DestinyGAF Clan -> Request thread

I am really confused. So is this a different clan that the one I joined during the alpha? Are there two separate groups? Is that one now dead?

I'm sorry did the disclaimer I wrote too offensive for you? I just don't see it.
I don't think many people even saw that disclaimer, and IMO it doesn't really reflect what is the case. It pretty much says 'There's another DestinyGAF group, but you can join this one if you play on PS4', which is not really a disclaimer at all. iIt should reflect something like 'Be warned that this might not be the final form of the DestinyGAF clan, as the organization of DestinyGAF has not yet been set in stone.'.

I can not add anything to the OP as it is not my thread, as for not taking any criticism on board ...... it has simply been that this is unnecessary, please stop.

There has been discussion here and I still feel, like all other clans have been done in the past that they are separated by platform ....... in that way players within a group will be able to play with or against each other without having to check up as to whether you have the same platform.

I am open to ideas but there really have been none, just recurring posts of people stating they deem this unnecessary.
And this is where I just completely lose you. It has been stated multiple times now that it is perfectly possible to create separate clans within a single group, and thus dividing the current 'DestinyGAF' group in subclans based on platform is possible while still maintaining that main 'DestinyGAF' umbrella. As such, the problem you are talking about on having to check up as to wether you have the same platform is non-existent. Knowing all this, creating a separate group for all different platforms is simply redundant.

This has been said / explained before, stop ignoring it.

I still love you guys! ;-)

Alpha one will disappear when the alpha site closes.

This is the platform specific group, there is a general one also.

Join whichever you feel suits your preferences.

I am not ignoring it, just not sure I agree that it is a better setup.

Until it is apparent as to how these "subclans" will be handled within one large group it is hard to be confident.

Also if the organisation is not yet set in stone, why should this group cease will the other exists?

Applied.

Sounds good. If you plan on playing Destiny on PS3. May I suggest taking the initiative and create a, DestinyGAF PS3 group and thread like we did?

Just a thought. (:
It doesn't seem like a huge demand for that thread at the moment. If it isn't made closer to the beta launch I'll do it.

I have applied through bungie.com. My bungie name and my GAF name are the same. Anything else I need to do on my end?

Because that group was created before this one and there is no need to have two different groups running at once with different people leading them and with different people in them this early on.

If you don't agree with how that original group is organized, then you go to the thread in which that group was made and bring your criticisms and ideas there to discuss with other people, and then DestinyGAF will grow from the discussion in that place.

You don't go run of with your own idea, create your own alternative 'DestinyGAF' and present it in a new topic on GAF while there is already an existing 'DestinyGAF' going on right next to it.

At this point in time, there needs to be discussion on what DestinyGAF should look like, and you two rushing off to create your own version of DestinyGAF is not discussion. The discussion and feedback around DestinyGAF should be happening in a central thread around a single version of DestinyGAF, not in two separate threads about two separate ideas of DestinyGAF run by different people.

If you guys still need a us central time admin I can help out. I'll be back at my house in 3 hours and a half and have nothing else to do I can let people into the group.

Tiemen you are saying exactly what I would've liked to.

This reeks of somebody staking ownership and a sense of propriety over 'running' a club. There's something in the tone of the posts, especially from Shadownet that make me a bit uncomfortable. They feel patronising and condescending - "I am in charge and you are my lieutenants!". Perhaps it's a language thing or just the internet messing up tone, but this just feels a bit stinky to me.

I did not rush off to create anything, I joined like everyone else and Shadownet asked for admins ........ it's creation has nothing to do with me.

So please redirect your insults and abuse elsewhere, I have been nothing but polite in my posts and discussions with you.

Wouldn't this whole clan dispute thing be resolved if we got clarification on what is the cap per group? Because as far as I understand the cap for the alpha got filled up or could get filled up fairly quickly. On GTA online alone we had like one or two 360 clans and same for ps3 clans.

This is a precaution. By separating it by consoles you assure that there is a bigger chance that the members in your group will be able to join you. If 400 are ps4 players and 100 are xbone players then those xbone players are basically shafted with limitation on who they can play with. This isn't rocket science. Bigger groups requires more management. Jumping the gun and saying your clan is all encompassing is implying you know what the size limit is and you think you'll be safe. Because if you don't know what happens if a group of like 50 people have to make their own separate group because all 600 spots are filled up in destiny gaf?

Tl; dr figure out what the size cap is. For now there's no issue and it should be better to separate by console until we know what's going on.

We're adults people. Instead of crying that somebody else made a different group let's sit down and figure a solution. Because like I said this is the most logical and realistic approach to groups in a forum as big as neogaf.

There is no cap

I'm not insulting and / or abusing you. I know you didn't create the group ( That was aimed more at Shadownet, but he isn't replying himself, so I can't quote him. ), but Shadownet has been referring to you as his 'second in command', you have been defending it's existence from the get-go and you are the one online right now replying to my posts, so I am having this discussion with you. If you don't want to have this discussion with me, that's fine; just don't reply to me and I can't reply to you. I stand by my points.
