Do you need to play the crucifix to get purple items? Because I never play it and I've never seen a purple item yet I'm nearly level 22.

What's uppppp?

So I made this quick video to show you guys where I farm and how I FINALLY got some PURPLE STUFF!!!

Some of you probably know about this already but for those who don't try it out and let me know if you've had any success.

Also please be patient. Of course you can get lucky and get a purple or multiple ones in 20-30 minutes or so but it does take time to grind this out but it is very rewarding because not only do you get abunch of green/blue + chance of purple engrams.
But also you get so many that you can level up the cryptarch multiple times after maybe a 2-3 hour run depending.

Sp yeah I hope you like it and never go back to THE NEXUS haha j/k

Holy fucking shit. Trying it now.

Just got back from work.

Wow. I have a PvE bounty basically telling me to finish the damn story. Gotta kill the
Divisive Mind. I'm guessing that's the final boss.

Oh well. Guess I better start the Mars story.

It's "The Dark Beyond" on the moon.

If you want to attempt this please watch the whole video I explain how you can replay the mission even after "failing" quick without having to do the WHOLE mission all over again...with my method it starts you back at the gate and you only have to watch the cutscene again!

Ha!

i've got 37 hours logged in this game and have seen a total of 2 legendary engram drops.

i just buy my legendary shit bruh lol

I'm actually doing that now. I'm waiting either until a patch or until confirmation they aren't doing shit.

Depending on how tomorrow goes i'll either keep destiny on the shelf for future updates or get £35 for it in a trade shop in my town before the prices drop, had enough personally.

The game after 20 has been significantly less enjoyable for me than it was beforehand. Getting to 24 was kind of a pain, since a lot of the blue drops I got were duplicate armor slots or weapons, but it took about two days of solid playing to reach 24. I've barely reached 25 since then, thanks to the single legendary item I bought from faction reputation. I'll be able to get one more legendary today from Vanguard reputation, which hopefully will be enough to push me to 26 after some upgrades.

The raid is the thing I was most excited to try out in this game, but it seems unlikely now that I'll get to do it when it opens thanks to the terrible drop rates of legendary items. I have over 45 hours played, spent several hours every day playing crucible, ran dozens of strikes at 24, with not a single legendary drop to show for it. My Cryptarch is almost rank 9, I've given him probably 20 legendary engrams by now, again without a single legendary item received from them.

Meanwhile people with 1/5 the number of kills in a strike or the bottom of the PVP scoreboard get legendary items left and right it seems. I'm going to keep playing until the raid opens in the hope that my luck will change and I'll get a drop that gets me to 26 if the second reputation item doesn't. But if the raid opens and I'm still stuck at 25, I might be done with the game until they do something about the drop rates. Since I can't even earn marks anymore this week, it's just not worth my time to play with nothing to show for it.

I feel your pain dude. The frustration is starting to set in a bit. I'm stuck at level 24. I have 28 hours played and I literally have not even seen a legendary engram drop. Not a single one. And it seems the only way to luck out and get exotics is through the crucible. I'm 100% convinced there is 0.00% chance of getting anything legendary or exotic through strikes.

"“Beneath Venus, evil stirs.”

The Director is light on details for the Raid in Destiny. This is by design. The most elaborate mission ever created by Bungie is a mystery as much as it is a challenge – a puzzle and a gauntlet. The race to see who can be first to solve it - with their cunning and their skill - is about to begin.

At 2:00 AM Pacific on Tuesday, September 16th, the Raid will accept challengers in Destiny. That’s 9:00 AM GMT.

Become Legend.
Not everyone will qualify. Among those who do, not everyone will succeed. To even approach this trial of teamwork and combat, the Guardians in your Fireteam will need to be Level 26.

Gear up. Team up.
Bring with you a team that has made the commitment to work together. Configure your loadouts so that you are powerful together in a variety of ways. Communicate with each other. The Raid will demand that you operate as a team. Cooperation is the key to your success.

Follow the Leader.
It’s very likely that you will not finish the Raid in one sitting. Your Fireteam leader is crucial to your eventual potential success. Your progress will be saved for one week. To resume your mission where you left off, you’ll need to follow the same Fireteam leader back into battle.

Enjoy the View.
There are those among you who are certain that they will be first. They have accepted our dare with a pledge to broadcast their first attempt. If you’re not yet prepared to undertake this rite of passage, you’re welcome to watch as they venture into the hostile unknown."

Or sitting at 25 and getting legendary engrams for slots you actually need decode into other class items...And the only thing you can do is just wait for the weekly reset so you can just buy it from one of the vendors using marks.

I wish I hadn't hit a leveling wall at 22 so I could do this tomorrow :(

What is the purpose of doing higher level strikes? Is the loot better?

You get more vanguard rep and marks per run compared to lower level strikes. Also, I can't confirm, but it looks like the base level of blues you get goes up (at least in my experience so far). EG: Running a 20 will get you base level 16, 22 -> 18 etc. It's handy to level up your armor, but you will eventually hit a wall.

Lmao. The one time I do badly in a game, the top two players get the loot.

I was doing pretty well my second game, and then the game randomly craps out and throws a centipede error my way.

Last time I'm spending money on a Bungle product if they're sticking to this model.

Great, too bad I won't be able to do it because I'm not one of the lucky people who have received legendary items from random drops or engrams. Nice to be stuck at 25 because of the terrible loot system. I don't even think a second piece from a vendor will be enough to reach 26. Fantastic.

I did it on the moon strike. The easiest and shortest one in my opinion.

Yeah, moon strike on the lowest level (level 12 I believe). Took me about 10-12 minutes with my guardian at level 24. Also got the "complete a strike with no one on your team dying" achievement which was ultra rare at like barely 1% completion rate.

OK, I've tried this method but the Hive have stopped spawning so I barely got any Engrams. What did I do wrong?

Yeah, I'm not gonna be able to do this tomorrow. Maybe next weekend. I'm just trying to earn rep and marks so I can buy some Future War Clan armor since each piece starts with +18 light. Should get me to 25 and then to 26 at the least if I upgrade them.

Trying to do the level 22 weekly heroic strike with a friend, and having some trouble. I'm guessing we need to have arc damage weapons if we want to succeed? Also, we've been trying to 2 man it since it doesn't seem to support matchmaking.

I'm in the same boat as you. :[
Curse you, Bungie
