Why even bother making a new depression thread? It'll just be the same thing.
Most of the thread is people saying that they're miserable, but they're usually not popular enough posters for anyone to care to reply.
A thread about depression will obviously have a lot of content about people being miserable. If people don't reply that's because of a few reasons, in no particular order:
1) You can't fully describe the issues someone has in one post so usually you can't give definitive advice. This means replying isn't super easy.
2)Usually you might be able to give some ideas and ask for more detailed information. But then it's up to the person asking for help to be more forthcoming. Mental illness isn't easy to talk about so people often hold back.
3) The fact that the initial replies were limited or not definitive means the person asking for help is more likely to hold back. It's hard enough to make even one post about your mental illness anyway, so it's unsurprising if going from one post to a conversation doesn't succeed everytime.
4) Often when people post, they post their issue but they don't specifically ask for help. If someone says "I feel tired" it's hard to respond or it may seem like the person just wants to vent. If people actually ask for help or ask a question they are more likely to get responses. You don't ask you might not get.
5) When you ask someone needing help for more information you don't want to be invasive, if someone has mental illness you don't want them feeling pressured to talk about their issues. They should feel safe and free. This consideration of not asking... you don't ask you might not get.
6) If you reply to someone asking for help, but they in turn don't post a response, you don't know if your reply helped or even if your reply was even read. The lack of feedback makes it harder to guage your own posts and makes it hard to increase the quality/quantity of the posts you'll make in future.
7) Posters with ideas on how to help are outnumbered by people needing help. Even the posters that offer help usually need help themselves.
8) The people here aren't highly experienced licensed medical practitioners, so you have be careful in what help you offer.
9) Help you offer is read by the person you help, but also by other forum members with mental illnesses, so again you need to be careful in what you post. What applies to one person may not apply to others.
10) Forum posts lack information that is communicated face to face(facial expression, vocal tone, body language, timing etc). This increases the guesswork required which makes it harder to construct an accurate response.
11) People have lives which get in the way of posting.
Wow, that's more than a few reasons and there's probably more. That said, there is a lot of value in the thread. Simply typing up your issues can help, posting those for others to read can help more, getting replies can help even more.
The only thing I can say to anyone here is, the more open you are, the more and better help you can get. Giving more detail actually reduces the burden on people that would help you since it makes it easier for them to construct a good response. The following three elements will dramatically increase the chances of getting good responses.
1) Description of your issues(the more detail the better).
2) What actions are you taking or planning to take? Or if you can't take actions what difficulties are you having.
3) Things you'd like help/advise on. Ask questions. Even open ended questions are great. Doesn't matter if they seem obvious or are vague:
Does anyone have ideas on how to get a better sleep routine?
Does anyone have experience of Prozac?
Does anyone have experience of going to your doctor?
Does anyone know how to find a therapist specialising in bedwetting?
Does anyone know if it's possible to get better control your thoughts?
Even if you make a huge post, just one question like any of the above is enough as that gives a starting point for a reply. If you really wanna know I would start a reply to the above questions as:
Yes, you can...
No, my mental disorders were because of life events so I managed to find "non-biological" means to successfully start beating it...
Not for mental health...
Yes... Oh shit, my secrets out

Yes...
Mental Health |OT| Depression & Co.? Yeah? Yeah?
People scan titles and usually see the first word or two. Mental Health is wishy washy and many people may ignore it. Something more impactful at the start would be better. Maybe something like:
Depression & Mental Health |OT| We won't judge you if you don't judge us
