Another piece that makes that absolutely perfect is Cena having to reach down and grab Rock's wrist to hold his arm up in celebration.

This is Cena's moment, god damn it! APPRECIATE ME!!!!

That gif is pretty much the perfect summary of everything I can't stand about Cena. The only thing worse would maybe be watching him "apply" an STF.

Rock is humbled by Hogan's endorsement, Hogan is proud.
Rock is ashamed, Cena is smug.

Great hero, there.

10 years from now when Cena is finally over and adored by everyone, yes even you smarks, you will understand what was BEST FOR BUSINESS.

It doesn't matter that Cena's hated by a significant portion of the fanbase (not forgetting the lapsed fans who no longer follow the product precisely because of the incessant focus upon him) - WWE will do what they always do; rewrite history.

Can't wait for that Cena HoF induction ceremony where he's made out to be the Bruno Sammartino of his day.

Also, who the fuck cares what shit is "best for business". So sick of that, it's right up there with "just wait to see how this plays out" and other such WWE apologist bullshit /rant.

You're absolutely right, the future Cena DVD's will all show how loved he was and how he was the greatest sports entertainer in WWE history.

He loved wrestling growing up

"You know, I always loved wrestling growing up, but I knew I could do it. I knew that someday I could be better. That I could be the ones the fans all cheer for.

He didn't let anything stop him.

"I couldn't let anyone stop me. I grew up hard knocks, so I knew I had to do this no matter how many people told me I couldn't. I had to support professional wrestling."

He became the most controversial superstar in an era of PG and focus testing. This is John Cena.

Do you think that Big E Langston has the potential to have a good 2014? For a big guy, he can put on some good matches. Can't say the same about Ryback.

Big E and Roman Reigns are probably going to get the biggest pushes out of the mid card in 2014. I don't know that they will be the most successful, but they will be the most pushed.

He's very athletic, it will take the right opponents to get good matches out of him due to his size. Punk got a some out of him a few weeks ago when he turned face. I'd love to see him and Reigns go at it a few times.

It's really the fireworks that get me.

No shit. That celebration is so over the top for a guy who had already been the face of the company for 8 years and already been the champion 10 times. You'd think it was the biggest match of his life. Instead, it was a shittier rematch to a match that already wasn't good, in front of an audience that really didn't give a shit. Rock's whole 3 year return (and by 3 years, I mean a total of about a month's worth of appearances) was just to put Cena over, which is really pretty gross since Cena is the absolute last guy on the roster that needed that. Rock did the thing with Punk, but that was just to get the title on to Rock so they could give it to Cena. It was so transparent.

Yeah, Roman Reigns is definitely going to be the breakout star of The Shield. If, or when they break up The Shield, I think Roman Reigns is going to turn Face, and hopefully, he'll have a successful career.

Speaking of The Shield, I am expecting Dean Ambrose to be a potential top heel of the company at some point, while Seth Rollins will unfortunately get lost in the shuffle (though with him, he could go either way as a face or heel).

Well, hes the IC champ now, so look for him to lose a LOT of Raw matches and then win the belt match at the PPV.

Rollins problem is similar to Ziggler, he can sell really well but isn't so great on mic, so that might relegate him to midcard jobber status.

I think it's less Ziggler than it is Orton--his mic skills are subpar, but the man has The Look(TM). He'll go far regardless.

Well it was booked as such in the warped and twisted world of WWE logic, remember how Cena's career and even personal life was on the brink of disaster after his catastrophic 2012 that went south after Rock bested Cena in their once in a lifetime encounter, a tragic year where Cena was barely able to obtain his superstar of the year slammy award and Cena needed his redemption or else....or else...something?
Not that I'm disagreeing with anything you've said.

Now I'm not going to blame the WWE for trying to make their WM main event actually sound important but damn did they go about it in the most illogical way.

Well, Big E needs to keep his mouth shut, otherwise, he'll end up like everyone who talks about the higher ups or other champions:

I hope Dolph has a good year in NJPW. Ya know, had he not been so public with his bitching and trying to be "on" 24/7, making him seem like a total cock to management, he'd probably be in some title hunt right now.

Or in porn, I guess. He talks to pornstars a lot on twitter like he wants in to that biz. Plus him and Mia Malkova could work well together.

Jeff Hardy can't talk for shit
or wrestle for shit
but he got over big anyway.

Jeff had that stupid MySpace emo shit going for him. Also was willing to do stupid, body-risking spots.

How come nobody here seems to understand the importance and epic-ness of that Rock/Cena match? Did you all miss the debate or something?

Oh, this should be fun;

Haven't seen Sonjay about much this year, but he's always put on good shows, so I'm looking forward to this. Great opponent in El Ligero, as well.

I think he had a couple matches in TNA this year when they tried to switch the X Division to the Triple Threat format. He looked alright from what I remember.

His size is more Ziggler than Orton. And Orton's got the backing of HHH for the past 10 years.

Roman Reigns is another story since he's not so small (being Samoan might help).

Sounds like Rollins to me. Only Rollins can actually wrestle.

I wish I knew what % of that look on The Rock's face was from the indignity of it all and what % was the pain of his torn muscle.

Edit: Rollins will be big if he gets to be the new Jeff Hardy. But isn't he the one of The Shield that has been rumored to be difficult to work with, very arrogant about his past experience on the indies?

Last I saw of Dutt was in Ring Ka King, I think. Good stuff there. Wonder what he's been up to...pulling an Ultramantis Black.

Serious talk. Cena versus Punk on that RAW a few weeks before mania was probably MOTY.

Also was Bryan in any stand out matches this year?

Dude has been consistent as hell but I dont think he was in a match that stands out above the rest.

He better be up for Superstar of the Year though

Bootaaay you usually keep an ongoing list of MOTY contenders across multiple promotions don't you? Would love to take a loot at it.

Bryan has been the television MVP of the year. The gauntlet match (especially the Cesaro part) along with basically every singles match he has had with any member of the Shield or Wyatt family has been phenomenal, but for my taste he has usually been outshined on PPVs or had his matches dragged down with unnecessary story bullshit.

I don't think it was MOTY, but I think the most impressive thing about that Punk/Cena match was that it actually managed to create some tension. Nobody watch thought that Punk would win, but they were still able to have moments that suspended the disbelief.

Bryan has been pretty much been having at least one good match(sometimes tow or three) a week since May. WWE's format is a lot different now, but who else has had that kindof consistency over the last, say, 10 years?
