I'm at 361 with a 355 artifact... Accidentally decrypted a purple with Rahool. But it rolled out to a 361 artifact. RNG, praise me.

And Gothalion and crew are in the lead again. I know people like to shit on him but he has a good team.

Tfue finished first
Giggle team finished second

Goth team sounds super salty and hasn't finished yet.

I don't think Bungie expected people to be 375-380 light already.

They designed the system that allowed it. If they didn't expect the hardcore to exploit their system then that's quite silly...

Yes Goth is raging hard lol.

I really hate this culture that Bungie is creating.

This rush to the finish, rush to get light, rush through content, etc. It is disgusting IMO.

The raid should have released next Friday and given everyone a relaxing time to enjoy all the non-raid content and more. It really needs to stop.

They make all these decryption walls and drop walls on purpose to stop people but then in their weekly update it's all RUSH RUSH WHO WILL BE FIRST RUSHHHH.

It needs to stop.

So the light level requirement for the raid in the director is 370?

I thought it was said it would be 360 for a week or so now? What changed?
Yep, 370. Don't think Bungie themselves ever said anything about it, and I don't think they've ever said anything about the requirements for a raid.

On another note, is Goth raging because he didn't finish first? lmao what a baby, he should be happy that he's high enough to even play the raid. I'm only 341 lol.

Yeah it's

I'd like to see them do it like Blizzard. Wait atleast a few weeks before releasing the normal/heroic modes of it. The raids are lengthy that it takes time progressing through them(Depending on how good your group is.) Then the week after releasing the REAL hard mode.

Gives players to enjoy the content, and not really rush for the raid.

I know right!??

The worst part is that most passive aggressive responses will be "just enjoy the game for yourself, don't rush, the raid will be there" etc.

The developer themselves are fostering this culture, so don't act like Bungie agrees with responses like that.

I was watching them from
zamboni to end boss
but they were doing some stuff that didnt even make sense....every raid boss since VoG has a mechanic to enter DPS phase yet some people on their team try to
gally everything and use cannons on the bosses like its skolas with solar burn.
That way of thinking boggles my mind.

I don't think there's anything more pleasing to me than watching the overly hardcore be salty.

Someone tweet him this:

To keep it simple, please spoiler tag raid details for a week. IIRC that's the standard we've used in the past, but if it was longer someone please correct me.

Just as a courtesy to those not blasting through the content.

How was the raid, BTW? I watched a few minutes of one section on a stream before I had to go back to work and it looked great, fun setting atop the wall.

Bromans in there too, so hopefully I get double rage.

Eh, Destiny is also a different scale. Legion for example, there's over 300 quests to do while levelling, and then end game content you have like 7 dungeons with various difficulties, as well as the Class hall quests and world quests.

Destiny wouldn't be able to do that, not in a reasonable time to release atleast. But for games iwth raids, that's kinda...that stuff goes together? idk.

Well if you don't want to do it then your don't have to. It's just for people who want to do it. Nothing wrong with doing your first raid next week.

Seriously though the grind to get above 365 is ridiculous. I mean I will probably be OK because I have a lot of materials etc.

But if you haven't been playing for a long time, then the grind to get to 375 or w/e and beat the raid looks fairly impossible to do in three days.

Let's say you were starting with a 335 LL player and you had no motes of light, no strange coins, no weapons parts, and 100 heavy synth. Then your basically locked out of finishing the raid this week IMO.

While I really enjoyed the stringent mechanics of VoG and King's Fall I think a shorter, more action oriented raid is better for the community. I was shocked at how many guys I helped get their MoT last week that said they gave up on raids because they took too long or were too difficult. Maybe Bungie can find a way to balance the normal and hard modes so that the HM can be more fulfilling to hardcore raiders while NM gives others a path to max light without all of the frustrations.

For new page:

From the FAQ:

Spoiler Etiquette

What is a spoiler?
A spoiler is anything which can hinder a person's enjoyment of something by telling them something they might not have known beforehand. This is not limited to story elements but can also cover surprising gameplay developments/changes in the course of a game or surprises in terms of secrets and unlockables. The threshold each individual person has for spoilers on a range of subjects will vary greatly.

When not to use spoilers
If a thread is specifically marked as post-game discussion, and spoilers are warned about in the title, there is no need to use spoiler tags regarding that topic inside the thread. There is no point having an entire thread filled with black bars if everyone is on the same page regarding what is expected in the thread. The same applies for threads about the sequels of existing games. If you have not played the previous game(s) in the series, it is probably not a good idea to wander into a thread about the latest game, especially if it is a direct sequel to a story-driven game.

Avoid putting spoilers in thread titles
If you are making a thread, consider for a moment that some people might want to avoid knowing certain things about a game/movie/TV show/whatever. As such, being a little more vague is better than being inconsiderate.

Mark spoilers appropriately
When posting spoilers about anything, always mark it properly. Using a spoiler tag alone is often not the best way because no one will know what you have hidden behind the tag without reading it first. Using proper marking can make it very helpful for others to know if they want to highlight the spoiler tag or not. Mixing spoiler tags with regular text in a single sentence is also often a bad idea when dealing with a story spoiler, especially if it makes it obvious.

The following is an example of what is good and bad spoiler usage:

Correct spoiler marking strategies.
This is a spoiler for the 4th boss fight in Zelda
I can't believe the part when the boss breaks out a deck of cards and starts playing poker with himself!

Incorret spoiler marking strategies.
I can't believe
link
dies at the end of the boss fight against
megaman
or
Dude, I can't believe link just died

IF YOU HAVE POSTED SPOILERS, please go back and spoiler tag them.

I have been wanting this out of the raids since the very first day.

But MMO raids are also 1000x more gear reliant. You. Will. Get. Gear Checks. And you will not pass them in the first week or even the first fucking month some times.

People whine and moan that they are just barely under level in these raids. This is nothing compared to big boy MMO raids. It's a completely different paradigm and I don't think Bungie is willing to go to that step.

I think a different solution they could take is at least another raid. Basically how actual wow/14 raids work. You get a new one every couple months and you get slow steady progression between the raids. Bungie definitely doesn't have the infrastructure to accommodate that pipeline at the moment but we might see a completely different style with destiny 2. At least I would hope.

Yep. I thought they were heading in that direction when they started adding resistances to armor. Then the King's Fall raid hard mode came out and it didn't matter whether you were wearing armor resistance to anything. Really disappointing. There's room in this game for a normal mode raid and a REALLY hard mode raid, the kind that takes weeks to get ready for. They need to give us a carrot that's really hard to reach. We'll bitch and moan about it, but we'll play and play to get there and when we beat it, we'll say Destiny (2?) is the one of the best games we've ever played. Enough of these snowflake raids.

That said, I don't want the pot farming and timing BS of the WoW Naxxaramus days. There's a limit definitely on how frustrating you can make a raid.

didnt tag it because it's plainly marked. These are weapons for the raid if you're curious
THIS IS A SPOILER

Thanks~

OH MAN GOTH JUST WIPED AT 1%

I ran into this

Ursoc in the new raid, Heroic+, is gear check. It's basically a Patchwerk. 5 minute enrage timer, and unfortunately I was fucking up my rotation and my gear was so so(846ish) so we had to cut down the raid, including myself.

I'd love to see Destiny do that. Have a boss that just has a massive amount of HP, and is really gear dependent.
