Got 3 exotics from the farming trick before fucking up and killing him while I still had 6 left.
Got this and this as far as things I can actually use go and then got a Hunter chest as well.
Like how the Heart of the Praxic has nipple piercings on the chest.

Maybe it's because I haven't played a shooter in a while, but I'm honestly having a pretty good time with Destiny's main campaign. Been making progress and getting better gear at a pretty frequent pace. You really do level up fast, though. I've just finished up the Venus campaign missions and I'm way over leveled for the next set of campaign stages.
I'm really interested to try out the new content, and I'd like to play as much of the older stuff as I can. It is pretty nice to see the dlc stages integrated within the main campaign. Really gives you a lot to go through. I'm liking it so far.

This 3 of coins thing has been semi productive.
Overall, I got 16 exotic engrams, 4 of them weapons (1 primary, 3 secondary) and 12 armor engrams. 4 of the repeated, which is BS. Spent around 125 strange coins overall, but not bad ration of price per exotic, even if I can't use most of them since most are armor for my warlock, who can only use one at a time.

Worth getting items from Xur? Are the legendary armor items a guarantee to be for your class now?
If you don't want to ask GAF members, LFGdestiny works. Reddit fireteams too.
Buy three of coins from Xur (he's across from the door to the speaker today) do scourge of winter, when you get to the boss room, use one, knock the boss down to a sliver of health, then kill him and yourself with the rocket launcher. Rinse and repeat until you're out of three of coins.
Do it before they fix it.
Just spend your coins on the three of coins and do the trick until you're out of them before they fix it. Even if you don't get something for your class, it's level 40 exotics regardless.

Been playing for a bit and hit level 6 Hunter.

Yeah, I'm really interested in doing this myself, having never played the raids myself, I'd really like to get more involved with the community. I'm only a lvl 19 hunter right now, but I'd love to be able to do all the raids eventually.
I've been leveling so fast that I feel like I'll go past the normal level for VoG before getting the chance to play it, but I honestly don't really understand how this stuff works yet.

Question about the farm, if doing with 2 people do engrams only pop for the guy who does the kill, other other person would still be alive and finish the mission.

Well I managed to get 4 Exotics in about 20 minutes. That was nice. Too bad I'm all out of strange coins :-(

It won't work with two people, I don't think, unless you both kill yourselves with rocket launchers as you kill the boss, because if the other guardian isn't dead it won't let you do it. the entire point of this farming method is it's easy fast repeatable ultra kills

I bought the Taken King expansion due to the positive reviews and I'm enjoying it so far. I stopped playing Destiny about a year ago due to a number of issues and it seems TK has fixed a good majority of them. It feels a lot less grindy and a lot more fun. I used the level 25 boost on a new Exo Warlock and I'm having a blast with the Stormcaller subclass, it's very satisfying using the Stormtrance ability like a Sith Lord.

It's much easier if you're a Hunter because they have a perk that lets them see chests on the mini map, but you can still do it by running around the perimeter of the mausoleum and hitting the rooms/halls in it.
So I logged in and did my veterans tour and grabbed the suros shader from the post master and the instant 25 item. So I created a new hunter and got to the tower, leveled him up to 25 but for some reason I don't have the suros shader and emblem in that characters mail. Does it just take a while to get on new characters?
pretty sure you can get them on the opposite side of the post master in the same kiosk
