I hope the critters are beast masters toads. They can do whatever they want, I will try not to piss them off from what I have seen :D

They're random cockroaches, snakes, flies, chickens, pigs etc. Typical Blizzard humor here. :p
 
The only thing I dislike about the beta (from the footage seen) is the red blur that surrounds the screen when you get low life. Really distracting and makes it harder to see monsters coming. It needs to be toned down a bit.

Yeah it could be toned down a little bit, but I think it's better than nothing, like in D2 you would be on the brink of death without so much as an audio que and death would follow if you didn't pay attention :-)
 
Am I the only that is not watching ANY streams or reading any datamine shit?

Part of the best things about a game like this is discovering it when you play it yourself imho.

Levels are still procedurally generated. You don't discover anything new, really.
 
So... how long until enemies of blizzard get their hand on the beta? I recall reading the sc2 f&f beta coming two weeks earlier. Same here?

I'm doing the same.

I know I'm on a BETA list of some sorts, but seeing I'm in EU, it might take a while.
I'm so hyped I keep checking my email account every 5 mins!

The environments aren't the reason I'm not watching them, it's the characters, skills, new features etc! I remember playing D2 in BETA, and discovering sockets! :O

Yeah, definitely not reading any of the datamine stuff.

And I've managed to just watch a few minutes of the streams and then turning them off.

I'd like to stay unspoiled as well. But man... what I've seen looks fucking good though. These last few months are going to be a total bitch.
 
It's going to be hard, I'll think I'll spend quite another while obsessing which laptop to get. I know I should wait close to launch to get the best value for money but even that will be hard...

Yea it was 2-3 weeks.

Edit: I hope they delay it to the end of the January so I can play it from Day 1 :P

Yeah, I am not sure about longtevity this game offers. A week later I'd be bored, more so.

Do you even know how these games are built up?
With 4 difficulties?
With a slowing down leveling curve?

Shitton of gold means nothing when the good items on Ah will cost 100-150 times the "shitton" you are seeing right now. And what is the problem with the sold items? o_o What is to notice?

Sure I know, but seeing eight blue-bright boots lay in inventory and all of their stats are a little different from each other. I know it's all dynamic and shit. But it's all cosmetics at the end. I'd like more variety in cosmetics.

It could be that they have increased stuff for the beta test, or they have increased the number of low end drops so players can collect a good amount of materials for the crafting.
 
I'm impressed by everything i have seen thus far. The game still look dark and its breathes the familiar Diablo atmosphere. Cant wait to play this. :)
 
Quick one for someone who is not a completely amateur at specs, like me:

Mac user here, you guys think if I can run Team Fortress 2 with settings on High do I have a chance with Diablo 3?

My specs are a couple of posts above, thank you.

Didn't they make it easier to get shit and level up because it's beta. Like they did in WoW :o
Also that's not end of act 1.

I give you the a la MW2 low health screen. I like it but it needs to be toned down.

Edit: Also why are you watching like the lowest quality stream there is out there?

Edit 2: I land in medium settings ;( Stupid old computer

So the lighting and the atmosphere look way better than what was shown in the screenshots.

I think as long as I don't zoom in on my character, I'll be okay.

I'd say you can run it on LOW, since the HD3000 integrated chipset is listed as such.
