Yeah I felt so awful at the time, I know many players reached out to the kid, and offered to help him build new characters, but I don't know what happened beyond that.

Im in my late 30's man, but it really made me upset that someone would hurt a young kid like that for shits and giggles. When I run into "squeakers," as long as they are not annoying, I try to help them as much as possible.

Reddit took care of the kid. IIRC he got people to grind NFs and Raids and IB etc with him for weeks until he had tons of good stuff.

Still, Kermit is gonna go down as a WishyouLuck-tier asshole in this game's history.

I don't know much about WYL, how come everyone despises him so much? Is he just a jerk on his streams or is it something bigger that he did?

Guys is crucible the fastest way to level up? Im a level 23 titan and i think i have ran out of story missions to do unless i replay them. I am pretty green in this game so yeah....

Poor Krafty is having a rough time today. Had to get his friend to help carry and they've still had to reset their first card twice already. Oof, this map.

Yeah Crucible is a good way, gives good XP whether win or lose. You don't get XP for replaying the story missions. Grab some Crucible bounties as well, although they don't give tons of XP so don't sweat it if you can't finish them all.

....yikes. That's an old video (he's rocking Suros and Found Verdict after all) and I feel like he's gotten a little more mature since then, but wow that's awful. Not much lower than talking shit about other streamers' family.

This isn't the 360 era anymore, they can replace as much as they want to under the same title ID.

The Taken King made that pretty clear. Destiny 1.x was consolidated and lives in the UI along with Destiny 2.x.

What do you mean?

Do you believe that at E3 they are going to go; "this update to destiny is Destiny 2"? < If so that would give me confidence that Destiny will be a big highly supported title for a long time. I feel that some of my personal attraction towads the title is based in that know it is very popular and played by millions of people daily. So the idea of be jumping into it seems really.. desirable. As long as there is not an actual separate game being made.

I gave up on being invested in Titanfall because the devs had said that they were working in a TF2 right away. I mean- If the community is going to be segregated anyway, why even bother? If the point is to be invested in your community and (in this case) your character, you wont be told to move over to a new game and start all over, where you end with 10 different fractured online communities like with COD. Each part of the community having their favorite online game, and this sense there is little camaraderie or consolidated community that people can rally behind! It killed my desire to engage in CODs multiplayer.

People talk about a Destiny 2, but also that Destiny 1 was designed for a 10 year plan!?
Is there any chance that Destiny 2, is actually a update to Destiny? ( 2.0) so to speak. Do they really want to make a new game and abandon the current Destiny in the grass?

I'm asking, because if I buy a console later this year (a PS4 Neo, most likely if it turns out good) would there even be a incentive to get into Destiny at that point if a sequel is going to come out that kills off the community of Destiny 1?

Destiny 2 wont be a new game. Knowing Bungie and their penchant for recycling, Destiny 2 will probably include a new zone, maybe a new raid, and a bunch of reskinned assets made to look new.

There's so much potential in a Destiny 2. In my mind, it's a certainty that current gen platforms only are being supported. Goodbye to the 360 and PS3.

Opportunities abound. I'd like to see the whole world as we know it now make it into this version, perhaps with some big changes in them that were caused by endless battle. Perhaps some win and loss by the Guardians. Established outposts on some planets, and more established strongholds in places by the enemies. As it is right now none of the enemies seem to have an actual 'home' - they just come from 'nowhere' when we fight them. Where are their bases? Cabal on the Mars is the closest thing I have seen to that, and the Dreadnaught is just a ship. Let's see the various enemies win some ground that we might have to take back.

It would be great to see events that set the story forward. Epic battles that change the landscape forever. That's pretty ambitious, but it would be amazing. One week there is a mission, a battle mission, and once 'done' (whether you participated or not) it left something behind that can potentially be used in the game. A crashed mothership that can be scavenged for parts to build a new sparrow, perhaps.

We've managed to reclaim a city or two on earth - Old Chicago perhaps. We've established a base of operations there, and maybe even homes for guardians.

Something with the Traveller. Advance the story in a meaningful way. Bring back the Queen and her brother.

True transmog. New raid(s), upgrading of older raids. A new planet.

Who knows? I can't wait to see what they come up with.

Made a fairly significant change for me when I was 322ish. It didn't 3 headshot kill people with my hawksaw as it does now
Hey man thanks to you and Igor for the runs earlier. I learned a ton even tho I felt somehwat limited by my Warlock.

And thanks for the advice on the special engrams. Bought one and got a 1KYS with Triple Tap, Quick Draw, Casket Mag and Hidden Hand. O_O

Only drawback was the scopes. Atleast it has Ambush for pve tho.

Yeesh, that is really bad, I mean I know goth and broman aren't very well liked by some people, but you shouldn't talk crap about them, especially their family, it's just wrong. Oh well, never watched his stream before and I don't plan on watching anytime soon after seeing that.

I thought he was a scumbag, especially for insulting Deej on stream. However, I randomly watched his stream when the weapon balancing for the April update was announced and it's like he's a different person. He's more chill and incredibly knowledgeable on crucible. He does a good job of answering questions on chat as well. Might not be for everyone, but he's worth checking out if you want to see good PvP.

Edit: also thanks to Boguester and Igor for running with Xplicit of course!

Edit2: Is that VoC reborn? Great roll on that scout!

What do you mean?

What I mean is that this isn't like the last generation where game updates were diff patches to the base DVD the game shipped out with. Bungie can literally put out anything as Destiny, that your console would then download and update with. You could wake up and Destiny could be Sega Big Rig Racing, if they really wanted to. And Taken King straight up replaced the client. It wasn't a patch, it was a new "game".

This has been made pretty clear with the fact they even backported the One/PS4 patching style to the 360/PS3 versions - they actually had Taken King delete all existing Destiny patches (because the 360/PS3 had a weird combo patch/DLC pack update system) and then you download the entirety of Taken King as a 'patch'. They just straight up replaced the client even on last gen. The Destiny disc data is, for all purposes, not even used anymore. It's just a round-shaped key for you to play the digital client of Destiny.

They also very early on went "hmm, we'll see what we can do with patching", and then near HoW they started doing UX and SFX updates in each patch, which were originally out of scope.. meaning they decided to start updating the game in place.

Do you believe that at E3 they are going to go; "this update to destiny is Destiny 2"? < If so that would give me confidence that Destiny will be a big highly supported title for a long time. I don't think anything is going to be named Destiny 2. For one, that's a drab name. But I expect whatever the Major Update(tm) is to replace the existing Destiny client. The discs will likely refresh to having whatever that Major Update is (Taken King's discs are just vanilla Destiny discs for the reasons above)

also fun fact.. in multiple interviews they refer to Taken King as "Destiny 2" and Vanilla+DB+HoW as "Destiny 1". And the client reflects this with the 2.x version number. Whatever comes next will probably actually be 3.x

I think Bungie will avoid splitting the base by just adopting the WoW model, as stated above, where everyone gets QOL updates but you have to pay play the latest expansion content. It should also be noted that -so far-, every crucible map from the previous expansion has been made free to the entire playerbase when the next one releases, so they've kept Crucible pretty unified as it is. This is 100% speculation, but I have no doubts that they will eventually fold previous expansions into the base game for free like WoW did. Like, last I checked, on WoW you can't even buy Pandaria anymore separately, it's now part of the base "box level" of the game. I expect House of Wolves and Dark Below to eventually be the same way a year or two from now, then Taken King, etc, knowing what Bungie wanted to do with all Halo games previously, and so far they've been able to get that wish with the Crucible maps. (it takes a while for MMO style games to start doing box level squishes)

I guess the tl;dr is there is no ill effect from continuing to update the game in place because it does not hold back anything at all.

But it still leaves interesting questions of how long (and to what extent) they want to support various platforms.

It doesn't matter, Microsoft and Sony are going to shut down last gen certification soon(in dev timescales) anyway. You won't be able to new games OR patches... I already hinted at the spindown before and guess what, MS announced they were stopping production of the 360.

So even if Bungie wanted to continue updating Destiny on last gen (for some reason).. they wouldn't even be able to do it.

No problem man! That's what it's about, learning and improving all while having fun. Getting experience is key and we'll definitely try again when you're available. Also, even if next time you've already completed the bounties for your Titan, it's always best to run with your most comfortable class. Definitely use him next time regardless :p

Haha you're welcome. Glad we got you some sweet loot (I think you went up 3 or 4 light), elimination + Mercury grimoire, and Cat emblem!

Still hurts but still a good time overall and I'm glad Axo felt better about this run.

Axo, hopefully you're not sweating it too much. We'll get it for sure soon!

So, I just turned in my 5th Shaxx Weekly since the April Update, and I've gotta say, the rewards have been... well...

  1. 20 Strange Coins
  2. 20 Strange Coins
  3. 17 Strange Coins (?????)
  4. 20 Strange Coins
  5. 20 Strange Coins

yeah... still needs some work there, Bungie.

Would have gone up 5LL if it wasn't for the 320 ghost:D Definitely some sweet, sweet loot!

Got to end on something of a high note at least. Did that run with two of Eric's friends and went flawless in 35 minutes, lol. Think we lost three rounds total, played almost all scrubs. Would've been nice to have more teams like that on Axo's run.

My uncharted isn't here yet :( Looks like I'll play some destiny when I get home.

Expecting either undying mind or shield brothers this week.
And specialist + juggler + precision kills for the challenge.
