Destiny |OT33| Hey Luke, What's the Theme for King's Fall? (Unmarked Spoilers)

How many sprees you need to do? How long one spree has to be? Weapon limitations?

Give me all the details, I have to wait until next Wednesday to see for myself :(

From what I can see you need 7 Kill Sprees and 7 Crucible Precision Kill Sprees.

The 7 Kill Sprees don't mention the Crucible, so maybe they're possible to complete in PvE? If not, get a 5-kill streak 7 times and this bit should be completed. Maybe all these medals count for this part.

The 7 Crucible Precision Kill Sprees should be completed if you get 7 Bullseye medals (3 kills with headshots in a single life).

Do not confuse them with 7-kill sprees. They're 7 kill sprees.

3 headshots in a single life? Welp.... 7 times?! WELP.

I didn't think I'd ever get Thorn. And I did.
I didn't think I'd ever get The Chaperone. And I did.

But this.... this seems like it's finally too much.

Which tend to be limited to cosmetics and not actual optimal things for current content.

Lol that was some odd quoting, only the first one was mine. Anyway, gotta disagree on that specifically with stuff like the Darkmoon Fair, the trinkets provided by that were crucial to gearing for raids at one point. Plus none of the stuff provided by this weekly/monthly stuff is 'optimal' for content, besides maybe Spindle for Warpriest/ Golgoroth (But then again if you are gaze grabbing you won't need it anyway.) Stuff like Iron banner/ Trials is simply giving you a alternate/ way to get legendary gear for your characters, that for some people will just be a cosmetic choice that they will infuse other gear into because they want to look like a badass Knight.

7x 5 kill spree + 7x 3 headshots in life, doesn't sound that bad tbh and I say this as very mediocre PvP player :b Especially if there isn't some lame weapon restriction like "Hand Cannon only". If limited to HC's then shit gets tricky thanks to current state of HC's in PvP.

My hate is concentrated like a laser. Apologies if you get burned.

The issue I take with the argument isn't the limited time events, it's the lack of warning and only putting it in a one day window. I don't find it comparable with WoW because you usually have weeks of warning before it happens, and the events usually transpire for atleast a week(While smaller events last only a few days but you still know when they're happening thanks to the calendar).

That and because they're locking behind an exotic over a time gated quest. They can lock it behind a quest, but to lock it behind a timed gate that disappears way too quickly and appears without warning is well...it's stupid as fuck. Whether it's a weekly thing from now or a 'first wednesday of the month' sort of deal is yet to be seen.

If they had come out, I dunno yesterday or even last week and said 'Be around on Wednesday, somethings happening' I'd be fine with it. But without warning and saying 'Uh well you have today to do it until we decide to put it again' is stupid.

For those doing the new quest that unlocked today and were playing during HOW, if you still have weapon cores you can buy the heavy machine gun for 1 weapon core and dismantle it for the quest.

Do it right in front of Variks so you can rub his face in how useless he is.

Just did my exotic core thingy mission: it was not that bad, I think I even enjoyed going back to chasing those public events... I was lucky to get a warsat on Mars relatively quickly, though. ^^
So, when you hand it to Banshee he says that it wouldn't fit in the DAVLIN relics we brought him back, so I suppose we have at least one other quest waiting for us in order to retrieve a frame for the weapon...

Yeah I agree with the disdain for how the First Firewall was unlocked, I like the concept of this hidden stuff the execution just need to be a bit better. The Spindle event on the other hand is cool as there were signs about how it worked (from the Runestone) and it seems to appear frequently enough. But yeah the flick a switch and 'oh look a new mission' is very shitty.

Like I would have had no problem with it if the DVALIN rifles didn't drop before the event started and were something that only started to drop for the day of the event. If you got lucky enough to get all 4 then you could do the quest this week, if not you keep the ones you have and wait until next Wednseday (if that's how often it will appear) to get the others.

Ok, I think I really screwed up the last sword quest. I have already completed the solar exotic on my titan. I got the void and arc legendaries on my other two characters. I started the exotic quest on my warlock with the void one then moved the arc sword over to the warlock in hopes that I could only have to do the 25 crucible kills once more. I leveled both swords to over 280 (with the Warlock) then received the exotic quest but only for the void sword. I even did the crucible kills and turned that in to Shaxx holding both swords but he will not give me an exotic quest for the arc sword. Unfortunately, I am not getting an exotic quest on my hunter either.

So, is there any way to get the exotic arc sword other than deleting my hunter and starting all over?

We don't know the future cadence, but I'm loving this slow drip of events and hidden missions that people are discovering, and I hope it continues. I wasn't able to do the Black thingy either time it came around, but it's fun not knowing what each new day brings or when new stuff will be found. Personally I'll gladly trade the fun/excitement of seeing this stuff unfold over the convenience of knowing when to be around.

Dude... it took me about 15 public events on Mars until I finally had a Warsat drop into the Buried City. Target, Target, Target, Target, Target, Target, etc, etc.
I heard that was happening to folks. I just got lucky. Fastest warsat ever because of all the Guardians waiting.

Like, it'd be cool if they just warned you that something may happen, to keep an eye out. Not spoil the whole thing but just come out and say 'Hey you might wanna turn on Destiny today!'. Keep that mystery without spoiling the surprise, but also giving a heads up. If this was a weeklong event, without a warning I'd be fine with it, because atleast you have some time. Springing it up on you and saying you only have one day to do it? Ehhh screw that noise.

Where does it show the progress out of 5 things for the ikelos fusion core? I dismantled a heavy legendary and showed I got some plug in the pop-up but I don't see the plug anywhere...

Hah!
Hope they won't pull the switch for this when I'm away for our annual trip at work, like Capcom just did for the second beta phase of SF5... -___-

It seems likely that the trigger is just Armsday since Gunbot makes reference to talking to the foundries about it, something that all the other Armsday related quest waits mention. So as long as you are around in a weeks time it should be fine.

Click details on the core in your inventory, there you'll see 5 nodes you have to 'fill in' by pressing X after you get the required part.

Please, I've played WoW for years. The loot drip in WoW is alot slower than it is in Destiny, and there are more things you can earn than just gear and guns and much more you can do , much much much more than Destiny.

Then I stand corrected on your MMO experience. I'm not sure how crafting, fishing, and an AH make the core gameplay goals different. And I'm still at a loss as to how you feel the gameplay goals in Destiny are more similar to Diablo. I thought that misconception was laid to rest when Bungie fixed the loot cave and stated that wasn't the intended way to gear up.

Pretty sure it was hurt in reviews because of it.

Which is a big difference than being blasted by the playerbase for it constantly. For over a year.

Auto Rifles got nerfed and Suros was useless for TDB and HoW. IceBreaker was used for the ammo glitch in TDB. Vision of Confluence was one of the very few automatic Scout Rifles until HoW, and Fatebringer was the strongest handcannon in the game. Edge cases really, not suitable as examples.

I'm not sure how a grouping varied across weapon types and weapon tiers equates to "edge cases." At this point it feels like you're disagreeing simply to disagree. VoC and Fatebringer's strengths were due to multiple factors, including being Elemental Primaries. Suros itself wasn't changed, the entire weapon class was. Ice Breaker was still extremely strong and useful throughout the entire first year.

Weapons being made entirely useless by the next expansion has only happened once in Destiny and that's with the release of TTK. However that also involved an entire reworking of a lot of the core systems in the game. Weapons balance and Light Levels were redone entirely. But the basic tenant of gearing up for the next section remains. You can still gear up by running Vanguard Strikes then Heroic Vanguard Strikes or CoO and then the Raid. And people who are 310 light will be better prepared for the Heroic King's Fall Raid. That gear will leave them better prepared for the next content, etc.. etc..
