Destiny |OT35| Time to Explain At Last

Yeah, PoE was boring and tedious with its loot rewards being piss poor aside from Etheric Light, but VoG and CE were relevant back then and I had more fun doing those than KF, simply because the loot chase was far, far more satisfying.

After I got everything I needed for VoG I still did VoG because it was fun. I don't even have what I "need" from King's Fall yet I don't even want to run it ever again.

I really think the only thing missing from the current system is an item that drops that has the sole purpose of being infusion fodder.

Like, imagine if HM Oryx dropped an item that boosted the ATK/DEF of an item by 2-3 up to 320 max.

So you didn't need to worry about getting the perfect roll of an item that drops at random already. You can just use these to boost what you already have, and it's your choice what items to boost

I'm kinda worried about the state of the content pipeline. We're only like a month after the biggest expansion ever, and I'm pretty much out of content. I only play with one character, and only for 3-4 hours a week. Don't tell me to play Crucible, because that's hella boring.

MORE QUESTS BUNGIE! GIVE US EUROPEAN DEAD ZONE!

Calling it right now. EDZ, Eurpoa, and Mercury will all be playable destinations in Destiny 2.

need more Strikes. I want more Strikes like Shield Bros. it's the only strike I enjoy now. more double team bosses in an open arena.

ShieeeeldBros and Sunless Cell are the best ones, imo. They're fun every time.

Undying mind is the worst.

Based on Halo 1 and 3, they obviously know how to design an awesome vehicle escape sequence. Give it to us, Bungie.

I'll never forget that old ass rumor before Dark Below that talked about new subclasses, but also mentioned a new Hive Raid that involved an escape sequence from a giant ogre.

c'mon man. learn from it.

sit back and use the heavy as bait while killing enemies approaching.

best case scenario is you get kills + heavy, worst case scenario is you get kills.

I was which made it more annoying. Next match was more annoying since I shot a group with 2 shots and only got 1 kill and the others some how survived whilst being tethered. Oh well 7 more kills then down.

Give me a raid boss like that.

Give me raid bosses with the freedom to move around in an open area.

yea, all the strikes with shitty bosses made you get stuck in a small area with too many adds. so you're not really enjoying the mechanics of the boss itself but trying to control the infinite adds instead and it's just tedious. older strikes and PoE suffered a lot from that.

Put Etheric light back in the game. Bring any Year one legendary up to 280. Then still need to run raid to infuse that stuff up.

Boom problem solved.

Round 5 of Skolas still gives me shudders

I'd be surprised if Bungie ever brings back y1 stuff. They want those perks (heavy ammo) gone and they want the primary elementals gone.

I hold zero hope of the raid loot drops ever being addressed or changed.

I think they're going to have to address literally nothing being a possible drop for HM.

I think I'm officially done ordering packages from the gunsmith. I've bought everything I've wanted from the tower. I'm constantly swimming in legendary marks and to this day I only really like one gun from the packages(Eirene).
I'd rather have the gun space.

The gunsmith weapons are my favorites in the game. If he doesn't have a roll you like that particular week, just save it for next week.

PoE was/is boring. How could HoW end game be better?

Pretty sure he meant end-game progression system, not the content itself.

Yes this. Though, POE 28 was rather entertaining for just mindlessly killing aliens.

HoW didn't have a raid and Skolas had a terrible drop rate..

Unless you're just referring to the guaranteed etheric light (didn't like that) and armor core?

Guaranteed armor core was a decent system.

The reward systems were excellent and everyone could get to the cap via PVP or PVE. Instead of chasing the level cap, people were chasing guns. That's what Destiny should be.

Secondly, what is there not to like about etheric light? It literally made everything relevant without needless grinding. In fact, etheric light was perfect and I am sad it's gone.

In Year 1, I got my Etheric Lights and reached the maximum Light level and then proceeded to do all the content as much as possible in order to chase the best loot in the game. Loot like Fatebringer, Vision of Confluence, Gjallarhorn, Found Verdict etcetera etcetera. It took me a few months but along the way I was getting strong, meaningful loot bit by bit.

In Year 2, so far, I'm chasing the Light level cap instead of strong meaningful loot. Pretty much the opposite of last year, no?

I love how everyone was causing such a storm about year 1 weapons becoming worthless, and I'm just over here with my Messenger and Matador... Having a grand old time.

I mean, sure I can't use them in IB and Trials, but I play enough Crucible that this doesn't matter.

Are there any plans for DLC after TTK ?

Nothing has been announced yet.

Hey man, sorry about not passing you that totem checkpoint yesterday, wife came home a bit earlier than expected so I had to help her out.

I have it saved for next week though, so if you need I can pass it at any point between now-tues

I prefer infusing over etheric light, but it basically only worked up to 310 where you had the chance of getting gear to get you there outside of the Raid. (exotics)

310 to 320 is where it is broken. I cleared the hard raid twice and I´m still sitting at 308 - exactly where I started.

Regular ass purple engrams must have the chance to drop at 310. Exotics must have the chance to drop at 320. NF rewards need to go up to 320.

No worries, I grabbed it off iRawr instead. :)

Ehhhh blind raiding is different. That's the one place I think maximum serious mode is both appropriate and necessary. For some people like me that's fun, for lots of people it's not which is totally cool. Just have to make sure everyone has the same expectations going into those activities.

For reset raids it's all about joking and having a good time, without actually wasting a bunch of time. Z has to get to work, Jigga and Stabie have to sleep (or play Xbox), etc. Dont freak out if someone starts Totems, just grab the brand and get it going.

No I agree, I meant since it was a blind raid I was expecting we would explore the new areas and try to see what we could find, not just be in a rush to get through one encounter and move on to the next one. Though we were trying to be the first ones on GAF to clear it.. (and we did) ;)

Messenger is so good. If Crucible loot wasn't so broken maybe I'd get a Spare Change 2.0 to drop some day, one with Counterbalance and stability boost seems like our only hope. Also been having fun w Praedyth's Timepiece, speaking of outdated PvP gear.

Mostly I force myself to use current gear as Trials prep but it's still fun to bust out old favorites.

If anyone has a Golgoroth hm checkpoint or is doing Golgoroth and the sisters, let me know. I need to do Golgoroth and the sisters and I lost the cp.

Bungie´s fear of us losing interest once we reach 320 is apparent, but wrong.

There is soooo much gear in this game. So many armor sets I want to infuse to 320.

The fact that I´m still working on a full raid kit (Normal OR hard) is stupid.

My endgame is having the full IB gear at 320.

Should take 10 years if they don´t change something here.

Exactly, chasing the light level cap isn't fun. Loot should be the star of the show.

Some people want to min/max, collect everything, and try out all sorts of different gear.

Other people just want to get to max level and get the best weapons, and then peace out.

I don't understand the second group. Playing is more fun than getting, but I definitely know a bunch of people like that.

EDIT: Fake top of page. You know who you are!!!

i read they nerfed the Messenger's impact :(

Sure did. New Messenger will be lower impact class PR. Only two Year 2 pulses in its top impact class are Lyudmila (4 burst increases TTK slightly) and Spare Change (only available as Crucible drop).

Sadly both these new PRs have jacked up horizontal recoil so Counter Balance is a must imo, whereas Messenger was beastly out of the box.

4 manning Atheon last night, holding the relic and watching T, Puma, & the other dude burn him down in a single Time's Vengeance was simultaneously hilarious, and also really sad to me.

Good times were had by all...except Atheon. I used my Sleeper.

ok cool. still viable. enjoying the Nirwen more tho.

I assume you're talking about the Year 1 version? Cause I believe that's unchanged, but the new Messenger that will drop in year 2 trials is a lower impact class.

How would we feel if the Raid Gear drops Light Level weren't RNG. Would we still be playing KF?

I mean, what's the alternative you're referencing? They track what you have and make sure not to give you too much goodness?

Because it just meant that FB, Black Hammer, and Gjallarhorn (although not needing etheric light, was the same idea) would be the most popular load outs.

I don't want to keep using the same weapons year 1 to year 10.

I want new toys to use and desire. But Fatebringer is almost impossible to top.

The reason Bungie does loot this way and the better solution are both obvious.

The current system is in place (the double RNG, lack of guaranteed drops) to drag shit out. If there were guaranteed drops on every boss, and if those drops were guaranteed to be 315 and above, then people would be finished with HM raid very quickly and people would leave the game because there is, literally, nothing else to do besides PvP (which most don't like for various reasons). There are very few actual drops in the raid - only one helmet, one arm, one chest, one legs, etc. It's silly.

The better solution is really to provide guaranteed drops and just increase the number of possible drops. This should be new weapons, different perks (that actually make a difference - there are way too many useless perks), different styles, etc. The number of usable guns in this game is criminally low. There also should be unique ships and shaders from each boss. Look at how many people farm the strikes for strike-specific loot. Why on earth would bungie not do that for the raid? And why don't gear have set bonuses? I mean, come on Bungie, plz fix the loot.
I agree 100%. Our regular group has already lost one person simply because they've been left behind and it could take 10 raids for them to catch up without feeling like an anchor. I'm right there myself. I didn't raid at all when HM dropped and now I'm low enough to where I actually don't want to bother raiding with folks because it'll just drag them down. Add in the fact I have terrible luck anyways so I will likely barely make any progression if and when I do actually raid without making a full-time job again which I'm not interested in doing.

Normal mode should drop guaranteed 310 items and hard mode should drop guaranteed 320. Get rid of this ranged bullshit. Imo, the only thing you should be "chasing" if you really want to are cosmetic items in the raid. A cool ship that drops from the Warpriest 5% of the time, or an emblem that can randomly drop from Oryx, or like you said, maybe a gun with different perks than one you already have. Oryx should have guaranteed primary drops. Warpriest guaranteed heavies or special, etc.

We're planning on raiding tonight and I'm 90% certain I'll either make 0 progress or MAYBE jump 1 light level. I have 0 interest in running it again on either of my alts which is unheard of for me (someone who traditionally runs everything, every week, 3 times).

I fear this raid challenge mode is going to double down and require that you have to run HM raid into the ground to get to a level needed to finish those off. This double RNG shit combined with 0 drops being a thing was a very poor decision on their part. Hopefully another "nasty bug" but either way I'm not planning on playing anymore than I currently am (which is very little at this point) until it's addressed.
