Detroit: Become Human has sold 10 million copies on PlayStation and PC

You know its a good game where I never even played it before, but know at least 2 of the characters, uh pretty well.

xD

I just wish this game just focus on the first character story with the depressive cop and nothing more.

Is so fucking good their lore.

I like the game, but I could never finish it even though I was 50% complete....

For university reasons.

That was a great cover art.

Not this from US version

Nah, can't agree with this. The top cover art looks like a generic poster with all those characters plastered on it. The bottom cover is simple and tells you exactly what the game is about. I especially like the close-up because you can clearly see that it's not a human, or at least not completely, further highlighting the title and themes of the game.

I like shitting on American cover art as much as the next guy, but the US cover is far better here.

Deserve for the best game they made.
Too bad QD are stuck in star wars hell. Really sitting out the entire gen to make an ip game that has a big chance of flopping.
Fuck this.

Well deserved, it's the only good game Quantic Dream ever made.
Sony should have acquired them back in 2018.
Not according to the current Playstation managers. Better spend 1 billion dollars at unknown developers doing risky GAAS projects.
The way you bitch about this in every thread is amazing, but there's literally no one left from that top PlayStation management in 2018; Tsuyoshi Kodera, Shuhei Yoshida, Shawn Layden and Jim Ryan.
Good thing they didn't looking at the shitshow Quantic Dream is as a developer.

Loved the game. Not so much Marcus story but Kara and Conor were very interesting.

I really like the first part of Marcus arc (his relation with Manfred/Manfred's son), but the entire rebellion arc feels bland in comparison with Kara for example.

It had some good ideas and great visuals, but ultimately it suffered the way most David Cage stuff usually does. Ideas of grandeur he can never realise.

It's always funny how people live in this fantasy world.

Detroit Became Human came out in 2018 and Quantic Dream has developed 0 games since then... 6+ years we're looking at here, but they get a massive pass, but Sony studios get held to a standard of why haven't they released something after just 4 years...

I can always tell when people are fundamentally unserious.

Most of the studios games topped out around 3 million. They were a big part of Sony, and this game was pretty successful. I think Sony largely went into a different direction due to the issues surrounding David Cage and maybe the potential for people to get tired of this kind of game design.

They're putting all their eggs into Star Wars and they must be pretty nervous about that right now.

There are very few companies where Sony had the chance to buy them, but didn't and it was a mistake. The list is like FromSoftware and Mojang.

Very impressive for a game of this style to gather so many sales. It was my favorite Quantic Dream game as well. Its hard to tell good stories when you do branching narratives, but the amount of branching you can do and still tell a decent story in Detroit is pretty great. Huge replay value. Going for the platinum trophy also allowed me to see things i would have not though doing and was pretty great. Especially playing the Connor arc where you turn him into a exterminator.

Probably the next Remake....oh it's already on PC, nvm.

Heavy Rain was much better, but still a nice game.
Heavy Rain had a good start, but man did it go flying off the rails. Same with Indigo Prophecy.

Detroit might be the only game where Cage stuck the landing. Still don't think it deserves to sell better than Persona 5. 10 million is a lot.

Ultimately an underwhelming, all over the place game, with very weak ending(s), but i always like to play these type of interactive films, so i'm glad it sold so well.

I think i liked Beyond Two Souls best for some reason.

The police investigations with Connor and Clancy Brown's character were so fucking good. It made me want an entire game based around that. Like a futuristic Police Quest or LA Noire.

Platted it during COVID quarantine. Seems like a lifetime ago.

Not my type of game, but my girlfriend loved it and finished it 3 times on PS4 Pro.

Wow quite a few. And it's been on ps plus and the game catalog is think.

It is the best quantic dream game, I actually finished it.

I vaguely remember enjoying my one Detroit playthrough.

More recently, my mind was blown when I found the actress who played Kara, the cute nanny android, also plays Firecracker on The Boys.

Indigo prophecy, heavy rain, beyond two souls and Detroit. Loved them all. It's a shame they've not released a game since.

Feels like forever that was announced. Wouldn't be surprised if it never makes it.
I'd imagine Cage's style would clash pretty hard with Disney's family friendly image, which is also hyper attuned to certain social media circles. The two are opposites. Cage is too polarizing for Disney's Star Wars. Lucas could've tolerated him but doubt Disney will. It will either never come out or be severely compromished. The teaser trailer was great though.
