I just don't understand how the back of the head was actually let past their graphics department. I feel like I can see ten people in a room saying "BUT IT LOOKS SO WRONG!"

Nothing very new here, but GameTrailers has an Xbox One version of this box art :
Can't find it on Bungie.net or DestinyTheGame.com, so I'm sure GT made this by themselves.

I have to agree that the back of his helmet is confusing. It kind of kills the entire design for me.

I spent the first half of the page thinking that it was strange that he was holding the gun backwards before I realized I was looking at his back. Just have to make the back of those helmets a bit more obvious as the back.
It is a little shooty bang bang, but I like how it is showing the group dynamic from the start. It actually reinforced the idea that the front figure was facing forward for me, because it looked like a group surveying a hostile area and needing to keep eyes all around. Which then fell apart a bit for me when I realized it was a dude in a poncho checking out one of his colleagues and the third guy seeing what is going on and going "wtf?".
When does this game come out again? Because I would like to play it.

Pretty much how I feel. Kinda disappointed. Oh well its just box art. I am pumped for this trailer tomorrow though

Was hoping that this boxart would be chosen.
This could still be PAL boxart, it's not like having different art for PAL/NTSC releases is uncommon.

because of activision's strategy. everything cod is with xbone, everything destiny is with ps4.
EmptySpace can just imagine how nervous bungie must have felt before any of the reveals of the next-gen consoles and them going with ps4. now it seems destiny is going to be a ps4 blockbuster.

I think the aspect people took issue with is how illogical Chief wearing a cape is in context of the Halo lore. He doesn't need it to keep warm, and considering he's going up against advanced alien armies who can scan across hundreds of miles of space (as seen in the beginning of Halo 4), a cloak probably isn't going to disguise him very well from their sensors.
Uh, we already know it's getting a main sequel every 2 years and an expansion pack in intervening years. This all came out during the West/Zampella vs. Activision legal wranglings.
I prefer it. It's minimal, it plays up the sci-fi angle and doesn't go for the cliched shootyness.
Given how Activision has treated the system and how its online infrastructure is percieved, I really doubt that. But, it would be a great coup for Ninty were that the case. They really need to be on a par with the other consoles as far as these large this-party releases go.

Box art only takes a few seconds to stir up some sort of heated response.
It's too smart for the lowest common denominator aka uneducated regular ass casual gamers. You need to pander to them. You need a man, with a gun, and orange and blue contrast. It just works better
