Just got my beta F&F invite! I said I did earlier but that was confirmation of my bnet account being added to the queue for emails. Just checked my email right now and got the invite, so ... cya in like 6 months GAF.

Will you get us some nice 1080p footage? The alphaNoid Commentary.

I'd totally setup a stream (never done one) but it seems there is enough content out there for people.

Mate atleast do this for your gaffers in the gutters, post some snazzy screen shots for us :(

I'm tired of compressed to hell and back youtube clips. Or even better yet, some 60 fps fraps footage. *droooooool*

Am I not better off doing an h.264 encode?

The main limitation here is going to be my upstream. I have a pathetic 1mbps upstream (yay Canada!), so I'll have to rely on client-side encode to YouTube.

Also, I will try my best to get a 60fps video out there (though I doubt I can host that on YouTube). I have my own private host, so if I can actually manage to record 1080p @ 60fps (or even 1280*720, if I can't manage 1080p), I will get that up asap!
You can use Viddler, I think they still support 60fps.

I know that you can disable damage and critical damage numbers, but can you disable those "Massacre!!!!" "CARNAGE!!" "YOU RULE MAN!!!11!!1!1!" messages? Sorry if it's been asked, I went back 20 pages and only found the screenshot about disabling numbers.

Will there be... Some way to be a healer for most of the time? I realize I won't be healing 100% of the time but... For example in TQ I get to spec in Nature and pretty much use 2-3 spells and heal myself and my friends most of the time.

My question is basically: Will there be a class with some 2-3 healing spells? I know this isn't WoW and there aren't 50 spells per class, so 2-3 like TQ suffice me.

Ok, content will have to come later. I'm too into playing right now and not much into reinstalling fraps lol.. but I will get stuff later tonight. One thing I noticed as far as screen shots go, the Steam overlay does not work with this game. Its disabled or something so I cannot easily use the Steam SS feature or the Steam features in general. I think Starcraft 2 is the same way?

Anyways, even pressing PrintScreen key in the fucking game doesn't work, when I tab out to paste, its pasting my desktop lol. I've never see this, I'm really not sure if its the game wizardry or something else but its highly suspicious. So now I'm going to have to spend some time finding another solution, and I'd trying to avoid Xfire and stuff. Suggestions are welcome... the easier the better.

As far as game play experience goes, it felt 'different' at first. The art style is softer... dark and gothic still but softer. Also I couldn't change the zoom level but everything else feels very polished. After about 20 minutes of gameplay I settled right in, and now nearly an hour in I really honestly am in love with much of everything. Fits like a glove even though it felt different at first.

It feels Diablo, and probably more importantly.. SOUNDS Diablo. This beta is like a time machine to years past, and youth wasted. Everything is extremely easy to use, the menu systems, social/friends and everything else. It feels like it is very kin to Diablo fans as far as rich experience but accessible to the max for new comers to both the series and this kind of core genre.

More to come ...

Yes, monk has healing skill to heal himself and your party members. He also has mantra (aura) who boost the party.

but fraps is like 1mb big :(, and the trial version is perfectly serviceable for taking screenshots.

Did the public beta started? I'm getting warnings about Diablo 3 beta phising attempts while starting WoW. Quote started like "We'd like to remind those looking forward for an invite to the Diablo 3 beta blah blah"

Zooming is bad, very bad...

no doubt, but the fact that it still looks this decent speaks volumes about how well it'll look when playing normally.

And don't forget, AA can't be enabled in the beta.

Will the game have AA? Starcraft never had the option for it.
FSAA

What kind of system requirements are we looking at here? Higher or lower than SCII?

Speaking of which, how would this system handle a game like SCII?

Intel Core i5-2410M
4gb ddr3
AMD Radeon HD 6650M

...I keep checking my E-mail for a beta key like it will just show up magically.

Yesterday I logged into my Bnet account for the first time in yonks and discovered that I didn't even have a beta profile.

Not to be a dick, but why do you use the basic attack?

You should map Hungering Arrow to your left mouse. When you want to hit something with it, don't click on your target, but hold the Shift key (activates your attack instead of moving) and and just left click in the direction of your target.

Put some AOE on the right mouse button and choose a control skill for your hotbar.

I think you can tell there aren't many Diablo 2 players in the beta. So many people that leaves that basic attack on the mouse.

I saw a Wizard that was setup for melee and the dude combined the Magic Weapon buff with the basic attack. Spectral Blade would be pretty obvious to use instead of the basic attack...

What I'm trying to say is I really want to play the beta.

Well man, I play with a wacom tablet/pen and a Nostromo N-52. When I touch my pen to the tablet on a target I like for the auto-attack to take place. All of my special abilities are bound to a button on my nostromo. I have shift bound to a button on the pen itself so I just hold in that button when attacking if I want to remain stationary.

It's really quite efficient and I love playing isometric dungeon crawlers with this setup. I know that I could map hungering arrow to the lt mouse button and if I'm out of hatred it will fire auto attack. But I don't like that decision being made for me. I like to choose when I'm going to auto attack or use an ability.

There is a 21" Cintiq at work which would be amazing to play on. I may have to try my tablet.

Well if I could afford a Cintiq I probably wouldn't play games on it! :P But yeah, if you have a tablet, get your hotkeys setup, usually have to adjust them as you play to find the best solution. Once they are set, give it a good session. It really is a great control method for this genre.

I've played Titan's Quest and Torchlight both since trying it and I just love the way it works.
