Destiny |OT16| Enrage is here, there, everywhere...

Red Death is pretty garbage, I just hate pulling the trigger 30 million times. I hate pulse rifles so much, unless you can turn them Auto.

Also its so nice that after two weeks, I have spent maybe 30 hours on Crota HM to not be able to complete it. Every night its the same shit.

3-4 hours of trying,

No one being able to follow instructions, oh we got his health down to 25%. Ahhh he teleports down by the Ogre spawn to kill us all. Or

Nice after 7 rockets, he regenerated his health and killed our sword bearer.

Look we lost a team mate and now have to find someone else, and go over the whole middle strategy all over again. Yay.

I hit this wall in early Decemeber when the exotic reset and vendor commendation news came out, I lost most of my motivation to play the game. Since then, I've been progressively cutting down on the amount of time I play, with a couple of weeks inbetween where I didn't even play the game at all.

First I cut off doing Vanguard strikes and Daily heroic story, then I cut off PvP, then I cut off the off doing the bounties(Eris will now forever be stuck at rank 1 lol) and Heroic weeklys, and now this week, I haven't even bothered doing the nightfalls, just the hard mode CE raids.

I have to admit, this transition from playing everyday to only playing only a couple of hours a week, has felt

The constant drive to play the game in an attempt to get that rare loot, was beginning to hit those dangerous levels of gambling addiction for me. Forcing myself through Weekly's and Nightfalls, hoping against hope that I would get dat weapon or armour piece that I wanted, even though I knew full well that the odds of me getting it, were about the same as me ever getting with Angelina Jolie, took it's toll.

I just stepped back, (literally) slapped myself a few times, then went away and did other things. That feeling of a great weight being lifted off my shoulders felt so good.

Who knows, when HoW comes out, I may find that previous drive again, but if it's anything like CE, that ain't happening.

I did the same thing, and took about 3 weeks. Then I came back and got even more addicted when good loot started dropping for me.

It's like an abusive significant other. When you tell her that you are leaving and actually leave for awhile she starts treating you better when you all try to talk later on. But you always know she is only doing this temporarily. She will go back to giving you Ass Shards in Nightfall the moment you start showing signs of affection.

lots of their decisions don't make sense. I'm still wondering why NFs give ass mats.

Yeah. I don't know why VoG couldn't have just gotten a level 32 hard version that dropped level 32 raid gear and 331 raid weapons. Then VoG would still be viable beyond the gorgon checkpoint and Atheon.

Well I know why, but just saying.

I still really like VoG as a whole, but the Templar section is kind of a chore because its just a waiting game, arrive here, wait for xx minutes while we throw enemies at you. That is one thing I like about Crota End if you can kill stuff fast, and do the mechanics correctly you can complete it fairly fast. Not that I want quick raids, but sitting in one spot killing the same stuff over and over is a little tiring, kind of feels like an escort quest... having to wait for the slow walkers... start running you jerk!

Yeah, same here. I found the Confluxes, Oracles, boring and timesink. The "everybody dies" in Gorgon part is poor design. The actual Templar fight, Gatekeepers and Atheon (minus the bugs) are nice, The Abyss, Bridge, and Crota fight (minus the bugs, wait I sense a pattern here) are also nice, and I appreciate the fact that this raid is shorter than VoG.

Well, if we assume no more than 5 people are still working on the game, it makes sense.

I'm in the same boat, only I was able to step away thanks to work, which sees me traveling away from home a lot. It feels good not worrying about Destiny every day. I only play now on weekend evenings, for the most part. Still love the game though.

I've heard this a lot.

Makes me wonder if your RNG chances increase when not logging in for extended periods of time... Would make sense to lure people back when it appears they are losing interest.

Not if you are still gunning for Black Hammer. I don't want to have to run sCrota twice. Guess I just do a normal Crota cp and then full Hard each week. Bleh!

Yes, but think about it in the long run. It would have been nice if a normal weapon didn't displace a hard if you're doing just hard, but it isn't like that. Bungie chose to just not have them. Lesser of two evils. Like I said, the reactions to getting the shotgun for beating hard Crota would have not been pretty.

You ran out of weapon parts? I still have over 1k though I do spend a lot of time dismantling stuff.
Just double checked, less then 150 total weapon parts across all characters and vault, but I have between 500 and 1k of each armor part. I like having multiples of weapons so I don't have to swap them out at the vault, in the last OT I listed out a bunch of notable multiples that I have, but basically every VoG raid weapons is 3x max, all the good exotics you can think of I have between 2 to 3 at max ... I'm just a crazy person :( Leaves no room for picking up weapon and weapon engrams to dismantle into new parts.

Hit me up, we'll get a team together to get you through it this weekend.

lol, I was just about to delete my warlock as keeping up with three chracters was too much of a chore and I didnt want to be tempted in leveling her up. I ran a nightfall with it right before TDB dropped and got my 1st ice breaker. didnt delete that charatcer. that warlock has had the worst luck since then. I am about to contemplate delting her again which means a hawkmoon is right around the corner

You get two drops on Hard Crota, they should have reserved one for possible normal weapon drops and the 2nd for hard.

can someone tell me if i'm doing something wrong?

currently lvl 26 and trying to level up further. been doing strikes, bounties, patrol missions or whatever to try level up vanguard. currently only at 1 and about 3/4 way to 2. as i understand it i need to get to 2 to be able to buy stuff from my vanguard. some items need a commendation...do i get one every time i level up the vanguard? i currently have purple legs and will get purple arms from eris? so it's got a purple hat and purple chest i need to buy from the vanguard.

is this the right procedure to buy these items? it just feels like it's taking forever.

also...how do i even kill this urzok character? i know where he appears but just can't do any damage to him. i think i read you need to use an arc weapon to break his shield then his health goes down faster but i hardly made a dent on him. i really want to get these eris bounties done so she can give me my purple arms! should i come back when i get my other purple stuff?

thanks!
Suggestion:

Upgrade your Legendary Boots and Eris Gauntlets. Buy a Helmet or Chest (preferably Helmet but whatever) from Xûr using strange coins.

Xûr Helmet = 36 Light
Eris Gauntlets = 33 Light
Legendary Boots = 33 Light
Chest (whatever random blue you own) = 18 Light

There you go, that's level 30 without using a single commendation. Level 30 lets you easily participate in Nightfall Strikes for a chance at Exotics, Weekly Heroic for Strange Coins, Daily Heroic for upgrade materials, Vault of Glass for fun, ass and Fatebringer, and Crota's End for better armor :)

If you have the above-cited setup, changing your blue chest for the Crota's End chest when it drops will instantly take you to level 31 (18->30 Light chest).

Good luck!

DGaf will always be around. Most people will at least do nightfalls/weeklies and probably raids when other games are out, I'd imagine. It may very well depend on how fun HoW raid is. May through Sept, who knows.

This has been my experience since last weekend. The first two times last week we finished it relatively fast, but this week had played out just like this minus the one gaf group I was in yesterday evening/this morning that just got screwed by glitches. The sword disappeared on our 3rd sword and Crota enraged due to time. We never got closer than that.

Come to think of it, I got 2 GHorns the first week back after not playing for a week due to Dragon Age, Thanksgiving, etc. I never saw one before and haven't seen one since. Theory PROVED.

Anyone still use Corrective Measure? I've probably killed the Gatekeeper 20 times and haven't ever gotten it. It's the one VoG weapon I'm missing, so it just kind of bugs me.

That's the big question mark for Destiny right now. I'd hope that Bungie won't abandon Destiny until Comet comes out but you never know.

bububut there will be no Raidteams then :(

Chalice dungeon co-op ftw !

Can I bring Gjallarhorn to BB?

Those bosses look terrifying

Yes.... but it will only tickle them.

Yeah, same here. I found the Confluxes, Oracles, boring and timesink. The "everybody dies" in Gorgon part is poor design.

Yeah, the inability to lower completion time with increasing skill ceiling really hurts Confluxes + Oracles, especially since they are back to back. HM Oracles done legit only feels slow for the first couple waves, I think a lot of people think of it that way because it was always cheesed so much. I can't remember the last time a group I was with bothered to do Oracles legit, it's really well designed for balancing your weapon load out.

The "everybody dies" in Gorgon part is poor design.

On the other hand... I definitely can't agree with that one. The only poor design is that your bodies don't disappear. I love Gorgons, they fit so well with the overall VoG mood and theme. When learning their routes for flawless runs, I just sat in the maze by myself for 30+ minutes and watched them, listened to their different sound effects. Really brilliant sound design, like a mixture of a computer and a wild animal.

Ok, I've spent too much time in VoG.

He ran it with me last week. He has the Glowhoo shader on one of his characters too.
Yeah, I saw the shader. I was questioning whether he had much experience with the 'easy' strat to claim that it is almost as good as cheese.

i.e. multiple clears with several characters.

Jason Kidd murdered my dog in cold blood!
That's the big question mark for Destiny right now. I'd hope that Bungie won't abandon Destiny until Comet comes out but you never know.

Nothing new from after the March release until September would effectively kill the game.

Nightfalls were easier that week as well. I didn't need to carry you on my back for a week. RNG is linked to Iceman's back. Let me rest a week and then it will start raining loot.
