I know this is typically a go-to defense of fanboy-ism, but some of the negative reviews almost read as though the reviewers went in determined to dislike the movie because of it's shear existence, which sort of tosses objectivity out the window. You'd think after AUJ some people would have come to terms with what this trilogy is - Peter Jackson's prequel trilogy to The Lord of the Rings that by pure coincidence happens to cover the major events from The Hobbit.
With AUJ it was clear as day that this is not JRR Tolkien's The Hobbit, so why anyone would waste time by being outraged at this point is beyond me.
