question to those who watch streams often: do you prefer it with voice from the players or with just the game audio? i've never had a recording-worthy talking voice so am not sure if my commentary is necessary, esp since my tone is a bit misleading.

Just wondering if Bungie ever said anything about buffing Monte Carlo? I really like the design of the gun but...its meh on harder level stuff.

Going from a regular raid group doing the same role every time it was cool to switch it up for once. Struggled the first couple times with that relic lol I need to make it a point to learn every role early on for Crota's End.
Oh and no FateBringer

I'm a level 30. Although my Vanquisher is maxed out, it doesn't do as much damage to the oracles as I need it to. Hoping to get some raid weapon drops for future raids. My Vanquisher is great for normal raid but it takes way too much time to kill an oracle with it on hard.

Let's say I wanna do flawless raider with some ppl here but during the raid I die.....how do we restart the raid? Just beat it and start over or just switch characters if everyone else has a character to switch.
I believe there is an option in orbit to reset your checkpoint and start at the beginning. So, die --> orbit--> reset ---> start over

Start over from orbit and practice the jumping puzzle if that's the issue. Watcha mean by dieing? Are you just asking what happens when you do die?
Yeah, it's the same as with missions. Just hit square when selecting the raid.

that's true. it's more interesting when people know what we're planning especially in control.
i guess i'll just work on sounding less annoyed.
maybe that's why more streamers are putting their web cams on.

I don't think ill have much problems tho raid isnt really hard its just a few easy mistakes and glitches that can ruin the day.

Its really not the level, its being comfortable enough to know when to back off, I think too many people try to follow the objective to a tee, so if you are trying to keep a portal up people will stand on the portal the whole time. Or if they are the relic holder they try to make sure everything is dead even if it kills them.
i'd rather take a 29 with maxed weapons than a 30 with basic gear.
given how easy it is for everyone to get and how valuable it is in the VoG - get that 77 Wizard (void) from the crucible vendor, guardians. that thing eats praetorians for breakfast after having minotaurs as appetizers. also works great for oracles.

I would rather take a 29 with maxed weapons that knows how to kill Oracles, we keep wiping because we can't kill oracles fast enough. Once you know the oracles spawns, people should be shooting as soon as they spawn cause they die super fast.

If you better understood the difference in damage output between a level 29 and 30 with the same weapon versus the same level character with a 260 and 300 weapon, your opinion would be different

Agreed, but you also need solid 30's backing you up. If someone says "since I'm 30, I'll get the relic," they better kill every last add. Nothing like being a 29, coming down the stairs, looking up at oracles, with your world going black, and getting punched by a headless goblin.

Yah but that is why its not a solid 30 ... its a solid player. I have run the hard raid more times than I can count on my lvl 29 hunter and I've been the relic holder plenty of times. You see people die because they try to stay alive for too long in situations where they can't, don't take a chance on that last hit if its going to kill you.

I spent a lot of time on Twitch back when I was really heavy into Spelunky, and I always considered it pretty much necessary to have voice from the players. Especially a game as deep as Spelunky, there's so much to discuss and describe. You can do the same with Crucible/Destiny stuff though, just explain your strats and why you use them etc. People will want to know how you are pwning all those n00bs with baby blues.
Just wanna ask of people running hard raid, please have a little experience with the relic lol. Atheon on Hard can be frustrating as is with glitches, bugs etc. but when you get there and find out the majority have never handled the relic, it becomes a bad time.
On another note, just need a few more bounties and can max out the xp on my Gjallerhorn. Then, the grind for spirit bloom, ewww. I need to look up a vid of a fast material grind spot on Venus.

My first experience in Hard raid is kinda hard
Sofar I havent got any Exotic weapon drops, got Pocket Infinity (Bounty), MIDA (Xur). But really lucky with raid gear (I have 2 pairs of boots).
Took nice mountain view picture too.
Aah and it went through, my first hard raid. It took another 2h to finish. We had fun, even though glitches were not so fun. To walk in teleport and appear in next to Atheon. Also that teleport glitch (teleports 2 players). I think it has something to do if you die when bubble is going off and use rebirth just before teleport sequence.

RNG rewards after 3 Raids (2 NM, 1 HM)

- Full raid chest (1 extra leg armor)
- Legendary Ship
- Rare Ship
- Shards & energy
At level 29, The Swarm helped me really much with those Oracles @ teleport phases.

Yeah, I've learned it the hard way. I never played hard raid until I was level 30 with my warlock. Now trying with my level 29 hunter. It's crazy how fast you can die.
that sentence is a turd. what's your point? that a 30 with 257 weapons does more damage than a 29 with 300 weapons?
I know 29s deal 30% less damage than 30s (against lvl 30 enemies), but i have no charts for attack level/impact-damage output values... yet from personal experience I find the attack level of your gun more important when talking about the difference between 29/30.

With a bunch of 29s they should all just spray fart on the adds before the Relic holder gets to them. If they fall behind on Oracles a 4th can come in and clean up the back end. Using heavy ammo on Oracles adds can cost some Time's Vengeance DPS on Atheon, but that can also be compensated by the relic holder getting into position before the last Oracle is killed. An all 29 group is nearly flawless hard raid. Very fun with the right people.
77 Wizard is the only vendor weapon I have purchased and fully upgraded on all of my characters.

Sure, I guess what I'm getting at and I'm beating around the bush to get there... I'm starting to see 30's that got there via cheese methods and maybe one or two normal runs or IB, and really don't know what to do. People are starting to look at 30's like they are a sure fire win, and 29's are dead weight, when that is starting to become further from reality.
They aren't asking for help, or taking advice well because...hey, I'm 30.

Bungie needs to completely rework exotic armor.
Even the best exotic armor perks simply do not matter in comparison to jumping from level 29 to level 30. Furthermore, there is no such thing as build optimization because "builds" don't even exist in this game.
Melee and strength already don't matter and Grenades/discipline really don't either (though it's certainly convenient to have them more often) so exotic armor should be Bungie's way of enhancing the grenade or melee and making people want to make a build around getting one or the other more often.
Exotic armor needs to do something that actually matters. To throw out an example, Sunbreakers tripling the damage of my Solar grenades and Scorch attacks as opposed to adding two seconds of solar grenade. Or Achlyophage Symbiote quadrupling the damage of Golden Gun. Then we're talking about something that actually matters. Right now it's sad and pathetic. While the Icebreaker has a nearly game-breaking perk of ammo regeneration, your Apotheosis Veil restores your HP once every 2 minutes when you decide to fuck around and not use Fireborn.

i wouldn't say builds don't exist but they're not as emphasized as we're led to believe. the exotic armor is fine in pvp, but it doesn't make much difference in pve (beyond extra ammo) so i'd agree. maybe the perks should include a bonus to pve stats

Hunter I tend to favor the helms, but the spine can be very fun. Symbiote is a big help.
Titan the second grenade is nice sometimes, but DFA/Melee/Blind builds are something I do. No raid helmet yet.
Warlock... I don't really die very often so the perks related to that are meh to me. Use Apotheosis Veil mainly for the +Discipline. Everything else has too much STR or INT (Sunsinger STR build is pretty good.) With the veil my Warlock has a 99% bonus to Super and the rest is all Discipline for grenades.

Another nightfall done, another shit reward received (Legendary engram turned into an Hex Caster and sharded right away) what the fuck man...i don´t even remember the last time i´ve got something good or at least decent from nightfall strikes, in fact, the rewards are getting worse.
I´m having a really hard time trying to organize a raiding party with my buds lately, between their jobs, sons, etc, its almost impossible, the last 2 raids we were just 5 (several of my clanmates are playing other games already) yesterday 4 of us were waiting for one of them, and when he could connect it was already too damn late for me to start the raid, shit sucks.
Aaaand, i´ve been trying some crucible, crazy shit, people play control as deathmatch, nobody takes the fucking control points, everyone runs in weird directions and the radar always shows blips all around my location, there is no order, no objective, nothing, i´ve been playing a fair amount of Iron Banner, and i was doing ok, but man, this is another thing entirely, i don´t even know how to play anymore, maybe i should stick my back against a wall and shoot at everything that comes close to me lol.
