Destiny House of Wolves Reveal Thread

game needs more of this kind of thing.

The titan gets a roman looking exotic helmet in the DLC. The Trials gear also looks very different, I like it.

I don't understand, is this a horde mode?
Is it PVP?
Is it like a strike?

What is this?

We don't know exactly, but it's the new endgame activity that can be done multiple times in a week. Various gear CAN be earned from it.

There is a new weekend PvP event called "Trial of Osiris", tied to some pretty neat armor.

And there will be a couple of new strikes.

I am honestly looking forward to having a full damage corrective measure. Along with w/e else is happening with this thing.

So during the last Iron Banner, I got 3 weapons (shotgun, scout rifle, rocket launcher), but wasn't able to get the rolls I wanted for them.

Over the past month I've been earning motes of light to re-roll when the next IB hits.

So the question is, do I just hold off on doing that now?

The reforging mechanic they're giving the Gunsmith only works for HoW weapons so far.

I would love the arena to have relics and swords or switches we can hit, like mini raid moments

Would be awesome you stand there in front of weapons like swords, specials rocketlaunchers. And the game says. Pick one. Everyone picks one weapon. And then the doors open and tons of Fallen with swords run at you.

I think The Arena is going to be similar to that instance in Wrath of the Lich King where the enemies were random, but all had different move sets & tactics to kill them. A strike, with raid mechanics, if I were guessing.

baby all I need is my fate bringer and Ghorn ascended. my other 32 and 31 accounts can sit and rot with inferior weapons for all I care.

I keep hearing contradictory things about this. Someone in the main thread said they saw old weapons with a reforge icon. Where does the information about reforging only HoW weapons come from?

Believe Deej said it in the stream. When he was at the New Monarchy guy.

Hrm. Maybe Vanguard weapons only?

Hopefully the update tomorrow clarifies it. They're going to be doing something with commendations too, since vanguard weapons don't need them anymore..

That's noise. Deej clearly said in the stream that only new HoW weapons can be reforged by the gunsmith.

So that material exchange picture. Is that just upgrading materials with glimmer or can we trade in for Glimmer?

Also do exotic upgrades still take shards or are they the new Etheric Bubble?

Seems like trading materials for glimmer

How he's hovered looks how it was done with Eris. He's hovered over an ascendant shard and it's showing 1 ascendant energy and 50 glimmer to trade for the shard. I do see the 250 glimmer spot but I'm not sure what you'd trade in to get that. I'd also be interested if you could trade ascendants for radiants.

This is not impressing me at all so far...

Definitely think this part of their unveiling will mainly appeal to people who are still playing Destiny, or played it for a good while.

The new missions, strikes and endgame stuff need to be more interesting than the previous content to attract people back into Destiny I think.

This is my issue, all the changes are good but they were really long over due..the content is destiny;'s biggest issue.

I would assume that is possible as well, I think the one option was trading in ascendant and probably radiant shards and energies for glimmer but I am not 100% positive.

I played Destiny daily up until a few weeks ago when I maxed out all my three characters with everything I wanted/had. I want to see the actual new gameplay content. I was pretty confident we would get more bars to fill. This is news you give at the end: "ow hey, check out this cool stuff you can get/do now too". No raid was already a blow, but atleast lead with the reveals with the "replacement" for that.

They already announced the information for that is coming next week. at least they communicated ahead of time what was going to be shown and when.

Yeah but Jinjo they're going for the high-percentage shot. What if they show the non-raid activity and people are like BLEH we're out of here.

They will know that quality of life stuff is going to garner excitement and attention
"Oh look Fatebringer 365!"
"I can chase a new carrot!!"

And while everyone's
high on sugar
excited, they will drop the "Ok, here's what we made in lieu of the raid - hope you like it as much as you did all of our weapons and reforging and so on - but if not, see? We're listening!"

cautiously optimistic

I guess this new Arean Co Op will surprise a lot of guys here and it will be played more than Raids (a lot of guys doesn't Raids).

hmmm so people do work at Bungie

Here the 4 last people working on Destiny support and DLC. One of them is just a community manager. That explains it.

/joke.

They showed the right thing, really. Shame for the lack of raid. Now seems almost reasonable to get back in.

Excited for the upgrade paths and most of the info released today, but much more intrigued to hear exactly what Prison of Elders will be in light of there being no raid in House of Wolves.

It will be crucial in my decision to play either HoW or Witcher 3 on May 19th :-)

I found the whole stream today to be confusing, at least on how they were promoting it. Just about everything they showed, isn't anything found in the actual HoW DLC, but will be accessible for all players.

They should have marketed today's stream as upcoming contents to the game, that hits at the same time.

So is this a weapon you can pick up ala the sword? that guardian still has a heavy weapon on his back right?

Whats interesting about this, is that if it is a Relic, it's being held by two people at the same time. The guy directly to the left is holding one as well. Currently, the only other area this can be done (intentionally) is the end of the Gatekeeper fight just before Aetheon, and for about 30 seconds.

Wonder if Bungie have had the genius idea of adding in new, interesting bounties yet? Doing the same bounties every other day got tiring quickly.

This looks improved, but I still don't know if I'll pick it up again. Destiny is just a chore to play, period. I don't know if I want to go back.

The last mission in Eris' quest line has multiple swords for multiple people. I've never played it in co-op though.
