They sort of tried that with the Urn quest at least.
And what an amazing reward that was.

That altered final mission was reward enough. I would think stuff like that would be the key to adding more variety to the game. And what an amazing reward that was.
I jokingly suggested that Skolas have a Nightfall modifier next week. At least it would drastically change the way people approach the encounter. As it is, there's no incentive to let it play out as you would.
As for the 34 boss, the times I did it, we just Horned him to death in the first minute. Although there's a part of me that would like to see the gimmicks in the fight, the fact that "use Horn" is a solution to nearly every encounter in the game kind of defeats the purpose. Although they will probably never nerf the Horn, the Small Arms/Specialist modifiers at least makes using Horns somewhat less viable. That seems to be the only way to insert a challenge to most of the encounters now, since everything is based on DPS still.

The run actually started with ZW, Macello and I. Then eventually Phenom, Hudson, Val and Entho joined before Driz coming in last to help finish it. 8+ hours, and 8 players involved.

They've had this since their Halo days. It's strange, because the only way they seem to be able to make the game "hard" is to artificially limit the damage you can output and increase the damage enemies do to you,
Guys, can the exotic helms/gauntlets/greaves have either strength, discipline or intellect? Or is each exotic set to a specific stat?
Yeah, easily one of my favorite missions in the game.
I got the HM Scrota CP thanks to the kindness of LiffeyNinja, we can run it in ~10 if everyone is ready then. With me +2 friends, you, and Ken there's one spot open if anyone else wants to join.

Oh yeah, I remember that for ODST. A limited pool of lives (or even a limited pool of revives) would at least get people to reconsider some encounters.Speaking of PoE design, I know you jokingly said "Nightfall" modifier on PoE, but I'm surprised they didn't go the ODST route and just give a limited amount of lives for the entire squad. ODST hordemode was always really challenging because of that. It had modifiers, but enemies were never able to oneshot you. Can't believe they didn't look at their most succesful gameplay designs from their own library, but instead went for "this" (read that in a tone of disgust).
Honestly, it seems like they put all the best stuff behind PVP this time. Which is great if you like PVP, but for PVE, it's just... well, another grind.Yeah sort of. Just make it hard and don´t advertise anything in advance so players will know about it. I love fun secret stuff like that in games. They should have more of that in this game.
Oh yeah, but in Destiny terms, it really seems like a reaction to VoG being too "easy". Of course, people still beat Skolas on day one anyway, so I'm not sure what they achieved with this new design. They've had this since their Halo days.
Each exotic piece is set to a specific stat. How high (or how low) that stat roll is depends on RNG. DIfferent exotic helms can have different stats, but a Saint-14 will always roll intellect and a Light Beyond Nemesis will always roll with strength for instance.
Not particularly, I had claws of ahamkara with strength and discipline. I got another one from an engram today with pure intellect.
I'm ready in 10. Who to message on PSN?
One treasure key down, two to go
This farming keys crap is really draining me.
We're cheesing the bridge now if you join soon, then we'll switch straight to Scrota. PSN is DrDrizzay101.
I wasn't aware of Exotixs having perk or stat type variation. Like St. 14 can have more Int or less Int but I think you'll never ever see it with Dis or Str.iwannaseethereceipts.gif
Honestly, I've never encountered anything like this myself. Mind blown if true. Maybe that's just true with Xur-sold exotics and stuff from engrams can differ?
Any news about Unstable doing ToO runs tonight?
Afaik he will be running ToO with people that signed up for the list that haven't been to Mercury yet.
Anybody here want to do HM Scrota? A buddy wants to carry his 30 Warlock alt for gear, I can solo Abyss and probably cheese bridge, but we can do stuff legit if there's enough folks. Or if anyone has Scrota CP we can just bust that out...
I completely understood when you quit last week in Round 4 of PoE 34 that I was playing with you. A room full of Hive Knights and Major Wizards with Arc Burn while trying to dismantle mines and playing at level 33 is just an exercise in frustration and not fun.
IMO the worst decision and the one that really makes me think they don't know how to make challenging encounters is the permanent level disadvantage. Such a cheap way to raise difficulty, as can now be seen in HM CE once you run it as a level 33.
Perfect. Hope I can get on the train to Mercury!Afaik he will be running ToO with people that signed up for the list that haven't been to Mercury yet.
Can you even play the Ritual of Sacrifice mission again?Yeah, easily one of my favorite missions in the game.

Do we know around what time he's starting?

Although, hiding behind a Titan bubble with weapons of light while shooting Skolas seems like it would be viable in pretty much every situation regardless. lol
Small Arms/No Burn would probably at least force people to do the encounter "as intended" at least, and you wouldn't have to deal with one hit deaths.

Well why would I lie.
I dismantled the other claws with discipline and strength, so all I have right now is the one with intellect.
Holy shit Burning Shrine is fucking dumb in Clash. Closest thing this game probably has to Shipment from CoD 4.
It's awesome - nonstop chaos. I love it.

If you only have access to view a spreadsheet, you can still use filter views in two ways:
Only users with edit access to a spreadsheet can create filter views that are accessible to anyone viewing the spreadsheet.
- Apply existing filter views, which can be found by clicking the Data menu > hovering over Filter views or by clicking the dropdown arrow next to the Filter icon.
- Sort and filter data on your own screen to create a temporary filter view that is accessible only to you. Because you dont have edit access to the spreadsheet, the filter view won't be saved and won't be available if the spreadsheet is refreshed in the browser.
It's funny, because with VoG, there was a bit of a light at the end of the tunnel... the prospect of reaching the same level as Atheon made the fight as a level 29 seem "fair". That and there were just more varied mechanics that went beyond relying on DPS.There comes a point where trying to make your game "hard" (or not easy) starts destroying the fun you have with said game. IMO we've crossed that point. And I consider myself a pretty dedicated/good player. But yeah, I would really like to play Skolas the legit way. That's always what made Atheon/Templar fun (when they thankfully patched the cheeses). Those encounters are challenging, but they were never 'cheap'/artificially difficult. I actually think that a no-burn Skolas would be really challenging and fun.
Good morning Everyone!
-snip-
(sorry lol)
Is anyone interested in a 34PoE? I want to get it out of the way before trials.
Last boss is a bitch but if we have Titan bubble and yolohorns it's all win.
ToO hype! Can't wait to see the list to check if my turn will be tonight
Can you even play the Ritual of Sacrifice mission again?
Sadly you cannot, really wish they would patch in that option similar to what they did for the first TDB mission with the Fist.
Only way to redo it is do the Urn quest on a other character or join someone else who is at that point in the quest. Definitely disappointing.
Dat RNG - Bought 3 Engrams
edit: Top of the page - Delete a Horn
I'm not calling you a liar. It just seems so rare to me/I've never seen it myself so I am curious. I have str/disc Claws myself so I'll settle for seeing just the Int Claws haha.
Awesome work Lnkn! I would like to increase my availability to tomorrow (saturday) as well. Is there a way to change this/could you add it in there?
Edit: whoops, lemme just PM you.
