I've been thinking the same thing. They could use it to expand the role of the Gunsmith - level up to lock a perk slot, run more Gunsmith missions/bounties to lock more.

Bungie could really go deep on this and tie progression to some cool gunplay skills.

Also, let's have a test/firing range with rewards for speed and accuracy.

I like this--this would be a really cool way to expand missions as well. The Gunsmith Bounties could be like the ones for the Exotic Weapon bounties. Like the 500 points one that you have to do for SGA.

I wonder if you can still hang out by the back rock head glitch spot and just shoot at Skolas with small arms? It seemed like you were fairly impervious to his rockets from there although you could get hit with some splash damage.

Adds will still rush you there--especially captains and those annoying dual invisible sword wielding a-holes.

But we accidentally found a semi "safe" thing to do by stacking a guardian on the lower plateau and one on the higher plateau on the rock when we experimented this past weekend. That turns it into the Omnigul closet scenario--the adds swipe and kill the one on the higher plateau, but somehow stands there to get shot at because it can't swipe down at the one standing on the lower plateau. Then just spam revive. Just make sure the guardian on the lower plateau is crouched, or splash damage will still kill him/her.

Not exactly... the Efrideet's Spear old roll is better than new one because you can get Field Scout (the new one not).

I thought you meant the new patch made it so old IB weapons wouldn't roll old perks. Yeah--any new IB weapons post-HoW only rolls new perks. But pre-HoW IB weapons can still roll the old perks.

Yep no more strength on Hunter, Warlock or Titan boots until the rest tomorrow at least.
