Degica's Muv-Luv Trilogy Kickstarter (Funded) - New Tiers for Physical Vita Reward

I have backed the game because I love vn and think that we have to support them, but for those who have played the game, are that good the muv luv series?
I haven't played the games but yes. The Muv-Luv trilogy is often regarded as one of the best, if not the absolute best, VNs ever made.

Muv-Luv is the most extreme example of a series that starts out bad at first and gets significantly better later on. The first game, Extra, is painfully generic, but a lot of the badness is intentional so if you can laugh at cheesy stupid high school love comedy hijinks you might legit enjoy it. The second game, Unlimited, is much better, but still nothing particularly special. The third, Alternative, is one of the greatest VNs of all time, but only really works on both an information level and an attachment-to-the-characters level if you played Extra and Unlimited.

Even a week ago I never would have though this would approach 7k backers. There's been a real surge of new backers, I wonder if some of the recent attention it's gotten from Reddit and such are behind it.

I don't see it as an excuse. They aren't big enough to make a retail print for retailers in the US, they'd have to pull off a Gaijinworks/LRG kind of deal, which isn't the purpose of the company at all, since they're already offering physical copies during the Kickstarter.
I mean, Degica's community manager literally said that physical releases on Vita aren't a risk at all.

GAF I need your help! Haven't backed anything on Kickstarter yet and have no clue how this is supposed to work. I need to use the paypal payment option which kinda makes this even more obtuse. What do ;_;?

I want to back the 220$ tier with the physical PC collector's box and codex. Don't really have the time to read through all the details as I need to work all day tomorrow (crunch time for a milestone so I can't really take any time off for this) and will have like maybe 1-2 hours after work before the kickstarter ends. In these 1-2 hours I need to figure out what to do exactly and go through with it.

Has anyone backed this via paypal? Do I like just hit the pledge with paypal button and put in 220$ + 20$ worldwide shipping into the paypal payment and all is good? Anyways need to hit the sack to get a couple hours of sleep, thanks in advance for anyone helping!

Thanks for all the responses! Definitely looking forward to having this next year(with such an amazing amount of things)
Also there is still no word in what the rest of the funds are headed to right?

Nothing specific beyond the last stretch goal. They did say they were planning another update with a video though.

Dunno if anyone cares but i got a response regarding Paypal payments.

Paypal will only be applied when the backerkit is released and then at that point you can apply to any tiers or addons that are still available.

So that means for someone like me who bought a limited tier paypal is a no go.

Wait what tiers are $20 shipping now? My $300 tier still auto charged me $10 for shipping. I added another $65 for a model kit but i want to make sure i added the right amount and am not $10 short.

There is not too much time for doing that though... anyway I'm happy with the way they've made the kickstarter, but it's surprising hat they don't say almost anything towards the end

Finally pledged for the physical Vita tier ($80). Had to think about this a lot since it's quite a bit of money, but I went into Steins;Gate blindly since people kept saying it's one of the best VN's and I loved it. My hightest pledge to a KS was $15 before this lol

Can't miss out on those physical Vita copies and it's my birthday this month so that's my excuse.

I pretty much know nothing about this series but I guess I'll find out next year.

Does anyone know if we can purchase 2 different tiers? Or even 2 of the same tiers (including getting the stretchgoal rewards for each one)? I asked them, but I don't think they understood what I was asking.

Running out of time, not sure which tier to pledge to. >_>
Just make sure to pledge so you can get access to the Backerkit. You can then upgrade/manage/etc. your pledge after the Kickstarter ends. It only costs a dollar, so there's little to no risk.

I'm pretty sure to do something like that you'll need to make a separate/second account.

If the tier you want is not listed as an add-on, I believe you'd need to make a second account.

I see. That's a bit of a hassle. Wish there was an easier way. I was thinking of getting the $80 Vita tier in addition to the $150 Vita tier, or even 2 of the $150 Vita tier since it's such a great value. Maybe this is a sign I shouldn't.

Anyways, thanks for the info, guys!

Is this actually a story like in Fate/Stay ____, or is it just one of those games like Prison Girls?

There's an actual story. The original PC version had some sex scenes, but they constitute an even smaller percentage of the games' total run time than Fate/Stay Night's. For this release they're going with the "release the porn-less version and offer a free patch to put the porn back in the PC version" route.

Very nice. My friend made it seem like one of those chibi pervert moe games so I was very confused why it made so much money on kickstarter.

The first one is a pretty by-the-numbers dating/moe sim. But it's necessary to get into and fully understand the later kickass sci-fi story.

I feel bad for doubting it was going to get this far. I figured it was going to be 820k at max and when it blasted pass that and kept going it blew my mind.

$150 is the best value! You get more stuff in that than more collectors editions at the same price!
