Playground knocking it out of the park again. Still amazed at the shots from the Series S, looks fantastic. What time will they unlock the pre-load, tonight at midnight?
yeah i wouldn’t mind a mode like that!And that’s my second fear
There must be middle ground option! 60 FPS at 1440p, without aggressive pop in.
Already available for preload. I have it loaded on XSX and PC.
Same way horizon forbidden west will be a showcase for next gen.How is this a "showcase for next gen" when the game is "cross gen" ... ?
Preload has been up for weeks broski
The only thing that bothers me is the aggressive pop-in that occurs even when playing on Ultra on PC. I guess it's the result of last gens consoles being supported, which is a real shame.
The same for me.Series X Performance 60 fps for me. No hesitation.
I haven't yet played it, but I've seen various footage online with top of the line rigs sporting RTX 3080/3090.What kind of drive you streaming from?
Just finished watching the entire video.
Game looks stunning as expected. But I'm glad he devoted a section just for audio. I already have Dolby Atmos for headphones but after watching this I'm considering upgrading my license to cover my entire audio system.
Good stuff here folks.
midnight local time yeah. Or you can set your location to New Zealand and play nowYeah, I clearly was not clear about that. I have the pre-load, just wondering when they unlock it.
midnight local time yeah. Or you can set your location to New Zealand and play now
nopeNo negative repercussions from that? Don't want to goof my saves or other downloads.
Xbox One X doesn't just have more pixels, it's a far richer experience all around - it's close to Series X and Series S performance modes, just running at half frame-rate.
So basically according to him the game is what it is mainly because of XSX hardware. I am sorry but that's objectively false. FH5 is absolutely not a XSX masterpiece (if because of XSX). You can say it is a Xbox masterpiece and the XSX simply inherited about the game state of technology.an Xbox Series X masterpiece... It's at once an astonishing showcase of what the Xbox Series consoles are capable of delivering
You see the difference? No superlatives adjectives "astonishing showcase" here. "The version is excellent...improved over PS4" and they are not suprised about the big (almost odd) performance improvement compared to PS4 family of hardware. But we could say however that Death Stranding is a PS5 masterpiece in that it shows the true power of the PS5 RDNA2 hardware compared to PS4 family of hardware.Death Stranding: Director's Cut - a beautifully tailored PS5 experience
An upgrade that's well worth the money. the PS5 version is excellent overall. The visuals and performance are both improved over PS4
If your home system supports Atmos you don’t need to pay anything to use it. The license is only for the headset, the other download is free.Just finished watching the entire video.

I am sorry but this game is not a "XSX masterpiece" as they put it here (meaning masterpiece only on XSX / XSS). Let me explain:
According to John XSX (1600p-4k 60fps) gives you basically the X1X (1600p-4k 30fps) game at double framerate.
So there is actually no improvement from newer RDNA2 technology, only linear improvement 1x from GCN to RDNA2. XSX is equivalent to 12 GCN Tflops.
I say it's disappointing because when we look at for instance Death Stranding on PS5 (exclusive console / PC, like FH5), the game on PS5 at native 4K 60fps (10.2tf) pushes 4x more stuff than Pro 4K CBR 30fps (4.2tf), for about the same performance according to the analysis that was done in the NXGamer thread. So PS5 would be the equivalent of 16.8 GCN tflops. There is a 1.6x improvement from GCN Tflops to PS5 RDNA2 Tflops. We found the same 1.6x improvement if we use PS4 (1080p 30fps) as a baseline.
Now how does John describe this game related to the Xbox Series X hardware?

This game looks amazing in every possible way but it also gets me excited to know that the same talented development team is working on a new Fable.
If they don't want to reinvent the wheel, it is possible to make a 80+ title. Look at Guerilla Games with Horizon (Ubisoft, Tomb Raider) or Insomniac with Spider-Man (Arkham Series). The game is impressive, but an open world action RPG is a different beast altogether. I'm as impressed with them as anybody, and I'm hopeful for Fable in their hands, but I need to see proof they can deliver because those types of games aren't exactly their wheelhouse till we see proof they can tackle it at a high level and deliver.
Next-Gen = More grass.![]()

just bc it's cross gen doesn't mean it can't look great compared to last gen

If money is not an issue, yes. But price-wise (considering you can get the Xbox for $500 retail price) you might get worse performance with a $500-700 PC.I'm so glad I'm fully switching to PC. Never having to deal with 30fps ever again is the best thing ever.

You came into this thread knowing you had no interest in Xbox versions why? Thread literally says"Yeah 60fps with drops, dynamic 4k, lower details and reduced detaill...?
No.

Xbox One X needs a performance mode.
Make it 40fps, 45fps, or just completely unlocked. Why bother putting VRR in your console if you're not going to let owners make use of it.
For One X gamers, FH5 is a giant step backwards from FH4.
Do you really think they care that much about a discontinued console that lasted the grand total of 2 years and ½???
The 2013 Xbox One (S) will have far more users
While I think FH5 looks stunning, I agree with you on principle. He is gonna do the same thing for Horizon FW, get swept up in the hype and praise it to high heaven making it sound like a true next gen showpiece when we all know the game will look outdated the moment next gen only games like Avatar drop.I am sorry but this game is not a "XSX masterpiece" as they put it here (meaning masterpiece only on XSX / XSS).
