3% is far too generousWhine and Cheese is a great title, but I'm sure we'll get something random that makes sense to only 3% of the playerbase.
damn I picked the wrong oneI made a poll to vote on the OT8 title: http://strawpoll.me/2786875

You're kidding yourself if you think even half of the people went through the full raid.
Most are getting Atheon hard checkpoint and cheesing him while skipping the hardest part.
gotcha. I wouldn't be surprised if that occurs. There was certainly no need to nerf it for PvE that I'm aware of.
Haven't seen Hammer so I can't comment. Thunderlord is nice but I prefer ZA for sure, and I probably wouldn't waste my exotic on a heavy when playing PvP.
Roll the dice better, friend.
I dunno, I still like Snowblind's title.

It's so bad it's great!
If you wouldn't mind (I understand if it winds up being too personal or anything), and assuming you really mean that, could you elaborate on this? I don't think there's any concept in gaming that I'm more unable to relate to.I hate this game yet still feel the need to try and progress.
I hadn't considered that route, thanks! My aim is to start farming events when I'm not doing "real" work like dailies/weeklies/raids, so hopefully I'll have a good stock of marks ready to spend in the coming weeks.
Pulse rifles are the one gun type in this game I just cannot wrap my brain around. I have no idea what their intended role is or why you would ever, ever choose one over scout or auto. That said, the Stranger's Rifle seems bizarrely effective in PvP IMO. Every once in a while I run into someone in Rumble that winds up near the top of the leaderboard using it.hand cannon
I've actually heard good things about Bad Seed Down too, and been owned enough times to notice by Strange Suspect. But again, I just don't get the weapon class and its intended role.

re: Thorn
It needs some sort of a buff for PvE, certainly, but I'm actually getting sliiightly worried about any buff's effect on PvP. It might become a new FOTM op gun like Vision of Confluence is right now. Actually I wouldn't be that mad about it though, it'd be hilarious. Flashbacks of "lol abandon the bounty", "dismantle that gun it's junk", "worst exotic" etc.
Even having spent barely any time with it personally so far I can say with certainty that it's a very, very good weapon in the right hands. First off it's a hand cannon. So if you're expecting anything like the amount of "here have a headshot" like you get with auto rifles, snipers or even scout rifles, it's not gonna happen. Hand cannons reward good aim and punish a lack of it.
Past that generic point, it's an unremarkable and even poor hand cannon... until you unlock its unique upgrade. At which point it is unlike any other gun in the game, and certainly worthy of crafting a build around. I keep thinking about this comment from last night
Oh.. it's not inherently better, and in many ways it's inherently worse. But what it is most of all is different than any other hand cannon of legendary or better quality. There is no reduplicating or comparing its innate DoT effect to any other gun, which makes it quite the unique beast, and not one to be written off.
The magazine is tiny, but that's an unavoidable downside. The reload speed, on the other hand, is deeply counterable, and doing so will be key to any devastatingly effective Thorn build, of which there can be many. So far as I know, there are three potential class-based builds that leverage a specific skill to counter the slow default reload of Thorn:
Chain of Woe (Gunslinger) - Precision kills boost reload speed, stacks up to 3 times in intensity
War Machine (Defender) - While Force Barrier is active, boost reload speed (this is the best reload speed skill in the game)
Surge (Voidwalker) - After Energy Drain, all weapon handling and movement is boosted
Outside of these builds which are dependent on subclass, you can leverage gear mods on just about any class to make a viable build out of it. Those of you who saw my Thornveil build (4th one down in this guidepost) note that it doesn't rely on any Sunsinger skills to help Thorn's reload, but instead calls for a specific pair of Legendary gauntlets, and then maxes out on every kind of DoT imaginable insteadgod i seeeeeriously bet this would be a fun one to play
Ionized polymer synballistic attack platform. The system's lethality is dynamically robust across tactical spaces.
As the City's understanding of Golden Age methods expands, foundries continue to push the cutting edge of tactical armament. The Hard Light prototype is a showcase, built with the rarest recovered materials and the most computationally demanding design methods. The design team included several specialist Exos and at least one Warlock thanatonaut.
In its current iteration, the Hard Light design fires a superheated polymer round with exotic capabilities.
Do we know what is behind the closed door in the area across from the speaker? It has never been opened as far as I'm aware, and so far special events have only occurred in the main area of the tower.

And thus, as has been foretold in endless (that is six or so) former official threads, Dax will willfully and gleefully go against the will of the community and drop an unpraised title on the next OT and that next OT shall become as barren as a wasteland, filled only with pages of rage and posts asking, begging, cursing the title of the thread. So let be it written, so let it be done.
Haha, must be a massive area.Xur's stash of Sunbreakers.
Hmmm I didn't consider DLC areas of the tower, I guess we shall see.Pay for the dlc and you'll find out eventually imo.
/Raises hand.Come on, let's be honest here. The number of people who (a) own a Vex, (b) killed the templar without using the exploit, and (c) kill Atheon without using the exploit, is about 3%.

Plus you guys can't quit me. You love me!If it's not whine and cheese... I will be pissed ().not IRL pissed
But just like the game, I'll continue to come back time and again regardless of how I am treated.
I won't lie. RNG really hooked me up last night and my desire to play has been reinvigorated.

Uh, I did hard mode raid. With a couple gaffers none the less. You're kidding yourself if you think even half of the people went through the full raid.

I need a Raid this week, friend. I hate this game yet still feel the need to try and progress.

So folks, I'm in the market for a new AR to act as my main when I'm using Ice Breaker (so, basically, always except when in PvP). I love my Suros dearly, but IB is just too good to stow.
So I'm looking for something similar. Similar levels of stability, range and hell even the slower/more powerful ADS if it's going.
Even better if it's vanguard. I've got the marks for a gun from there already anyway.
Does the legendary cloaks/bonds/towels from the vanguard/cruicible break down into shards or is it a safer bet to just buy the armour and break those down?
Why does the Guardian Outfitter carry the same 4 shaders even though her offerings supposedly rotate?

I don't get it.
I just bought a Shadow Price but not really for PVP. I had some Vanguard marks burning a hole in my pocket and wanted a close-range main to compliment my max'ed scout rifle.Played some Crucible for no good reason. Everything was, Shadow Price...

Just finished my bad juju bounty. also At almost the same time I got a legendary pulse rifle that can eventually upgrade to fire in full auto with a larger clip. I am thinking about concentrating on upgrading the legendary so that I can equip a secondary exotic most of the time.
And I just finished filling up the experience circles on my legendary hex caster arc ar. Need to farm spin metal.
I like this.

Gr1m and I ran it last night. I got duplicate boots and a rocket launcher.
Buying armor is guaranteed shards so I would go with them instead of class item gamble.
Have we heard if Bad Juju will be one of the exotic's they will be buffing in the next update? I would have to think so...
It's usually not necessary or beneficial, really, but that's part of the beauty of the class skill/exotic build synergy which has a lot of endgame potential. A normally subpar skill can become invaluable when you throw on a new gun.Hmm I still have the thorn bounty on stage one taking up space. I guess I could start it.
I forgot about the defender reload ability, I usually go unbreakable since I have reload perks on gauntlets (for sub weapons, makes my not icebreaker sniper rifle load like crazy).
Okay yeah, we need to update our list of specific guns legitimately needing buffs. Don't post any already-good ARs or get laughed at by meI am kind of sad about hard light. It didn't really seem to be that popular of a gun but it got hit pretty hard with stability. Add in the overall AR nerf and it was just eating ammo and not doing much on the normal raid. I mean this is supposed to be the cutting edge AR from golden age tech?
Lol. I wouldn't fire another shot from thorn before upgrading it to Mark of the Devourer. Just equip it when turning in bounties. All this Thorn talk is making want to take it out for a weekly strike.
I'll probably give it a go today. I need to upgrade it though. I tried leveling it up in PVP but without DOT its terrible, IMO.
