Brad and Vinny are the two people I want to hear from most about their experiences with the game.

i can't believe edge gave it such a high score. people might get mad at edge for dissing their favorite games, but at least a high score from them actually means something.

That's OK, in a couple months we'll be talking about how it has a ton of problems and was generally overrated by the hype train. Get your diatribes ready Gaf!

Anyway, FUCKIN PSYCHED. Got it coming on Gamefly, probably won't come until Wednesday though :(.

I can't imagine Vinny jumping into any RPG other than Witcher 2 at the moment. Which it needs it for GOTY consideration. Everyone there will probably play Deus Ex HR at one point or another.

We're discussing it in relation to the review, so it should be fine.

That's why I quit after the Augmentation. I knew I was satisfied from the prologue.

I wasn't really expecting much from Deux Ex HR, now I might need to check it out.

My roommate bought it, so I can see how it plays.

This. I'm still on the fence whether or not to get the game. Never played a Deus-Ex before. The RPG/stealth/world elements are what interest me the most. Gonna watch some more reviews before I really make up my mind.
 
I wasn't sure how the game would turn out. I thought it would be kind of mixed. Awesome to see it universally awesome. I kind of want to wait a week or two to see if there are any sales. I haven't bought a game in a while, much less an FPS.
 
All these reviews are pushing it off my lovefilm list, right into the 'go and pre-order it quick' list.

And here I thought I'd make it through August without buying a game. At least it'll be a good one, eh!
 
Tempted to buy it week one, but I know there'll be sales in a month, so I'll wait. Looking to purchase around $45.

So the console version suck? Gamersyde wrote that 360 version has framerate and texture issues, I fear the worst for the PS3 version then...
 
thanks for making this a new thread. I was curious about the scores but didn't want to have to dig through the OT. Looks like this ended up being pretty solid! Can't wait to see what Giant Bomb has to say, though.

I'm tempted to pick this up now. I tried playing through the first recently and didn't enjoy it though.
 
I haven't really been paying attention to this game at all, because I feel that it didn't show that well at E3 and it didn't seem all that exciting. These reviews are fantastic though and that's really great. What a pleasant surprise.
 
The product page says $20 dollars credit, but the search results listings for "deus ex human revolution" show only $10 credit. Also, when you are just about to finalize the order, it says

"Congratulations. Your purchase has qualified you for a $10 promotional credit toward the purchase of items shipped and sold by Amazon.com......"

so seems like the product listing page for $20 credit is in error?
 
Hmmmm, the checkout page on amazon is only saying 10 bucks. I wonder if they just didn't update it yet. I'd like to order it so I can get release date shipping.

I'm asking amazon what's going on now. I'll let you guys know what happens.

I'm chatting with them now, though I don't think they apply the credit, until it ships, so it may be right then. I'll see what they say.

It is, I was surprised. Especially considering another member of their staff on Twitter says he disagrees and would rate the game higher. At the end of the day though it's one person's opinion (well two in this case). I'm interested to see how much of an impact their criticisms have on the game when I get to play it (3 days yet) :(
 
Those are some nice reviews, HR had a lot to live up to. I wonder if there's gonna be a shitstorm if Giant bomb gives the game a negative review.
 
i might be the only person on gaf who is going to be going into this game unspoiled. i haven't read a single review. a single preview. a single plot point. i watched TWO gameplay videos from ages ago, and picked up on the general positive waves that came out after the leak.

i'm going to have to carry on flying under the radar until next week when i'll have time to play it, but i'm picking my PC collectors edition up this week and getting that baby installed.
