The last thing I remember was discussing how Bungie might/should handle progression past level 20 without raising the level cap. That sounds more interesting

If the two announced expansions (House of Wolves and The Dark Below) take place after the main story, it'd be really awkward if the main story had ended on a cliffhanger unless the expansions are suppose to wrap it up.
Can you imagine ending on a cliffhanger, then the expansions come out and our Guardians are like "Well...that other thing isn't taken care of but let's go check out [Whatever's going on in the expansions]!!!!"
But we won't know one way or the other, haha.

What happened is what is referred to as a "Beautiful Trainwreck" - a complete disaster that you somehow cannot look away from. Also, boobs.
See, that I can get behind. It has a valid reason in lore. Not leaving audio recordings everywhere willy nilly because "atmosphere".

oh, i agree it's better than Borderlands, based on the alpha, but the original reveal was still practically a bullet point list for Borderlands (guns guns guns! this game is all about the loot!).

That is exactly what they are. I just hope to god we don't have to go out-of-game to read them, because having to read the card information on the alpha site was stupid as hell.
Better yet, someone edit up that Zoolander truck gif and put the Class heads on there!

Haha truly confirmed. Yeah the thread was truly amazing, awkward at points but fantastic at the same time just one of those trainwrecks, but the new IGN news made the thread back on task again. good times all round.

I just watched the Companion App video. Seems cool. I can't think of when I would ever need to change my equipment while I'm not in-game, but being able to see everything I own, equipped or not, will make it easier to discuss gear with friends when we're not in-game. I've got a couple friends at university who will be playing with me and I'm sure we'll be showing each other newly found loot often, even in class.
One thing though. In the section showing currently available bounties and such, they didn't mention that you could accept bounties from the app (if they did. I didn't hear it). That would be something I'd definitely use.
The bounty board content is on a timer, so what if you're inexplicably away from home when it's about to change, but there's a bounty that you absolutely want to accept? The app would be perfect for this and other "shopping from npc" type tasks
Although I guess this would need to be restricted such that you couldn't do it while logged in on your console, since it would allow you to accept new bounties/buy new equipment while you're outside the tower.

.I know this was from yesterday, so it's probably been answered, but I think I recall seeing the same thing.
Edit: Of course a few posts later video and pics show up. Honestly, I don't think it needs to be indicated more than that. I definitely noticed it during the Alpha.
I think there are important lessons that Bungie can learn from looking at WoW, both good and bad. While Destiny isn't an MMO, it obviously has some similar qualities. I would be surprised if Bungie didn't take the successes and failures of WoW into consideration to some degree during development of Destiny.
That said, I think the references are mainly the result of WoW being the most popular MMO around, so it stands as a good point of reference for a lot of people.

Was watching some of the IGN footage of level walkthroughs and there seemed like a bunch of AFK players were needed even for Bungie to show them off. Figured somebody would know by now.

I'm going to assume that every class then has a subclass of each element.

Nope, there's far more than that available for each subclass. Also, the positioning of the text next to the subclass title and outside the subclass specifics goes against this.
Nope, only two for each so far:
Titan - Arc (starting) and Void (secondary)
Warlock - Void and Solar
Hunter - Solar and Arc
So we know what the next subclass will be for each, but not the specifics.
We're surprised about there being 3 subclasses, not just 2.

I'm not sure what you mean by "objectives" but there are waaaaay more than 3 upgrades for each subclass so "2/3" wouldn't make sense.
Also note the fractions on the guns below. In the Alpha, we could hold 10 of each weapon type, so the "5/10", "4/10", "2/10" is referring to how many the character has out of max. It'd be bad UI design to have all those fractions aligned and have them not mean the same thing, so I can only assume "2/3" on subclass refers to how many out of max the character has.
BECAUSE.... up until now it's only been shown that there has been two subclasses (your starting and secondary) for each Class, not the 3 the Companion App is suggesting.

but I only played with 2 other friends in the alpha. And I know a fireteam is a max of 3.
So how easy is it to play with 5 or 6 people. obviously would be in 2 fireteams. But is it easy enough to join their game and run around with them like in free roam or such? or are you locked to just the crucible and the raid?

Only 3 people for free roam and strike missions. In the Crucible, the max number of fire team members is 6. You can send party invites to get a full PVP squad up and running, or join your friend if he has slots open.
You can't pick to join others, as far as I know. 6 pre-selected players is only available in the Crucible and Raids.
