Deus Ex: Mankind Divided |OT| We Asked For This

Maybe the most little-known thing I can think of right now: Remote Hack can use some hacking software. Just FYI

Was there even an option to choose between stun gun and tranquilizer during the Dubai mission? Must of overlooked the option to choose between the two. I remember it only giving you a lethal (firearm) or nonlethal (tranquilizer) option.

Anyways, the game is awesome so far. The IP has really improved its cover mechanics, and looks absolutely gorgeous aside from the sharpening effect.

Miller asks you two questions - lethal/nonlethal and then range/closeup. Obviously if you pick nonlethal/close, you get the Stun Gun, which is the "Tranq Pistol" in a way.Just instead of elephant tranquilizer darts the guy gets stunned into unconsciousness.

Let me say one thing about weapons...you'll be surprised if you check car trunks! Stun Gun, Grenade Launcher...you'll find one now and then...

Nevermind... Got "Foxiest of the Hounds" now, while playing an other game. Turns out the achievement system on the Xbox One is just still garbage.

Also, the Patch for PS4 is out. Xbox One soon:
  • Potential fix for the Subway crash in Prague 3 blocking progression for some users.
  • Fixed an issue in Breach where Master Packs sometimes wouldn’t be awarded when completing all levels.
  • Fixed a crash that would sometime occur when completing all Breach levels and Prime Unit levels at the same time.
  • Fixed an issue in Breach allowing users to gain infinite Master Packs.

We are aware some users might still be experiencing the Subway crash, even with this patch. If so, please make sure to submit your crash report through the PS4's automatic system, and let us know your PSN ID in the comments here.

Talking of the end credit song, the Deus Ex channel just uploaded it to YouTube

Mankind Divided

A middling to average sequel that suffers from an extremely aimless plot, even more so than the original. I think I would be more forgiving if it could hit some emotional notes, but the story is too meandering for any character to leave even any impact on you. (I honestly can't tell you anything meaningful about Jensen's new partner.) Also the final couple hours are in many regards worse than the previous game.
Okay, you just got to this side of the city Jensen, now sneak/run all the way to the other side. Yes, the framerate is gonna constantly be in the gutter. Yes, you're gonna have to do this 5-6 times if you wanna talk to everybody.

You can do that? So much time wasted lol. Not to mention those
annoying drones I always had to remote hacked or temporarily disable with EMP grenades.

I know right.
I tried once when he had armor up and it didn't work so I thought you couldn't do it

He refused to go down even with point blank shotgun shells too

Trying to drag people when the objective keeps popping up on the screen is infuriating.

Late game minor spoilers:
This is mainly an issue due to Tarvos security guard takedowns in London

the
final boss
I just assumed was similar to the heavy armored cop units in which you can stun with emp weapons and melee takedown... and that worked lol.

The Glitch sidequest was awesome. Felt like I was in a GITS episode. When
Cassan has to cut the message short because cloaked dudes break into your apartment, man,
fantastic.

I'm doing the
murder
mystery now too. This is some good stuff.

At mission 13 and loving the game so far, feel like I spend way more time exploring every area than other people since I think I've poured 35+ hours into the game so far.

The one thing I absolutely despise though is breach mode. It was ok a few rounds, but the trophies require you to finish tier 3 servers (?) and I think I just made it to the end of tier 1 and I am ready to never run this crap again. Between shitty FOVs, not being able to tell if I am crouched or standing most of the time, not knowing where any shit is, and enemies that seem to all 1 shot me, and the Damocles sword of the infernal clock always counting down its just an absolute miserable experience trying to run them. I don't even understand some of the challenge stuff, like I finished a server in 1:59:15 and the "challenge" is to finish it in 7 seconds. Really? Really? 7 fucking seconds???

Stop adding weird crappy psuedo-MP stuff to your single player games, Ubisoft I think has learned that lesson long ago. Put in a multiplayer card and casino game and call it a day.

Finished this last night. Though it has a few flaws with fleshing out some of the cast and Breach mode is a steaming pile of horseshit it was otherwise a great game.

The art, and exploration in the ways you can do the missions is great. I absolutely adored stealthing my way through. Some of the side missions were great I wish though that
Eliza Cassan had a role in the main story as an AI partner or something. The side mission with her was great, I want more.

I have almost nothing to do with my money. Are there vendors that sell praxis kits? That's about the only thing I'd like to buy.

Anyone know of any cool items that are only available via vendor? It seems like you find every weapon or item in the game via just exploring a little off the beaten path.

I'm playing this at present. I'm not sure whether I'm having fun, or whether I'm merely going through the motions and suffering from the delusion that I'm having fun, because it's the new hotness. If that makes any sense.

This is in no way a bad experience. But much like DX:HR I can't help but feel that the ambitions of the developers don't necessarily translate all that well from the idea to implementation.

It feels to me that there is a disjunction between what/who I am as a character, and my relationship with the game world that is at odds with a lot of busy work the game systems and scenarios revolve around.

It never made a heap of sense that Jensen as head of Sarif security would spend much of his time rooting around in cabinets to find credit chips and ammunition (often in the most unlikely of places) in DX:HR and with Jensen as part of some Interpol Special Unit in DX:MD, it similarly doesn't seem to make a lot of sense that he'd still be doing it either.

It's not that I'm against busy work. The hacking etc to uncover stuff makes a lot of sense, and one can always remove equipment via a narrative scenario to make equipment acquisition a thing, I just feel that the presumption that there's any joy to this sort of rooting around by players by developers is largely misplaced.

Also, just some weird gamey aspects that feel unnecessary. Case in point the beginning tutorial mission, where it's lethal/non-lethal as your weapon choices (ok I'm down with that), but then for no real reason given you have plenty of room for both a stun gun and a tranq rifle in your inventory they throw in 'close range or long range?' Why? How about giving me both and allowing me to top and tail it as I choose instead? It's like a superflous second layer.

Is there a tranq pistol anywhere in the game? I've been tranqing people with the rifle but it's annoying since it zooms in so much. Need a closer range gun. I'm still in the first Prague hub if that helps.

There's a free stun gun in the boot of a car/truck on the northern most road of North Prague. I can't remember if you need the remote hacking aug to get it though as only some boots are alarmed

BioShock Infinite is like playing some homeless guy's vivid imagination
I'm having some trouble with the Neon Nights side quest.

I've gone to the two objectives in the second part of Prague, but
both areas have been completely empty of personnel or intel and neither objective has updated
. Is this a glitch or have I somehow screwed up the mission?
I don't know if it matters or not, but I had entered the Neon Nights club before the mission prompt
.

Gonna bump and ask again.

Any thoughts?

I'm right now doing a new game+, and I'm enjoying the game a lot more. I didn't play the game to its fullest the first time.

How do you mean?

How are these credits still rolling...

Edit: HR, Finance, IT... these are the sections people joke about when talking about the Ubisoft credits length.

Also the only place I didn't explore properly was the final area
due to the invisible time limit

If this is the mission I'm thinking of,
did you hack the security door in the night club and find a pocket assistant off of a dead body? If you haven't...do that. It should send you to an apartment that's marked with the suppliers logo. You'll have to open a secret door and hack a safe to get the last part of the quest. If you don't have lvl.4 hacking, just use a multitool.

I hope that helped.

Just rolled credits on it on GMDE difficulty, 22 hours and did most of the sidequests. Really loved it, especially once I started playing around more with advanced powers, like the dash and the force push thing. Remote hacking is insanely handy, as well.

Managed to get the "good" ending, or at least I think I did,
by quickly taking out Marchenko and then getting over to the VIPs with relative ease.
Credits took forever to sit through, but the stinger in the middle was a great touch. All in all, I don't see why people say the ending is bad. It's got more of an ending than HR did, for sure. The immediate conflict is resolved and the pieces in the overall story are pushed a bit further. The only thing I really wish would've been addressed is
Aria's performance on the final mission since she was gonna be on McReady's team. I thought for sure there would be a moment where you'd have a chance to save her, like Malik in HR.

Really curious if
Jensen's pursuit of Janus
is handled in a DLC or in the next game. Probably the next game.

Ah, thanks for that tidbit.

I have come across items in car trunks, but none of them contained weapons. Good to know it's a possibility, though!

Someone mentioned finding the stun gun at TF29 headquarters. I've scoured the place fairly well, guess I'll have to keep looking. LOL.

Finished my first playthrough. Really does feel like a huge Human Revolution expansion with better animations than a big sequel, I'd have to say. Which is good and bad, of course, since Human Revolution was so good.

-Segregation metaphors were clumsy. Atmosphere was good but the portrayal felt hollow. Picus News is far too clearly evil and obviously not journalists, which makes the whole thing feel far too, on the nose, maybe. It's not a subtle commentary, for certain.

-Like I've said, Adam is so close to being an interesting character. But since he's not allowed to show any moments of vulnerability
other than a few moments in the Glitch sidequest
or have meaningful relationships, he's still just the "I never asked for this/ sunglasses at night" guy.

-This might get more discussion in the spoiler thread, but the game overall
felt way too open-ended in regards to the plot. It didn't answer anything and it raised more questions, so now the 3rd game has big shoes to fill. If they don't just explain what happened after Panchaea and Adam's augs in some dumb comic, at least.

60 hours of gameplay and 18 minutes of credits and I didn't get the Foxiest of Hounds achievement despite not ever triggering any alarms. The information popup didn't even activate.

Got the Pacifist achievement at least, as well as an achievement for watching the credits.

Is there no credit for completing it on GMDE difficulty then?

I haven't installed my 7200 rpm drive in my new PS4 yet, as I've just been lazy and not wanting to dl my games again. I wonder if it'll help with the issue, if it truly is asset streaming related.
The issue is still there with a 7200 RPM HDD. I can't quantify how much better it makes it, since I only have a 7200 RPM HDD, but it is still there.

FYI, I still got the pacifist achievement when I completed the game. It's just something the devs missed(I mean... how?) while writing lines.

Speaking of which, (end game spoiler)
I fought the last boss entirely with my Tranq rifle, got the pacifist achievement, yet later Alex said he was dead? Another thing the devs missed? I'm pretty sure you can't kill someone with a Tranq rifle, even if you shoot him 50 times lol.
My
TV news reel
at the end
showed him as being arrested and you get to talk to Vega about why you chose to spare him
. Maybe you did something wrong?

You cannot be seen by the end boss to get Foxiest. I think that trips up a lot of people with the same issue.

I didn't get either of the achievements. Feels like the game thought I activated some alarms even though I didn't, and I certainly didn't kill anybody. I even checked to make sure nobody fell to their deaths or anything after I dragged them around.

Yeah, I wished he at least had more of a sense of humor. Just gimme something.

Are there no sidequests in
Golem City? I made my way through the main area and just got to the Throat. Pretty sure I explored everything. If true, that's disappointing, because the area is amazing from a visual standpoint.

I've only played a few hours but it seemed like he had some pretty good sarcastic/deadpan humor going on.

I feel like JC nailed the sarcasm/deadpan better than Adam...maybe it's nostalgia glasses, though.

Geralt also does it better, IMO. (CDPR's writers are really hard to beat, though.)

Uhmmmmmm my background music bugged out and is now gone, no matter what I do.

No ambient background music in Prague, NO BEATS IN THE RED QUEEN.

I am fairly alarmed right now.

Dude I had the same problem, I have no idea where I went wrong. Currently speeding my way through NG+ with nearly all my augs maxed out, should be a breeze this around.

she would have let him live
, you also see a cutscene of
marchenko in an orange prison suit
.

Just finished the game (32 hours). Did every SM and took my time.
Some very good side missions, good hub and world design (bigger worlds often feel more empty than this, every corner was recognizable and I needed nearly no map after some time) and good level design. But the main story... it really ends in the middle. This is Deus Ex Mankind Divided: Chapter 1.
Still very enjoyable. 8.5/10 from me.
