Is there a way to check online if Variks has my cipher readied yet? I don't feel like logging in and going to the reef right now.
Nope.

It's a pretty stupid system. Took 3 days for my cipher to be ready one time, another time it took 1 day. Then the final time it took 2 days.

Well I did what I said I wasn't going to do. I played Iron Banner last night. It turned out that the next stop in the Bad Juju bounty was the PVP step and since my goal was to get that bounty done this weekend it sort of naturally lead me into it.

After 4 games I was 40% done and called it a night. Won 3 and lost 1 and more importantly my lowest K/D was 1.13 and my highest was 4.0. I played conservatively and carefully and it seemed to pay off. Hopefully today I can get the bounty finished up and maybe buy another Etheric light while I am at it.

Wait a minute, the Queen's Cipher is not a guaranteed drop? Are Bungie fucking serious? First you gotta play PoE over and over again to your character to 34, then you need to play PoE 35 to beat Skolas, then - if you're out of keys - you might have to either play PoE over and over again or farm wanted wolves, then you might have to play PoE several times until you get the Queen's Cipher, so you can finally play PoE over and over again after a waiting period of several days? For one fucking weapon, out of three?

My first one took 6 days. The worst part is how the Reef notification didn't go away the entire time.

Arena is boring and I hate it. Also the answer to your question is yes not guaranteed.

Yeah but totally worth your choice of some of bungie's finest exotics lol

Aren't they still selling them in the tower? I though it was just the crucible weapon guy no longer selling them.
I was hoping they might let us sell them back lol these are all collected naturally

Party Crasher is so much fun on PvE, since I reforged it to Arc and ascended it, it just shreds shields disregarding type.

Love to stop the Cabal missiles guys or make the Sword Fallen Captains hide once I have my shotgun.

Even if it does not have ideal perks, I'm glad I rescued it from the Vault of the forgotten, thanks to DGAF.

So in all, thanks to this community I started enjoying this game again, thanks to all that have carried me!

Except ToO, I'll never play that Thorn hell again.

This is all true, well you don't HAVE to beat Skolas, unless you want the ship/shader/emblem. And you also get 1 key a week (per account) from Petra in the Reef for doing a wanted bounty.

It's really the first part of an exotic bounty, much like thorn, bad juju, etc. This one is just more out of your control. Unless you're a completionist the weapons aren't all that great, so you not missing much if you don't get them.

The Vanguard guy will still be selling them.

It's an extremely high drop rate in any case. I've never heard of someone opening the chest on 32/34/35 with the bounty active and *not* get the Queen's Cipher. Like, I've read it's supposed to be random but everyone I've played with gets it on their first try.

What is random is the next step. Variks gets all "it's not you, it's me..." and refuses to call back after you give him the Queen's.

Well, today just freed up so I need to do big Destiny thingz before MGSV hits on Monday.

1. Skolas 35 finally to finish off the triumphs

2. 2x PoE 34, 1x PoE 32

3. Flawless Raider

I'll start in an hour-ish.

Anyone willing to join my noble quest? :D

I'm doing a flawless tomorrow afternoon (GMT) for a few others if you want to do that then?

I think it's guaranteed from a 32, 34, or 35. People only thought it wasn't guaranteed because they were opening the 28 chest over and over so it got a bad wrap.

I've probably done 10 by now and gotten the Queen's Cipher every time. Every person I've played with or talked to has gotten it first time.

Thinking about going to the mall in an attempt to find that edge magazine sometime today. I could easily get it on my nexus 7, but I really want to see the physical magazine.

Oh I read that question wrong. Thought we were talking about the initial bounty drop.

Well, exotic bounties are quite more varied than this. It's just repetitive.

I'm doing PoE 32 right now, if you want to join. Two free spots. Just finished round 1.

10 sounds like a good number :p

I've only done 2 (still need the damn Promise)! But I've probably played with people completing that bounty 5 or 6 times and it always drops on the first try.

So I just finished getting to rank 3 on IB to grab the second emblem since they won't be available after year one.

Quick question, I have a completed Iron Wrath bounty on my Hunter that's worth 10k exp.
Can we save those for when TTK comes out and turn it in then? If so, I need to play a couple of matches with my Titan and Warlock.

I'm passing on dregs promise. I'm just not going through the process again for that weapon. Still wondering why I'm even doing it for the Bow.

You know most people suck at this game when I come top in IB at level 32 vs level 34s and I've not played in months ;D So many people relying on cheap tactics to win most of their fights, doesn't always pay off!

Ok, doing some PvP now but I'll be up for another Skolas run at some point today. My PSN is DrDrizzay101, you can send me a FR whenever.

As long as there are two newbies ready to roll it works well for me to knock out two birds at once since this week has easy modifiers. But if I ever have a newbie and a vacancy I'll definitely hit you up!

I'm in ib now but if you have a spot for skolas at some point shoot me an invite please, still looking for a first.

What cheap tactics are they using? Just curious about what I may run into.

An interesting thing I've seen is that people will judge certain weapons in reviews on youtube based off of the CHANCE of certain encounters. I'm a sniper and prefer that and I usually never play in matches where I'm up against rival snipers, in reviews for the Queenbreakers bow they bring up the fact that you will be out sniped if getting into a snipe fight, which almost never happens in my matches.

Worst thing today is, I thought it was just hunters at first, but everyone other than Titans has a teleport double jump, combined with the IB shotgun with insane range, I've just been getting jumped over and shot from silly ranges. I've learnt to stay back a lot more seeing as I'm weaker than everyone else at 32.

Edit: And TLW kills me in one shot, is that a glitch or some shit? I've got one and it's no where near as good!

Queen's Bow is super fun. Not the optimal use of the Exotic slot in any scenario, but as I keep saying...this game is easy enough to let you play with anything and still get by. Some people play a Dragon strike where nothing has shields, there's like two majors in the entire thing and the boss can stagger and die in a minute with like their "perfect setups" as if it were a Nightfall or Skolas. "Hold on let me get my Gjallarhorn for Sepkis" wat. Best explanation is "for time savings" like lol ok you'll be done a full minute sooner :p

I like playing around with other stuff. Queen's Bow and Lord of Wolves are probably the most awesome guns you can bring to a regular Strike or non-Skolas PoE. Ammo for daaaays. Bonus points if Specialist is active.

Get the Bow man, it's life.

Last weekly done. Got teamed up with some jerk who pushed me and the third down from up top. We ended up wiping. The two us stayed back as the jerk jumped down. He died 30 seconds in. We left him there to rot as we sniped the Nexus Mind.

Depends on the map and playlist. You'll find a lot more snipers in 3v3 than 6v6 modes for instance. Also, some maps are significantly trickier to snipe in. The sniper lanes on Firebase Delphi are fucking crazy. I've seen top-level teams do competitive matches there and holy shit I'd never know where I was being shot from :p but generally it's a map where you'll see nobody sniping if it's just casual play for ex.

A sniper can be super effective in 6v6, but it's true that shotguns are far more likely threats.
