Destiny |OT23| This Train is Bound for Mercury

Did you really need to teabag the bladedancer?

No, I didn't.

I was overcome in smugness when I killed a bladedancer at full health without even taking damage.

He also sent me some hate mail:

Do you really want to huuurt meeee, do you really want to maaaake me cryyyyy.

Awesome though, I'm totally jealous... you bastard.

You do not know what you are missing, i started playing last wednesday when i got sick, and have no words. Without a doubt the best game i have played in a good view years, basically this is gonna be my benchmark in which i am gonna measure games from now on. For the size of the team and the budget, cdproject has created a masterpiece. There are some bugs and glitches , but the size of the world, attention to detail, enormous amount of content just squash those negatives. Best of all you are going to play it on pc, so jealous, think i am gonna start saving for one.

That's awesome to hear, hopefully I can sit and play it through for a few weeks once I get my destiny addiction through.

Someone talk me out of dismantling my only Suros Regime. I hate it so much and I need a shard.

Just do it, Xur loves selling that shit and no word on AR buff anytime soon.

I am YOLO when it comes to dismantling...can usually get stuff back eventually, don't really regret anything I've gotten rid of.

I'll be around tonight around 9:30 or so and am game for whatever. I haven't touched any of the raids since HoW came out so whatever everyone is up for.

Quite the promotion! I'll do my best not to screw it up.

I believe Haybro is busy tonight as well. I'm down to do anything. I wouldn't mind a raid run or two to pick up some missing hunter armor and a Found Verdict but PoE might be easier with reduced people.

I'll be running NFs with my brother earlier and I'm sure I can rope him in to fill out a 6 man team or help fill out two 3 man PoE squads.

I'm up for 3x NFs and/or some PoE. Wouldn't mind attempting a 35 for the first time with it being solar burn. Not sure what the 32 or 34 is this week.

I'd actually like to run PoE 32 and maybe 34 if anyone else is interested. I've been ignoring my Warlock pretty much since HoW came out and I'd like to get him to 33. Also wouldn't mind some more E light (was able to get 5 from IB).

So yeah, I'd like to at least do PoE 32 and after that I'm down for whatever.

All added/updated.

it really is a pos right now... I will talk you out of it though... bungie can be guaranteed to wreck every weapon eventually meaning full swing back to the old days where you needed a suros in pvp.... it will happen.

just look at fusions, handcannon nerf coming , auto rifles will be viable again

I never shard anything... wished I hadn't sharded my old red hand IX but I see it's for sale again...

I see little point in it if its not a dupe. I'd just wait until I can buy a shard again. Suros will be sold sure, but when? Could be next week but also end of the year at the earliest.

300 rolls and still never seen full auto + firefly. Its ridiculous.

Are you trying to reroll the NL Shadow? I rolled one with zen moment, small bore and full auto. It was exciting in theory until I used it and realized it hit like a kitten and that Hawkmoon has the same range...it became weapon parts.

I love theory crafting new legendary guns, but never use them because the exotic hand cannons are so OP. I really hoped that the new cipher exotics would have been outstanding so that they introduced a new legendary primary meta.

I never thought I'd have more motes than weapon parts. I started HoW with around 2500 and now I'm down to 84...I have a problem with gambling for the perfect roll.

I limit myself to 10 rolls a weapon max. Keeps me from falling into a deep hole.

It blows my mind how much better the crucible maps are for HoW compared to the tDB maps.

Yes, they are 100x better. Widow's Peak alone is one of the best maps in the game.

Someone talk me out of dismantling my only Suros Regime. I hate it so much and I need a shard.

Buy a shard from Xur.

Sitting here on my lunch break reading. I have played no games in 2 days. I slept for 8.5 hours and watched the boys play Splatoon last night while reading a book (and doing laundry).

It feels weird. But it was nice to sleep, for sure.

Checking in on my peeps. Might be getting off early Friday and may jump in a bit then. :) maybe.

Well, the point I was trying to make is that I can't. The fight I was attempting last night is gone for a reset or two at least.

I might be down to try and burn him in one shot tonight with Gjallarhorn though.

Disagree. 4th Horseman and some Saint-IV bubbles made that round a blast for me. The objective target didn't even get 6 feet out. Loved it. Went quickly and there are tons of loadouts that can be effective for it especially keeping in mind the Vex and UR. Different strokes. Maybe you mean round 4 which is the boss fight with Small Arms which has far fewer yellows but my group last night had a much more tedious run of. Still didn't mind it that much overall though the boss was a sponge.

We just finished our 3x Skolas'ings for the week and I still think Horn spam is the easiest kill method for any burn, even though Void burn was nice. His scorch cannon isn't a big deal with a Titan bubble, and the ease of rocket spam vs crit sniping makes it easy to get the damage in while avoiding his fire. The only downside is goofy stuff can still happen and a wipe can result in a 9+ minute cool down wait. Definitely give it a try this week, gotta get that kill :)

Round 3 is the Arc Burn Cabal mine dismantle, Round 4 is the Fallen VIP kill w/ Specialist, and Round 5 is the Pilot Servitor mini-boss w/ Small Arms. I agree that Shotguns + Defenders make Round 4 a lot of fun, I like running Vex + Found Verdict for the double special weapon buff.

It feels like we played a lot together this past week in IB, so we might be sick of each other. Regardless, here's the weekly raid post.

I won't be able to play tonight for the first Tuesday in at least 3 months. =\ I'm pulling a "GRIP", though, not a "schwagger15". I should be back next week. In the interim, I'm promoting captscience to the leader party chat maker. I'll keep this post updated throughout the day, though, and try to post the final list around 5 Eastern.

I'll also abstain from suggested itineraries, so when you respond to confirm your availability (or otherwise), please include what content you'd like to do tonight.

Team 1 - 8:30 PM Eastern
1) captscience (PSN captscience) ??
2) stb's pal (PSN Capt_Verde) ??
3) schwagger15 (PSN spyder_ur) ??
4) GRIP (PSN GriP17-) ??
5) StereoType (PSN Haybro_) ??
6) Dave_6 (PSN DaveS78) ??

Team 2 - no specified time this week
1) ich00 (PSN ichabod00) ??
2) kazeshini (PSN rasengan1337) ??
3) LTWood12 (PSN LTWOOD12) ??
4) T-44 (PSN T-44) ??
5) Hung Wei Lo (PSN Kinezo) ??
6) Rollo Tomasi (PSN kreepmode) ??

Alts
1) LkPr (PSN LkPr) ??
2) Rollo Tomasi (PSN kreepmode) ??
3) manicstreet (PSN manicstreet) ??
4) Frostburn (PSN US-Frostburn) ??
5) Lnkn52 (PSN Lnkn52) ??
6) Deku Tree (PSN DekuBleep) ??
7) Narmer212 (PSN GKW212) ??

Unable to play tonight
x) stb (PSN Berried_treasurE]

wooo...I've been promoted back to Team 2 after a short stint on the Alt list! Seeing all these groups forming (and completing content) always makes me feel like I'm behind the 8-ball despite the constant groups forming during the week right up until reset.

Anyhoo, I'm available for the 9:30 slot (potentially earlier if the rain does hit - meaning no walking the dog, because he's a diva that doesn't like getting wet) I'd prefer to do 3xNF first, then probably PoE 32 since I'm still stuck at 33 (unless I bring my 500 STR Titan o_0)

Also, my new Six Dreg Pride II is maxed out. Finished leveling it and Titan and Hunter PoE boots. I'm done for now.

I dont collect weapons and can't remember the last time I used my Suros (maybe two months ago). If I'm in need of an exotic shard in the middle of the week (I have a ton...haha) then Suros would probably be my next dismantled right behind NLB.

If I haven't used something in the past few weeks and need shards/parts,etc I usually dismantle.

Just dismantled a bunch of legendaries yesterday (Red Hand, HoW fusion rifles, Queens Hand, HoW snipers) for weapons parts for Ghorn upgrade....don't regret.

Not enough time to play with everything and my load out is pretty static.

I understand keeping from a collectors view or "I'll use one day", but I guess I just don't play that way.

good choice though, I played all weekend but last night stopped at level 4.5 in iron banner at 10 pm, I was like , yup I'm going to bed , yup I'm old , deal with it.... lol.

no ragrets lol.

Her Benevolence has higher base aim assist than previously reported, plus with it being re-rollable it makes it a Tier 1 sniper, probably the best in the game with Shortgaze/LongView slr10, hidden hand, quickdraw/snapshot/injection mold, and unflinching.
https://www.reddit.com/r/CruciblePlaybook/comments/37fqub/snipers_reforging/?limit=500

I rolled one with Hidden Hand, Unflinching, Injection Mold, but didn't get the scopes or the other perks, best I got was Ambush.

Yeah, we spent hours last night attempting Skolas and never got him down. Thanks to everyone who put in great earnest attempts without ever getting angry or pissed off. The nice thing about Skolas is that you can almost always reliably burn him down to 20% health, but getting that last sliver of his life bar down is a huge mountain to climb. Since it's possible to always demonstrate progress and it always seems like you "just nearly almost killed him!" I think it keeps the group in good spirits after hours of failure.

Almost everyone who quit in the wee hours of the morning last night vowed that they would never again attempt Skolas, and I'm pretty much about to hit that point as well. The challenge:reward ratio is just terrible. I already got an Elder Cypher on my Hunter. On my Titan the quest is broken/bugged and from Bungie's confused and befuddled tone I don't expect it to be fixed for at least a month. The quest isn't even in my Titan's quest log so I can't try to abandon it and get it again.

Beyond that, what reason is there to do Skolas? 1 Etheric Light? A random elemental primary? I already have 2 Arc primaries, 2 Void primaries, 2 Solar primaries. As cool as a Solar Hand Canon sounds there's really not much use for it.

At this point I'm totally fine with just getting 3 Etheric Light per week. After I get my Black Hammer and Hunger of Crota ascended I'm not really even sure what else really needs to be boosted anyhow. I guess a couple decent shotguns would be nice.

you will not shard it, they expanded the vault just for you!

think of the grinding if you wanted another suros...... ugh. just shard monte carlo instead, bungie hates that gun apparently.... I like it but wow what a red-headed stepchild of an "exclusive".

I agree that is a smart move and sound strategy.

Buuuuut I have outstanding guns from pre HoW that are feasible with great or decent rolls.

If I'm going to reroll a gun or test out a new theory, I might as well go for the gusto and not settle on a silver medal. Otherwise, I'll just end up with more vault space taken up by decent rolls instead of the perfect rolls being used in battle.

Do you really want to huuurt meeee, do you really want to maaaake me cryyyyy.

Awesome though, I'm totally jealous... you bastard.

As someone who got a Solar Jewel this week: you aren't missing anything. It's a PvP-only hand cannon so burn doesn't matter, I'd never use it over my VoC with that 9 mag and PvP centric perks. It's seriously nothing special, just the novelty of a solar HC. I've barely used it.

Elemental Messengers on the other hand are great for PvP and PvE with that extended mag (which the Jewel desperately needed). Solar and Void are especially nice since both raid Pulse Rifles are arc. A Void Scholar is also a very nice PvE primary.

I'm still in disbelief that I spent another four hours on Skolas last night for a total of about 13 throughout the week with nothing to show for it. I should have just kept doing IB... I didn't even get a single character to rank 5 (was close). It was too late when we called it quits.
I'm at work today with exactly 3 hours of sleep thanks to my failed 4 hour run last night. I was sorely tempted to call in sick to work today and just kept going, but my grown-ass man sensibilities got the better of me.

A real problem was how deeply inconsistent his behavior (and thus our attempts each run) became. Sometimes we took out barely a quarter of his health with him getting lucky teleports off and getting way too close to us, other times we burned him all the way down to the mine phase before the adds spawned. As a result of this, even though I'm sure we were making "progress" in total (improving), it felt a little more like any given attempt was a dice roll...

...At this point with the Burn rollover, against all my instincts I'm feeling pretty compelled to just get in there this week and blast his face off in a hellstorm of Gjallarhorns. I mean I still don't even have my first kill. It's a bit of a shame.
We had a lot of the same problems, one of which was Skolas standing right next to a mine we had to disable with no Hunter in our group. I really hope you don't have to experience the heartbreak of what we went through: killing Skolas but failing to get the rest of the mines because we didn't know any better that it was the REAL final boss.

Part of me never wants to attempt this again, and part of me wants to kill him just so I can get this time sink of a monkey off my back.

Added.

Everyone should note that if you're in Team 2 or the Alt list doesn't matter at all.

The Team 1 people play the same 6 people juuuuust about every week, unless one or two other people can't make it, then we fill in with people who have played with us a bunch, then go to the alt list if necessary.

But Team 2 is rarely the same group week to week, so I just fill in the Team 2 with whatever last week's team was, or grab the ich00 and the first 5 people on the Alt list. I also try to work LtWood12, his pal T-44, and schwagger15 into groups because they fill in for Team 1 frequently.

But yeah, don't feel like the Alt list is a "demotion", or the inverse. Don't be shy about raising your hand if you're on the "alt" list, people!

Don't do it man. I came so close to dismantling my 4th Horseman, my first ever random exotic strike drop, and Bungie eventually patched it to be not crap. AR's time will come (again.)

Well said. The Jewel is a fantastic weapon, but I can't see myself ever using it over another elemental primary. But for PvP w/ it's incredible aim assist I can't wait to try out the kinectic version I was able to get last night. I'm just happy to have one!

The Messenger continues to impress. Feel like I won the lottery getting a solar one on my first (of two ever) Mercury trips.

aww man, that sucks. I was at least hoping that I was the jinx of the group and my replacement got you some rewards.

I have a Gjallarhorn, I'll most likely have an ascended Black Hammer in a few days, might as well go for broke and get ONE measly completion.

Dude, I rolled a judgment, matador and party crasher all for shot package and kneepads, just to see which barely noticeable different gun I liked better. That was easily a few hundred weapon parts.

No regrets! I'm all about the min/max.

All of my PvE spears have each element, field scout, surplus and ambush scopes. Haha I can't help myself.

Well alright, that does make me feel a bit better haha, but I still can't help to want and add it to my collection. Plus it looks really cool too!

I love my VoC, and I tend to use for every solar burn, but having a solar HC would be awesome :D

It'll happen, it's the new Hawkmoon search for me :p
