Atleast disable it. Like grey it out or something.. I guess the ancient Halo Reach engine doesn't support it.

I'll say it again, Bungie probably doesn't want to go down that road of disabling/taking something away from players who spent real world money for Silver and Bright Engrams. It would just set-off another controversy. It sucks for Trials players but I can't say I'm surprised either if real world money spent by players is playing into the decision.

Not who you're talking to but I'll respond anyway.
I love Destiny. But is the moment to moment gameplay with nothing else still good enough for me? Is it fun in and of itself to me? No, not particularly. Not enough to keep me playing very long.
What is super fun to me is the gameplay along with the rewards. The progression. The chase. The numbers. The grind (tuned to the proper extent). The collection. That along with the game play is what is fun to me.
Even removing all of that, D1 was more "fun" to me gameplay wise. Sure this has a couple of fun weapons and abilities but there's so much that is not there now, it's become harder to find the enjoyment. The Hunter class which I almost exclusively played in D1 is now garbage. There is no Gjallarhorn, no flaming sword that destroys pretty much anything, no crazy 6v6 multiplayer, nothing to collect aside from the weapons themselves...and the list certainly goes on and on....it's just so stripped down and muted that it's baffling to me to think that people will simply keep playing just for the "fun" of it.
If you personally have fun simply shooting aliens then great keep on shooting. That doesn't mean it (by itself) is going to remain fun in the long run for everyone.

I see what you're saying, but players are already frowning about Trials not being there now. My guess is just that the engine doesnt support surgically disabling the emote temporarily until its fixed. If players had the choice to pick between no emote for two weeks or Trials, I'm pretty sure everybody would pick emote.

The normal player and especially the Trials' players would obviously pick the game activity but I'm speculating that the publisher would go to pretty great lengths in avoiding the players becoming fearful of having anything they acquired with real world money taken from them in an instant.

They could always reimburse those people in some way. Give people who have the emote either bright dust or a bright engrams to compensate. Amazon gives people $5 when they have to cancel orders for price mistakes. They don't technically owe anyone anything, but they do it anyway. Giving away either bright dust or engrams is even easier and doesn't actually cost Bungie anything. Any bad press from the disabling or removal of the emote will surely be outweighed by the good press of the make good.

Fast traved to the same PE on Titan 3 tines with nobody there, by the 4, the PE was gone.

Many, many, many thanks to Ozone and Kevin for helping me with Prestige NF.
After failing many times with my hunter, I had to switch to my Titan for that 2x Pulse grenade privilege, only to remember that my Titan is a freshly remade character who didn't even have nightfall access.
These two gentlemen were kind and patient enough to run the 2 strikes and the regular nightfall with me, so that we could finally get our prestige NF completion. Got the trophy!

I'm in just for the shader. I've found uses for it
i just want to do it because it's a bit more mechanically complex and requires better execution from players. It's more fun.

Except not really since they straight up said they couldn't track the glitch and were just gonna post the top 3 and you can decide for yourself based on if you thought what they did was ok or not, and if their world first "counted" or not.

I did raid run for the exotic shotgun seals and got 8 seals out of 10. Do I need to wait for the reset to get the last 2 ?
