I wonder.....Of all the people that list Kevin Dunn as a major issue in WWE, how many of them actually know what Kevin Dunn does?

I'm loving '96 Jim Cornette. While the matches aren't always great (I'm looking at you international incident) Cornette elevated the Camp Cornette crew to the point of being an effective heel stable. One could argue that outside of an awesome Undertaker year, Cornette carried WWE in '96.

Ummm. Foley...A guy named Stone Cold Steve Austin/Chilly Mcfreeze/Otto Von Ruthless/Ice Dagger. Sid Vicious. (Yes I'm serious about this last one, 1996 is by far the best year of Sid's career)

Cornette is/was nothing but garbage

He made Owen and Yoko look like shit. Not that Yoko needed much help at that point.

Camp Cornette ruled the summer though. Stone Cold and Sid didn't really get involved till later.

Also, Mankind was heavily tied to the Undertaker that year.

Indeed. That's why I put Foley's name first. He's the one that brought out the best pure striker/dick kicker taker into the forefront.

Undertaker is also literally the only guy at the top of the card who is cheered as a face the entire year of 1997. He gets some of the loudest cheers as well. 1997 is secretly the year of the Taker despite everything else going on.

The Mankind / Undertaker feud was easily the highlight of the year. I just watched a Raw where they had a battle royal to determine a #1 contender for a world title match on the Raw after Summerslam. Undertaker and Mankind eliminated each other early and brawled across the building throughout with backstage segments, segments of them brawling through the crowd and back in and out of the ring. It was amazing.

Even still, it's one feud...and Camp Cornette was the spotlight of that time even if Mankind / Taker stole the show.

Mankind and Undertaker have a ton of great matches in 1996. Mankind also has an absolute barn burner with HBK at Mind Games. Austin and Bret have literally one of the best matches ever at Survivor Series. Sid's best match ever also happens at the same damn show.

1996 is just a phenomenal year of wrestling in North America. All of the shows beside WCW Uncensored are at the least above average.

I loved bits of Austin, Sid, and Vader in '96 but the top three to me were Goldust, Mankind/Bearer, and any mixture of Davey Boy and Owen together.

Goldust and Ahmed is a great feud. Dude saved your life (maybe) show some gratitude.

Also fond of Warrior's run and King/Austin making fun of Jake's legitimate alcoholism. Good times. Good times.

Also, Diesel was incredible in 1996. Undertaker's best feud up to that point. He was squashing nerds left and right.

Diesel turns great the second he loses the belt and remains so for the rest of his run. All of his best non Bret Hart matches are in this period.

Roman will be there inside of a month or two if he keeps rounding his back trying to deadlift people he's not strong enough to deadlift properly.

Dude, this appraisal you've made of that powerbomb is ridiculous. The entire tournament was structured around Roman's arm being torqued by Cesaro in the first match, and every other opponent exploiting that, and the powerbomb looked like that because he was selling the arm, then still managing to hit the move because he's the powerhouse babyface. I guarantee Roman lifts way more than del Rio weighs on a regular basis. The person who made the GIF made it precisely because it was good storytelling, and resents you using it as an example of how "weak" he is.

God, you guys really want to make me watch the first episode of RAW until '96, huh...

I will... once I finish writing a final essay for class. Sheesh...

Vince at his most naive and the most Vince booking ever might be him booking Scott Hall vs Bob Backlund with Razor working the heel.

Vince McMahon is the only person in the world that thought Razor Ramon would get booed over Bob Backlund in 1993.

Then why did he do the powerbomb the same struggling way on RAW this week?

Here you go, the actual answer to why the women's division is booked like shit:

Nothing is stopping the women from actually wrestling. The fact is that most of them can't wrestle, and the ones who can are less than jobber status when it comes to the lowest dregs of the men's division. Charlotte and Sasha Banks are great, but even people like Paige, Becky, and the Bellas botch shit all the time and don't have any physical impact in their move sets.

All that being said, it speaks volumes when a career jabroni like Tommy Dreamer who can barely wrestle any more is taking main events on Raw. The women not being able to wrestle is not the main reason why the ratings have been tanking, although I suspect it doesn't help.

Man, Alexa Bliss is really hitting her stride. Six months ago, I don't think anyone could have predicted this.

She figured out how to make porn star faces.

No seriously, just watch her, that's why people like her so much now.
