Yeah me too. Currently Messenger is my legendary primary, still hunting for Pilgrim. It's funny that I like using exotic HC but not legendaries for pvp and it's the other way around with pulse rifles.

As Datto already mentioned, that would make PVP an extreme clusterfuck that would be a colossal mess. Nobody wants that.

Nope. You either have to get lucky when Rahool is selling green engrams or wait till Trials, get 5 wins and buy/dismantle that weapon. Gunsmith weapons drop parts, but are of course prohibitively expensive.

I still do really well with auto rifles in pvp. Although Im finishing the bounty for bad juju so hopefully that's good. Worst case dismantle it and upgrade my Titan exotic chest that speeds up revive time.

The thing is, Time To Kill is about 2x that of top-tier PvP weapons. It takes a solid 0.9-1.06 seconds of perfect crits to kill with an AR. 1.2 for the former champion S U R O S R E G I M E. Funny how they nerfed it into the slowest killing primary out there. It's about 0.87 seconds for highest RoF ARs (like Necro) but it's really impossible to land 100% crits with those.

Compare this to high impact Pulse Rifles: 0.73 seconds of sustained crit (.67 for Red Death).

Or 0.53 seconds with The Last Word. 0.26 if you hip fire headshots. For reference, that's faster than any Machine Gun.

Hawkmoon is 0.86 in the worst of cases, 0.4 when its perk procs (a little over a third of the time.

Or our favorite: Thorn. It takes 0.36 seconds to land the double tap. Granted it takes a while longer for the DoT to kill, but after landing the second shot you can just blink away and you'll get the kill from a distance. This one doesn't depend on hip fire magic like TLW or lucky RNG like Hawkmoon. It's guaranteed.

Granted these numbers are theoretical, since they assume zero time lost aiming between shots and stuff, but it gives you an idea of just how much better the exotic HCs are compared to everything else out there.

I'd like to see them do some things to address the lack of weapon diversity, but I still don't think it's going to stop people from using whatever the "best" thing is.
