Death Battle: Dante vs. Bayonetta

Can you kill Dante if you straight up cut off his head? I don't think that's been tried in any DMC game.

Anyway, yeah I can see how this went the way it went. Bayonetta's trump cards are all demons/demon magic and Dante beats those free + insane regeneration = tough fight.

LOL I was wondering if he saw it

Bayo v Dante is weird because Dante is invulnerable but Bayo is unable to be hit. It really should just be a stalemate because both of their abilities scale so high.

bayonetta fanpeople get over it. She lost and she will always lose because dante is that much better than her in every way but physical strength

Jubileus might be a creator god, but her power is kept in check by Sheba (who is arguably the strongest) and Aesir.

That final sequence B1 isn't really Bayonetta herself punching God into the sun as some claim, as much as it was Bayonetta, with the help of Jeanne (arguable) summoning a superior god (Sheba) and having it punch an inferior god into the sun.

Surprising how accurately it ended just how it should have.
Transdimensional sword being a completely unexpected counter then just devil triggers the fuck out to set her off her game with unrelenting bombardment of attacks then when she's busy with that another surprise of freely taking what should be a mortal wound to create an opening to finish the job.

You would think that you could just decapitate Dante and he would die but he heals way too fast. Like he heals as fast as the wound is inflicted so he might actually heal through a slice through his neck.

I do think he would die if you separated his head or if you just blew him up completely Cell style. Definitely not immortal, just hard to kill.

A big piece of the puzzle that is missing is related to Sparda's death. If he died in combat then you can extend that to Dante and Vergil. However, we don't know how he died or even if he actually did (maybe he just disappeared off somewhere). Everyone has trouble seeing Sparda perishing in a straight fight.

I remember a scene from DMC3 where Dante punches through Vergil's Yamato and he slowly pulls his hand out slowly with no traces of a wound.
I knew it was a technical limitation at the time but it was funny and regen would make sense.

Oh yeah, it was the scene where Dante was about to unlock his devil trigger mode for the first time.
Also if I remember correctly the scene follows up with Vergil completely decimating Dante with slashes.

This is the first time I watched a death battle, and it was awesome!

Rebellion needs an upgrade, of course Vergil would get the broken ass sword that can cut space/time.

nah, rebellion is great
it's basically got all the cooler moves except judgement cut
and even then drive is almost as cool anyhow

the real crime is that it got a downgrade in dmc4 because it lost sword pierce and crazy dance

i miss you sword pierce

This wasn't specifically mentioned in the death battle video, but in DMC1, Dante has the ability to STOP time via the Bangle of Time. So, congrats, Bayo can slow down time. Don't matter. Dante can stop it.

Please don't go there, the bangle of time only works on minor enemies, fodder, it never worked on a powerful enemy. Witch time works on literally everyone and everything, even god.
