After an interesting but games-lite reveal, we wanted to see much more from Switch 2 - and Nintendo has delivered, with an hour-long Direct that goes into depth on first and third-party games, hardware, new system level features and much more. Rich, Oliver and John share their notes on the show, the games and the console. And of course, there's a range of pixel counts and performance tests on some of the games we saw. Just don't go looking for any ray tracing...
- Looks like BOTW Nintendo Switch 2 edition was running at 1440p60, no sight of DLSS at all
- Metroid 4K/60 with AA. Using AA is very uncommon from Nintendo games
- NS2 dock , unlike regular dock from NS, have a cooling system
- HDR, 120hz, VRR get DF off guard
- HDR is not quite good at LCD, so they hope the panel have a decent build

Some more Pixel counts and frame rates:

Mario Kart World: 1440p 60fps
Donkey Kong Bananza: 1080p 60fps
Elden Ring: 1080p mostly 30fps
Cyberpunk: Counts of 540p (might be handheld mode), 720p, 792p, 1080p and 30fps with some dips
Final Fantasy 7 Intergrade: 1080p 30fps
Tony Hawk: Might be 4K and is running 60fps

4K 60fps will be limited to only select first-party games. Given that Retro Studios is a great studio and knows how to design Metroid games with 60fps in mind, it's no surprise they were to squeeze a 4K 60fps or 1080 120fps modes for Metroid Prime 4.

No surprise that third-party games run at 1080p, 30fps (lucky to be stable 30fps). Nintendo fanboys need to keep their inhibitions in check because they have to be reminded that the Switch 2 is a handheld and that there is going to be a balance between battery life and power levels they can squeeze. The fact that the lowest battery level is around 2 hours is concerning and not too different from the Steam Deck OLED.

I'm satisfied with my PS5 Pro on my OLED TV. I'm going to adopt a wait-and-see approach because my interest in the Switch 2 is very low.

Seeing games running 4k60 and 1440p60 on it has been a genuinely nice surprise. Looking forward to seeing more third party games on it and see what Nintendo can really do with it

Wonder why theres no DLSS, all the speculation of the Switch 2 and its power was always considering it runs DLSS at System level on everything isn't it?

makes no cents how dores it have broot force powers to run games better then ps4?

Maybe Nintendo's saving DLSS power for the latter half of the Switch 2's life to reinvigorate interest then.

Since the screen is 1080p, doesn't it make sense to see most trailers at 1080p?

The main target-audience will.be the handheld-demographic, so it would be more logical to show how games will look at that resolution.

PC gamer who recently migrated to PS5 Pro, I kinda feel the same way...

Mario Kart World looks awesome but PS5 has Forza Horizon coming up.

Donkey Kong, Metroid, Air Raiders, Xenoblade X 60fps, new Pokemon at high resolution and 60fps,...

It all sound great, but that DF performance summary has me worried in regards to future game releases. I absolutely despised performance and shitty UX on the Nintendo Switch for these past few years. I love Nintendo games but it has to be an optimized and fluid experience.

Wait and see. Probably buying it this summer though. That donkey game is looking very, very fresh. Hahaha.

I'll take 1080p 60fps all day.

1440p zelda tears of the kingdom at 60fps will be well worth the wait.

Would be awesome if the dock is hdmi 2.1 and supports vrr. I doubt it though

120hz vrr on the screen is sex though.
