 to take out the grieving mafia goons at Ma Gnucci's sons funeral...lol.

...dammit now I want a current gen Punisher game. :(

EDIT: oh shit, Volition did a stream yesterday of them playing the old PS2 game and talking about it's development!

Such great news. The Punisher has had the best stories. I agree with Bobby-it would be cool to see Sam Jackson portray Nick Fury for a few episodes. Hell, with the low-budget stuff Sam does, surely he'd do this?

Punisher 2004 had a rad theme song.

I loved DD S1, and am immensely looking forward to S2 in 2 months. I havent been able to force myself to watch JJ yet though. Never been a Ritter fan.

this isnt a official confirmation yet right?

So, March we get DD Season 2. Presumably, in the fall, Luke Cage will be debuted, keeping up with the one spring series, one fall series timetable Marvel TV is most likely going to use.

Then, in 2017 and still using the spring-fall timeline, Spring '17 will be either Jessica Jones S2 or Daredevil Season 3 and Fall '17 might be either Luke Cage S2 or Punisher S1 (assuming it'll even be in Phase 1). 2017's shows could also be a Cage & Jones team-up series or something else. That would mean Spring 2018 is Iron Fist, meaning The Defenders would be Fall 2018. Iron Fist is probably going to be the show directly preceding "The Defenders" considering how all the other shows have building up towards it.

Fall '18 for The Defenders also works with the MCU timeframe, considering Infinity War Part I will set the stage for either the Avengers going cosmic, leaving New York at the mercy of the Hand, or the forces of Thanos, or one of the Iron Fist realms, or the Defenders just trying to maintain order in a New York devastated by an attack by Thanos a la Batman's No Man's Land.

EDIT:
this isnt a official confirmation yet right?

TVLine phrases it like this: "Netflix is thisclose to pulling the trigger on The Punisher, a new Marvel spinoff series centered on Jon Bernthal’s gun-toting Daredevil vigilante (aka Frank Castle), TVLine has learned exclusively."

I'd assume it is not officially greenlit, but it's a sure shot.

Well anyone treating Frank as a out-and-out hero is is getting the character horribly wrong. Not even Frank should really view his actions in a positive light.

Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter are confirming talks are happening but obviously until Netflix announces it nothing is confirmed.

Doesn't Netflix have a panel or conference tomorrow?

EDIT: For reference here's THR story with their own confirmation:
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/netflix-plotting-punisher-spinoff-starring-856398
The streaming service is eyeing a potential stand-alone series called The Punisher, a Daredevil spinoff, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

As first reported by TV Line, the potential spinoff — which is in very early development — would star Jon Bernthal and feature The Walking Dead alum reprising his character that is poised to make his debut during season two of Daredevil.

Should The Punisher move forward at Netflix, it would be the streaming service's sixth Marvel drama and join Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and mash-up mini The Defenders.

I would say this is all wrong but who knows really. Luke Cage is this fall but Iron Fist already have a showrunner so that will premiere in Spring 2017 while The Defenders comes out Fall 2017. They have to film the Defenders soon. Punisher will follow after.

Not likely. Luke Cage, the show most closest to Iron Fist in terms of development, had its showrunner found in March 2015, with the show likely coming out in Fall 2016. That means about a year and a half from showrunner selection to final show premiere. Scott Buck got the showrunner role in December 2015 meaning, using the approximate model Luke Cage gives us, Iron Fist probably won't debut later than Summer 2017, and that's ignoring the likely large amount of VFX needed to bring K'un Lun and Danny's powers to life. That's my reasons for Spring 2018. Defenders would probably be around the same time as well because of Infinity War and the perfect narrative set-up it presents for all 4 heroes to come together and fight some big menace.

I would be surprised if Cage premieres as late as fall, given that it started production last September and that DD S1 and JJ both premiered about nine months after their production start dates.

I suppose it's not inconceivable that it just gets shelved for a few months to space it out further from DD S2, though.

Also, while it hasn't been confirmed, I believe that that IF casting sheet had filming starting in April, which would put the premiere in Jan-Feb 2017 if it follows a similar timeframe.

Great stuff, DD and Jessica Jones were great, so Punisher should be an awesome show too.

Now if only Netflix can pick up Dredd for a show, to make right what Hollywood keep failing to do.

The Slavers, definitely The Slavers. It's absolutely brutal.

This.

I also hope they recreate this scene at some point. Could make a good opening for the series.

I really think you are off the mark. Spring 2018 for Iron Fist? Not gonna happen.

I wanna see whatever arc is was where that dude dug up Frank's family and pissed on their corpses on tv.

Goddamm even the other criminals were shook that someone could be that nuts.

Dolph lundgrens and ray atevenson both had more accurate punisher movies then jane. People crap on dolphs punisher, but that's pretty close to 80's punisher.

Mother Russia is the best. It was great seeing Frank "out of his element" but still in control of the situation.

and let's not forget Nick Fury being the badassest of all

the second Cavella arc. Issue ended with a close up of Frank watching that scene on tv, with the most pissed off face you could imagine. Awesome

Ennis is Mark Millar with manners

Mark Millar is an immature Ennis. Not to say that Ennis doesn't have his childish moments but Millar created Wanted, Nemesis and Kick Ass. Other than the odd joke here and there I haven't see any book or story where I see as much immature shit. As for excessive violence... they are both pretty fucked in the head. When I met both of them I said that to their faces.

Reminder that Bernthal thinks it's great rather than horrifying that a judge/jury/executioner vigilante character is a role model to much of the military and law enforcement

Source? That's frightening, the creator of the Punisher sees him as a villain. I am pretty sure Garth Ennis feels the same.
