Posted this before, wanted to give people a heads up again, will probably post this again just so everyone knows what's up.

In regards to ToO lighthouse runs:

So for the few Xbox folks who signed up: I should be on Saturday in the afternoon (around 11 EST, or earlier) for some time, and again in the evening thinking closer to 8 or 9 EST.

Sunday should be the same.

And like I said before, I'm no pro. I can't guarantee a trip to the Lighthouse. But I can guarantee a good time for all! No pressure fun, with rewards, what more can we hope for?

Also, if there are any XBO pros, please join and help out!

I'll add everyone who signed up sometime soon here, or add me if you want. Hoping to play some practice tonight and tomorrow so invite/join if you see me on. By practice I mean just playing crucible, nothing too fancy.

How do we sign up? What's your tag? I'll add you and look for you this weekend.

Skolas should not have any elemental burns whatsoever. It either makes the fight stupidly annoying or stupidly easy. I would be fine if they put some of the other modifies on, like juggler or trickle, just don't make nearly everything in the room one shot us.
I really feel like Skolas should have the no stagger modifier on. He's the freaking final boss of the expansion, self proclainlmed ruler of all of the fallen, and I can lock him in a stagger with a sniper rifle? Doesn't seem right.

they definitely trivialize the difficulty. omnigul would probably be a decent strike with no burns (or maybe it was ass, i don't remember). arc burn however is the dumbest thing i've ever played. and then you have solar burn where she dies in all of 3 seconds.

No Burn Ommigul wasn't hard, but it was a grind. Took fucking forever. I'd take Arcburn over Angry/Juggler/Lightswitch.

Can I come again? I'll bring a Titan this time.

34. So just we are clear lol.

Haha yeah sure, if namis alright with it. You gave me a heart attack when you were level 33~ But then you mysteriously became 34 so it all worked out lol
The more the merrier. Just don't take my bounty. :p

If Breezy goes with his Titan, things will be much easier for us. I'll be going as my Hunter so I'll be on mine duty.

Hi everyone! (For new page, I'll be spamming this today, also please do not quote the whole post below)

I'm building a list to figure out how many members here on DGAF that have yet to reach Mercury. Once that list is built, it will be shared among the volunteers below. Please fill out the form accordingly

Signed up for Fri as I have the day off. I've only done Trials once, but managed seven wins on my card without using the free loss buff.

Thanks for this, looking forward to it!

I want to do PoE 34 and 35 but seeing all the reactions to it, I'm kind of hesitant, especially considering I'm not really sure I have the gear to do them.

That does nothing to make it interesting it just makes it way more difficult than what would be considered challenging but fun.

yup. juggler, lightswitch + brawler, trickle, small arms, grounded and airborne are all good modifiers.

I don't understand what makes his viewpoint legitimate.

If you're primary strategy is to kill the boss before other mechanics kick in during a fight, you shouldn't be considered a high-level player.

So are we suppose to wait until all the odds are against us and start fighting then?
The fight seems to have a ton of things to put you at a distadvantage like add spamming, mines, that debuff mechanic, so I feel like it's fair to do that bubble/sniper thingy and get him down or close to being killed before anything kicks in. It's not like people are using Gjallarhorn this week like last week either, he gets stunned so why not use that as an advantage.

I am a firm believer that a game design where every single thing is stacked up against you to make it difficult and one where you have no advantage of your own is a poor one.

I wish the game had more interesting debuffs though rather than debuffs that just kills you. Modifiers are close to those interesting debuffs but Skolas might be better off with non burn modifiers and instead stuff like Icarus, Specialist, Small arms.

This is an interesting thought, and one I'd love to see implemented (or removed rather) for Destiny 2.

Elemental Burns seem to do more harm for this game than good. They trivalize encounters, force players into certain roles with certain weapons, and make certain enemies way more lethal than they should be.

I now hope bungie removes or replaces these with better modifiers in the future. Adding modifiers this expansion was a good step in the right direction, though I still have my complaints about some of them.

Well he isn't a time travelling space robot or a giant demigod albeit a weakened one. Skolas has been in Prison for a while so you have to forgive his scrubbinness :p

Level 34 PoE Voidwalker trick--use the Ram to hit the detainment shield every two or so shotgun shots. It procs Life Steal.

My team nearly defeated Qodron before we even knew about the eye mechanic.

I quite enjoyed the Weekly Heroic this week. Specialist was a good modifier and Vestian Dynasty rocked it. Almost none of the randoms I played with used it and it showed as I typically had more kills than the other two combined.

lol, me and 5 of my mates, who all have the exotic ToO emblem, were just playing clash and we got MM with another 6 man fireteam who also all had the exotic ToO emblem. The game started off slowly with no one taking risks and trying to feel each other out, but then it all kicked off when one of my mates killed one of their players and teabagged him.

Shit went crazy from there, you had everyone running around like a headless chickens into multiple enemies just to kill one guy who had teabagged him to try and teabag him back. One guy killed the mate of mine who had started off the whole craziness and started dancing on his corpse, but didn't pay attention to his surroundings and the mate of mine who he had just killed managed to spawn in, run to where he had been killed, found the guy still there dancing, then he felwintered him, and started dancing on his corpse in retaliation.

The match was full of ridiculous shit like this, no one was even playing properly and the timer ran out before anyone reached 10k points. You had people sending each other voice messages afterwards and ripping into one another, voice messages which I can't write down here since it it would probably be deleted by a mod lol

It was brilliant though, I haven't seen such banter in a console shooter game for a long time.

I don't like Small Arms and Specialist. Mostly because it puts like a 20% or 30% damage reduction on the other two weapon types, and I hate that. I hate that I can't pull out a shotgun or sniper to do some big damage very quickly. Even a Rocket launcher is barely worth while.

Just have to sit there with my primary and go pop pop pop pop pop pop pop pop pop pop pop pop pop pop pop pop pop pop pop pop pop pop pop pop pop pop etc...

does it really affect the other weapons? that's kinda dumb. i thought it was just a buff on the primary or special.

Use maxed out Mythoclast (counts as a Special weapon) for maximum effectiveness.

lol sounds like a fun game. did this happen on rusted lands?

Yeah, I'd be surprised if it did. I haven't felt other weapons be debuffed..

I'm pretty sure it does.

During a Small Arms round I know Fatebringer was doing 932 and Blackhammer was doing 1045. Plus, it was taking 6 Shotgun shots to take out a Major Capt with a shield.

I don't have proof yet, but I'm pretty certain. I've also noticed the wording for those modifiers. "Primary/Special weapons are favored"

Also, during a Small Arms round, a major servitor took 4 G'horn shots.

No. It's fine if you can DPS your way to victory, but whining about not being able to rocket a boss to death is not acceptable. If you can't DPS quickly, you should be able to execute mechanically. A"high-level" player is one who can adapt and execute regardless of circumstances.

I feel like I am the only person here who hasn't played PoE level 35 and faced Skolas.

I haven't tried it yet, but that's more because I haven't hit level 34 yet. Saving my etheric light until I get at least 4 so I can have more choices on which gear I want to ascend. I do not want to end up with a majority STR build.

That's what struck me about the guy in the video.

"I Don't think I'll do it if it's void next week, not until I can use my gjallahorn'

It's like, holy shit, you consider that a pro? Datto for example, who I posted a video of, didn't complain about not being able to Ghorn him. He certainly didn't make a video about how it's the worst fight ever and it's impossible. Yes, he did spend hours doing the fight, but it's a huge drastic difference in response..

..Nami and silver, I'm ready when you guys are.

Had a pretty similar experience as everyone doing Skolas last night. Breezed through the whole PoE and then got stuck on him for like 2 hours. Here's the strategy we finally beat it with. Nothing groundbreaking, but it was smooth.

-Two defender titans, one with a BoL bubble and one with WoL
-Typical run in and go left, drop bubble w/WoL by where the mine spawns.
-All three unloaded on Skolas with snipers. We all had P&T and this didn't present a problem considering the rest of our strategy.
-As soon as the bonds were broken and Variks gives his schpeal about mines we stopped DPS and cut left up the stairs and started clearing out adds.
-First mine spawned right next to us. Moved together and disarmed.
-Second mine spawned in the middle, moved together and we dropped our BoL bubble there to disarm/keep clearing adds.
-Moved to the farthest mine spawn, keep clearing adds, other titan had his bubble back which we dropped to help give more time to clear adds
-Moved all the way back to where we started burning Skolas, cleaned adds up and make sure there is a clean line of sight on Skolas
-Finish killing Skolas

The whole time we had the tainted buff, we made sure to call out the timer on five second increments. It got passed at 5-10 seconds remaining. You have to be very communicative about the buff. Who is taking it, who is immune, etc.

Honestly, I think the problem is that everybody is so dead set on burning Skolas and avoiding the encounter. That's fine - if it is a viable solution for your group, then have it. But we wiped for almost two hours doing that. Once we switched gears and took the mindset of, okay, let's just deal with these fight mechanics instead of trying to avoid them...honestly it was a lot easier and a lot more rewarding (intrinsically rewarding, none of us got shit, fuck you Bungie, etc).

For our last run, our communication was flawless. It wasn't the fastest way to do it but there is much less risk when you work as a team and just deal with what Bungie designed. That might sound like horseshit, but that was just my experience. Wish I would have recorded that last run. It was actually fun.

TL;DR Think about trying to do the encounter as it was designed. Adds are overwhelming, but with good communication and teamwork it went pretty smoothly once we abandoned the burn mentality.

Perhaps it was just an impulse reaction to being frustrated at the game. I've written shit loads of stuff because PoE is honestly frustrating and everything I dislike about PvE contents in games...but I still give it a try once in a day or two. :/

Nami, Breezy, fucking huge traffic Jam on my way home. Glad If u guys Can e tem não wait but If you cant its fine. Nilla Can replace me. I'll be home in 15m.
